Do not add fuel with the engine running. Do not operate if fuel has been spilled. Instead, move the machine to a different location and avoid cresting sparks. • Operate and fuel machine in • well ventilated area, fTee of devices featuring an open pilot or flame such as boilers, water heaters, etc. • High pmasure jets can be dangerous if subject to misuse. The jet must not be directed at persons, animals, electrical devioes, or the machine itself. • Wear safety goggles. _"_ _.dl • Do not use acids, aJkalines, solvents, or any flammable material in this product. These products can cause physical injuries to the operator and irreversible damage to the machine. • The machine has hot surfaces which can cause burns. Operate the unit in a safe environment and away from children. • Do not a_lowthe high pressure hose to come into contact with the muffler guard. • Do not leave the machine unattended. Water Supply (Cold Wate r Only) • Water hose must be at least3/4 inch in diameter. • Flow rate of water supply must not fall below 3.5 GPM (gallonsper minute). • Flow rate can be determined by running the water for one minute intoan empty 5-gallon container. • The water supply temperature must not exceed 104°F/40°C, • Neveruse the pressurewasher to draw in water contaminatedwith solvents, e.g. paint thinners,gasoline,oil, etc. • Always preventdebris from being drawn into the unit by usinga clean water source. We strongJy recommend that this high pressure washer not be left running for periods of 5 minutes or longer without the trigger gun being engaged. This Karoher high pressure washer is equipped with thermal protection to extend the life of your pressure washer. The thermal protector will automatically activate at a predetermined high temperature ejecting hot water before resetting. This ensures that the pump does not become damaged. running = Learn how to atop the machine and release pressure quickly. This safety feature DOES NOT lock trigger in the on position. //_ Caution • Follow the maintenance instructions specified in the manual, • This machine has been designed for USe with cleaning detergents supplied or _ by the manufacturer. The une of other cle_mlng detergents may affect the operation of the machine and void the warranty. [] Step ] I Attach the handle to the frame of the pressure washer. Align holes, insert botts, and tighten with knobs. Step 2 Step 4 Attach the wand to the spray gun. Step 5 Attachthe gun/hose storage handle. Stop 3 Place the quick connect nozzles in the nozzle holder. Stop I Check oil level. Oil level should be level with the bottom of the oil filler neck. Be sure the machine is level when checking the oil level. (Refer to the engine's operating manual for seasonal grades.) We recommend that the oil be changed after the first 5 hours of use, then once every 50 hours. Pull the springloaded collar of the wend back to insert your choice of quick connect nozzle. Slide the throttle lever left about 1/3 of the way toward the fast position. Step 7 Attach the high pressure hose to the spray gun. Step 8 Connect the high pressure hose to the unit's high pressure outlet. Step 9 Connect the garden hose to unit's water inlet. Step 7 Turntheengine switch to the "ON" position, Step 8 Importantt DO not run the enlilne with a high or low oil level as this can cause eng/ne damage. If you have further questions regarding the engine, please refer to the engine's operating manual included v_th the unit. You are now ready to operate your K rcher Pressure Washer Pull the starter handle. If the engine fails to start after 3 pails, squeeze the trigger gun to release pressure, and repeat step. After the 8regina is warm and running smoothly, slide the choke lever to the right (open) and thr0t_le to the left (fast}. Step 9 AdjustWessure control to desired setllng. The five color-coded quick connect nozzles provide a wide array of spray widths from 0° to 65+ and are easily accass_blewhen placed in the convenient rubber nozzle holder, which is 3rovided on the front Of the machine. Detergents can only be applied with the black nozzle. n imtrJ Step I Install the black quick-connect low pressL_e nozzle for detergent application at tow pressure. Red nozzle = 0 ° For best results see Cleaning Tips on pages 8 & 9 or included cleaning guide for specific information on how to clean different surfaces. Yellow nozzle = 15 _ Always Use Detergents Green nozzle = 25 = Step 2 Adjust the filter end of the detergent tube for light (-), or maximum (+) detergent coverage. Karcher for Best Results. K_Lroherbiodegradable detergents are specially formulated to protect the envirom ment and your pressure washer. The special formula won't clog the suction tube fitter and will protect the internal parts of the pressure washer for a longer life. Liquid detergent is drawn into the unit and r_xed with water. Apply detergent to work area. Do not allow detergent to dry on surface. • Bleach. If needed, use special Wash Brush Attachment to remove stubborn dirt. Rinse at high pressure from top to bottom in an even sweeping motion keeping the spray nozzle approximately 6 inches from the cleaning surface. Cement Patios, Brick and Stone (with or without detergent) Pre_rlnse cleaning surface with fresh water. If using K_cher Deck and Patio or All Purpose Cleaner, place detergent suction tube directly into cleening solution and apply to surface at low pressure. For best resutts, limit your work area to smaller sections of approximately 25 square feet. Allow K_ireherDeck and Patio or All Purpose Cleaner to remain on surface 1-3 minutes. Do not allow detergent to dry on surface. Rinse at high pressure in a sweeping motion keeping the spray nozzle approximately 3-6 inches from the cleaning surface. Always clean from top to bottom and from left to right. Cars, Boats & Motorcycles (with or without detergent) Pre-rinse vehicle with fresh water. For best results, clean one side of vehicle at a time and always apply detergent from bottom to top, do not allow detergent to dry on surface, if needed, use special Wash Brush Attachment to remove stubborn did. Rinse at high pressure in a sweeping motion keeping the spray nozzle apwoximately 6-8 inches from the cleaning surface (distance should increase when rinsing pin-striping or other sensitive surfaces). For removing extremely stubborn dirt, it may be necessary to move the spray nozzle even closer to the surface for greater dirt cutting action. To remove caked on mud from garbage cans, lawn mower blades, whsatbarrows or other non-sensitive metal surfaces, you may want to use the I_rcher Dirtblaatere NozzJe. Caution: Do not use Dirtblaster = spray nozzle on cloth, plastic or other sensitive surfaces as it may cause damage.
