CAMERA OPERTATION
Power ON/OFF
Use the Power ON/OFF sliding switch to turn ON/OFF the unit.
Channel Selection
There are 2 channels for selection in order to avoid interference from
other signal sources.
Press the channel switching button at the front of the camera.
A/V Input
This feature allows the user to have an optional analog A/V (Audio-Video)
input to the Camera unit and transmit this A/V signal to the Monitor unit
when the Voice Activation option is selected.
The A/V Input jack is located on the left side of the Camera unit. Use the
AV cord to connect the source of an AV signal (e.g. DVD) to the Camera
unit.
Voice Activation
To Activate: Select the VOX setting on the Voice Activation switch on
the left side of the Camera unit.
When the sound level within the area surrounding the unit reaches a
preset level, the Camera will begin transmitting the image and sound to
the Monitor.
NOTE: The LCD on the Monitor unit will be automatically switched off
if no signal is received from the Camera
To Deactivate: Select the CAMERA setting or AV setting on the Voice
Activation switch.
When set to CAMERA, it will only transmit the signal generated but the
Camera itself.
When set to AV the Camera will only transmit any AV input signal
connected to it continuously via the Audio/Video Cable.
11
Automatic Infra-Red Night Vision
The infra-red night vision feature of the camera allows it to pick up
imagery during darkness or periods of very low levels of light. This
function will switch on automatically when the level of light is low.
During this time a black and white image will be displayed on the
monitor and only objects within 6 ft/2 m will be seen on the monitor.
MONITOR OPERTATION
Power ON/OFF
Use the volume and ON/OFF switch on the side of the unit to turn on the
unit.
Channel Selection
Press the Channel Switching Button at the front of the monitor to select a
channel with optimized clear image and sound. Channels are indicated by
LED lights labeled with letters A or B.
Automatic Channel Scan
Selecting this option allows the Monitor to scan between both channels
automatically, stopping at each for about 5 seconds. Press the Channel
Switching Button until the LED light labeled AUTO is turned on and
starts blinking. Then, images from different Camera units (on different
channels) can be seen on the Monitor as the channels alternate.
LCD On/Off
This power saving feature is located on the side of the monitor. When the
monitor is switched to LCD “off” position and the camera remains on,
there will be no picture on the monitor screen but transmission continues.
This way the Monitor uses less power but is still operational as an
audio-only monitor. The Monitor will resume working with a clear
picture when the LCD is switched back to “on”.
12
Brightness Control
The brightness of the LCD can be adjusted by the 2 Brightness Control
buttons on the side of the Monitor unit. (+) to increase and (-) to decrease
the brightness of the LCD.
Audio/Visual Output Link
An additional security feature of the MobiCam AV System allows you to
link the monitor to a VCR or other video recorder for recording whatever
video and sound the camera captures. Also, you can link to a television
set that has a “Picture-In-Picture” feature to allow you to continuously
view the monitored area while watching your favorite TV program.
The A/V Output jack is located at the left side of the monitor. Simply
connect it to the Audio and Video input jacks of your VCR, Camcorder,
or TV set with the Audio/Video Cable supplied.
