General Description The Model TX4A Remote Control Transmitter is a small, handheld, battery powered, 914.5MHz radio transmitter unit which permits the remote control of four separate auxiliary functions in quarry and other heavy machinery. Front and rear views of the Model TX4A Remote Control Transmitter are shown in the photographs on the right and below. There are 5 operating buttons, labelled 1, 2, 3, 4, ON, and an LED (light emitting diode) indicator on the front face of the unit. Buttons 1 to 4 are transmit buttons. A special feature of the Model TX4A is the ON safety button. The purpose of the ON button and the 2 minute timeout sequence is to minimise the risk of accidental transmissions when, e.g., the unit is being carried in the user's pocket. The rear face of the unit is fitted with a belt clip and the battery compartment lid. Safety THIS UNIT MUST ONLY BE OPERATED BY AUTHORISED PERSONNEL. THE SAFETY PROCEDURES RELEVANT TO THE MACHINERY BEING CONTROLLED MUST BE OBSERVED. PRIOR TO EACH TRANSMISSION THE OPERATOR MUST HAVE CLEAR VISUAL SIGHT OF THE ITEM TO BE CONTROLLED. Operation Press the ON button twice to enable the transmit buttons. (Note - The interval between the two presses must be less than 2 seconds). The LED will flash once to indicate that the transmit buttons are active. If no transmit button is pressed during an ON period of 2 minutes (approximately), the transmit buttons are automatically inhibited. Pressing a transmit button restarts the 2 minute timeout. The LED repetitively flashes whilst a transmit button is pressed JMG TX user manual.DOC Page 1 of 2 11 May 2002 JMG Systems Ltd 68A Derry Road, Omagh, Co. Tyrone, N.
