QUICK BLUETOOTH CONNECTION GUIDE
BEFORE YOU START
Your Bluetooth device (cellphone, MP3 player, computer, etc.) must support the
A2DP Bluetooth profile (commonly known as stereo audio profile) to work with the iHome iDM8.
Many of the latest mobile phones and PCs with built-in Bluetooth functionality will support
this profile.For accurate information about your product, please refer to your Bluetooth device’s
user manual for details on the Bluetooth profiles it supports and on how to set the device’s
Bluetooth pairing/searching/setup mode.
ABOUT PAIRING
Pairing is the term used when wirelessly connecting two Bluetooth devices for the first time.
This allows the devices to “see” each other and creates a unique lasting connection between
the specific devices.
PAIRING & LINKING YOUR BLUETOOTH DEVICE WITH THE iDM8
1) Make sure your Bluetooth device is fully charged. Turn it on.

2) Make sure the Bluetooth switch on the bottom of the iDM8 is in the Bluetooth (right) postion.
Press and hold the Power Button to turn on the iDM8 (release when amber light appears).
3) Turn on Bluetooth functionality on your Bluetooth device. Typically, Bluetooth controls
are found on the device’s tools or settings menu (see your user manual). Turn on Bluetooth
connectivity and make your device “discoverable”.
4) Press and hold the Play/Pause/Pairing Button located on left side of the unit to put the iDM8
in pairing mode (release when the amber light on the iDM8 flashes and 2 beeps sound).

5) Choose “add a new Bluetooth device” or “setup Bluetooth device” on your device.
It will start to search. If the pairing attempt fails or times out (after 3 minutes), the iDM8
will shut off. Power it on again and start pairing procedure again (see steps 2 - 4).
6) After your device and the i D M 8 have discovered each other, a “Pairing Successful” or similar message should
appear on your device and the amber light on the iDM8 should stop flashing and glow steadily for a moment before
turning green. If your device prompts you for a pass code, please enter 1234. On some devices such as computers,
once paired you must select the iDM8 from the Bluetooth menu and choose “Use as Audio Device (stereo)” or similar.
7) Pairing remains intact when the i D M 8 and/or the Bluetooth device is powered off or is taken out of link range
(30 feet). To re-establish an active connection when your Bluetooth device returns within range,press the
Play/Pause/Pairing button.
8) The next time the iDM8 is powered on it will automatically try to re-establish a link with the most recently linked Bluetooth
device. If your device does not support auto-linking OR was not the last linked to the iDM8, you must re-link manually
by selecting iDM8 from the Bluetooth device’s menu on your Bluetooth device or by pressing the Play/Pause/Pairing
button on the iDM8.

La plupart des modèles récents de téléphones portatifs et d’ordinateurs personnels munis de la fonctionnalité
Bluetooth intégrée soutiennent ce profil.

Au sujet du jumelage

Le mot jumelage est utilisé pour définir la toute première connexion sans fil de deux appareils Bluetooth. Ceci
permet aux appareils de s’identifier et de créer une connexion unique permanente entre deux appareils
distincts.

Jumeler et relier votre appareil Bluetooth à l’unité iDM8
1. Assurez-vous que votre appareil Bluetooth est pleinement chargé. Mettez-le sous tension.
2. Appuyez et tenez enfoncé le bouton d’alimentation pour activer l’unité iDM8 (relâchez le bouton lorsque le
voyant vert s’illumine).
3. Activez la fonctionnalité Bluetooth de votre appareil Bluetooth. Généralement, les contrôles Bluetooth sont
situés dans les menus outils ou réglage de l’appareil (consultez votre guide d’utilisateur). Activez la connectivité
Bluetooth ou rendez votre appareil « détectable ».
4. Afin d’activer le mode jumelage de l’unité iDM8, appuyez et tenez enfoncé le bouton lecture/pause/jumelage
situé sur le dessus de l’unité (relâchez-le lorsque le voyant ambré de l’unité iDM8 clignote et émette 2 bips
sonores).
5. Choisissez « ajouter un nouvel appareil Bluetooth » ou « installer un appareil Bluetooth » sur votre appareil.
La recherche s’effectuera. Si le jumelage échoue ou est interrompue après un délai de 3 minutes, l’unité
iDM8 s’éteindra. Mettez l’unité sous tension de nouveau et recommencez la procédure de jumelage (voir
les étapes 2 à 4).
6. Une fois que votre appareil et que l’unité iDM8 se seront détectés, le message « jumelage réussi » ou un message similaire devrait être
affiché à l’écran de votre appareil et le voyant ambré de l’unité iDM8 devrait cesser de clignoter et demeurer illuminé de façon non
intermittente pour un moment avant de devenir vert. Si votre appareil vous demande un mot de passe, veuillez entrer 1234. Certains
appareils tels les ordinateurs exigent que vous sélectionniez l’option « utiliser comme appareil audio stéréo » ou une option similaire du
menu Bluetooth de l'unité iDM8 une fois le jumelage effectué.
7. Le jumelage demeure intact lorsque l’unité iDM8 et/ou l’appareil Bluetooth est mis hors tension ou n’est plus dans la portée de jumelage
prescrite de 30 pieds. Appuyez sur le bouton lecture/pause/jumelage pour réactiver la connexion lorsque l’appareil Bluetooth est de
nouveau dans la portée prescrite.
8. La prochaine fois que vous activerez l’unité iDM8, l’unité tentera automatiquement de rétablir un lien avec le dernier appareil Bluetooth
jumelé. Si votre appareil ne soutient pas la fonction de jumelage automatique OU n’est pas le dernier appareil jumelé à l’unité iDM8,
vous devrez effectuer une connexion manuelle en sélectionnant l’unité iDM8 du menu de votre appareil Bluetooth ou en appuyant sur
le bouton lecture/pause/jumelage de l’unité iDM8.
