Invacare® Solara® Wheelchair Anything else is a compromise.™ Invacare ® Solara ® Wheelchair The first generation Invacare® Solara®, the foundation of our revolutionary Solara tilt-in-space wheelchairs, sets the standard for quality, durability and design. 55 Degrees of Tilt Invacare® Solara ®Wheelchair With 45 degrees of posterior tilt, the Solara allows the caregiver to change the consumer’s positioning throughout the day for comfort/pain relief, muscle tone management, pressure relief, feeding/swallowing and postural support. 10 degrees of anterior tilt facilitates additional positioning or transfers. A simple angle indicator provides caregivers with a point of reference when positioning the consumer for different activities. Stable Base With a wheelbase shorter than fixed pivot point tilts, the Solara balances the consumer within the footprint of the wheelchair. This provides maximum stability even when seating is mounted in front of the back canes. There is no guesswork or adjustment to balance the consumer within the base frame. A flared front end adds stability to the chair and reduces interference between casters and legrests for consumers with tight hamstrings. Additionally, a flared front end provides clearance for erratic foot propellers, such as consumers with traumatic brain injury or developmental challenges. Integrated, welded head tubes provide maximum durability. 6" x 2" semipneumatic casters are a good choice for clearing thresholds. Optional Dorsi / Plantar adjustable angle footplates allow you to adjust angle with foot on footplate. Adjustable angle rigidizing handle bar provides the greatest range of adjustment for caregivers short or tall. Invacare ® Solara ® Wheelchair Weight Shift Tilt-in-Space Durability The patented weight shift design of the Solara eliminates tilting the consumer around a fixed pivot point, keeping the client’s center-ofgravity almost perfectly stationery throughout the entire 55˚ tilt range. The Solara maintains optimal stability but decreases the overall wheelchair footprint. Today’s mobility bases are expected to last much longer than in the past. The Solara leads its class You can have confidence knowing that Invacare-designed wheelchairs go through some of the industry’s most rigorous performance testing before introduction and are backed by a limited lifetime warranty on frames and crossbraces. with years of field-tested experience and proven durability. The Solara uses a steel gear rack and multiple cable-activated teeth for a secure hold in a tilted position. The welded steel side frames of the Solara provide a solid base proven to withstand the demands of some of the toughest tilt-in-space wheelchair consumers. You can have confidence knowing that Invacaredesigned wheelchairs go through some of the industry’s most rigorous performance testing before introduction and are backed by a limited lifetime warranty on frames and crossbraces.
