Positioning the Speed Pro:
- For “Ball Speed” place the Speed Pro on the ground approx. 1.5 – 2 ft. behind Hitting
Net.
Important: A large or solid hitting target made interfere with the Speed Pro’s speed
detection, we recommend you either raise the target or remove it while using your Speed
Pro.
- For “Swing Speed” place the Speed Pro on the ground 1 ft. away from the ball you are
hitting, make sure the Speed Pro’s LED screen is facing towards you.
What’s more important, Ball Speed or Swing Speed?
Actually the combination of both of these will allow you to add distance to your shots. But
probably the best way to increase distance is to develop a consistent Ball Speed. The
Ball Speed measures how solid your contact is, you can have a high Swing Speed but

you won’t get the maximum distance if you don’t make solid contact. Use the following as
a reference point for your practice, the Ball Speed of a well struck, solid shot should be
approx 1.4 times your Swing Speed (100mph Swing Speed = 140mph Ball Speed). With
this in mind we recommend you first determine your optimal Swing Speed first then you
can determine what your optimum Ball Speed is. We have also included a reference card
that will give you the approximate Driver distance in relation to Swing Speed.
