4ENSET UP1. Place remote unit as close as possible to themain unit.2. Remove the battery compartment lid.(You will need a small Phillips screwdriver.)3. Assign a Channel Number.If you are using more thanone remote unit, select adifferent channel numberfor each unit.4. Set the measurement unit.5. Insert the batteries. Matchthe polarity, as shown inthe battery compartment.6. Press RESET with the point of a blunt object(such as a ball point pen).GETTING STARTEDThis product can be used with up to 2 remote units totransmit outdoor temperature and humidity data to amain (indoor) unit. The measurement unit (°F or °C) andchannel number (1, 2, or 3) switches are located in thebattery compartment, and should be set prior toinstallation.Additional remote units sold separately.NOTEPS R01A English r7 10/17/03, 6:29 PM4
5EN7. Replace the battery compartment lid. Secure.8. Mount the remote unit on a flat surface usingthe recess hole on the back of the unit. Forbest results:• Place the unit out ofdirect sunlight andmoisture.• Do not place theremote unit morethan 60 - 90 feet(20 - 30 meters) fromthe main (indoor) unit.• Position the unit so that it faces the main(indoor) unit. Minimize obstructions suchas doors, walls, and furniture.You may need to experiment with variouslocations to get the best reception.9. Once the batteries are in place, the sensor willtransmit signals approximately every 40 seconds.The readings shown on the main unit depend onwhich remote sensor (1, 2, or 3) is selected.Refer to the main unit User Manual for moreinformation.CHANGE CHANNELRepeat the Set Up procedure (   pg.4). 7ENLOW BATTERY WARNINGReplace the batteries whenever the low battery signal(   ) shows on the remote unit, or on the remote unitarea of the main unit.Do not use rechargeable batteries. Properlydispose used batteries by taking them to an authorizeddisposal station.RESET SYSTEMThe RESET button is located in the batterycompartment. Press it with the point of a bluntobject (such as a ball point pen) whenever youchange the batteries, or whenever performance isnot behaving as expected (e.g., unable to establishradio frequency link with main unit). Refer to theUser Manual for the main unit for more information.SAFETY AND CAREWash the unit with a slightly damp cloth and milddetergent. Avoid dropping the unit or placing it indirect sunlight or in damp or high-traffic locations.WARNINGSThis product is designed to give you years of serviceif handled properly.
