• Electrical shock hazard. To avoid fire, shock, or death, disconnect all
power before installing or servicing time switch or connected loads.
• Follow local electrical and safety codes, National Electric Code (NEC)
and Occupational Safety and Health Act Codes (OSHA).
• If the power disconnect point is out of sight, lock it in the OFF position
and tag it to prevent unexpected application of power.
• This time switch must be grounded.
• Do not exceed maximum current carrying capacity.
• Always replace the plastic insulator covering the terminal before
powering ON.

10.Connectgroundwiretogroundingterminalatbottomofenclosure.
11.Replacetheplasticinsulatorontheretainingpost.
12.Removethebatterycasebyslidingitdownasshownbythe
arrows,theninstall2AAAalkalinebatteries.Makesurethe
batteriesarepointinginthedirectionshown.
13.VerifythatthedisplayisONtomakesurethebatteriesareOK.
If the display shows scrambled information, press the RESET
button to clear it up.
14.ApplypowertotheTimeSwitch.
IMPORTANT:
PressandholdtheENTERbutton,thenpresstheRESETbutton.The
screenwillash12:00AMandMON,andtimerstatusisManual
Mode.
NOTE: You must reset the time switch using this procedure
whenever you change the jumpers.
The Time Switch is now ready for programming.
Programming Overview
BypressingtheMODEbutton,theTimeSwitchwillcyclethroughthe
menusnecessaryforprogrammingthecurrenttime,date,astrozone,
astroevents,andtimedevents.
ThebasicprocedureistousetheMODEbuttontomovefromone
menutothenext(e.g.,DATE,TIME,etc.),the+or– buttonsforthe
rstpartofasetting(e.g.,MONTH),theENTERbuttontomoveto
thenextpartofthesetting(e.g.,YEAR),thenMODEtoexitandmove
tothenextmenu.Toskipamenu,pressMODEtomoveahead.
If you make a mistake, press the MODE button repeatedly to cycle
back around to the error, then make the correct entry.
NOTE: DATE and TIME must be set before you can access any
other programming menus.
1 – Setting Date
1. PresstheMODEbuttonrepeatedlyuntilthewordsSETand
DATEappearintheupperareaofthedisplay.
2 – Setting Time
1. Ifnecessary,presstheMODEbuttonrepeatedlyuntilthewords
SETandCLOCKappearintheupperareaofthedisplay.

NOTE: To go from AM to PM, keep pressing the +or
– buttons to cycle through the day. You can hold the+or
– buttons down for 3 seconds to make the time scroll
quickly.
3. PresstheMODEbuttontoexitandadvancetosettingAstroZone.

WhenyouchooseanAstroZone,theTimeSwitchusesanapproxi-
matetimeforsunupandsunset,adjustingautomaticallyasthe
seasonschange(earliersunsetinwinter,etc.)Youcansetexact
sunupandsunsettimes,whichareavailableinthenewspaperoron
theInternet.
Formulti-circuittimeswitchET8215C,youcansetmultiplesunup
andsunsettimes—useful,forexample,inenvironmentsinvolving
lightingwithdifferentwarm-uptimes.
1. Ifnecessary,presstheMODEbuttonrepeatedlyuntilthewords
SETandSUNUPappearintheupperareaofthedisplay.The
displayalsoshowsthedefaultsunuptimeforthedateandzone.
2. Pressthe+or– buttonstoadjustthesunuptime.You can offset
the time up to 120 minutes in either direction.
3. PresstheMODEbutton:
- Ifamulti-circuittimeswitch,SUNUPandLOAD2appear
onthedisplay.
a. Pressthe+or– buttonstosettheexactSunuptimefor

b.PresstheMODEbuttontoadvancetoSunsetforLoad1.

7. Whenyouhavesettheeventcorrectly,youhavetwochoices:
- PresstheENTERbuttontosetthenextxedtimeevent(up
to28events).
- PresstheMODEbuttontoexit.
PresstheMODEbuttonrepeatedlytoselectthedesiredoperating
modeonthedisplay.Thereare2options:
• AUTO—wheretheTimeSwitchfollowstheeventsyouhavepro-
grammed,turningthecircuitsONandOFFatthetime(s)set.
NOTE: You can override programmed events and force the
Time Switch ON or OFF by pressing theON/OFF button.
• MANUAL—whereanyeventssetaredisabledandtheTime
SwitchcontrolsallcircuitsthroughtheON/OFFbutton.
NOTE: You can review or edit any programmed events at any time
by pressing the MODE button repeatedly to return to the appropriate
menu, then following programming instruction provided on this sheet.
Operating the Time Switch
