Press to turn the VCP on and oflv When power is on, the light above the button will illuminate

a tape is in the player, power will be turned OFF and the tape will automatically be ejected.
2. STOP/EJECT BUTTON
Press once to stop tape motion Press again to elect the tape
3. AUTO REPEAT BUTTON
Press to activate the continuous automatic repeal function The light above the button will illuminates
When activated; each time the tape comes to the end, it will automatically rewind to the beginning
and then begin play again. This cycle will repeat continuously To cancel AUTO REPEAT mode, press
the AUTO REPEAT button again and the VCP will slap.
PLEASE NOTE: In AUTO REPEAT mode, only the AUTO REPEAT and TRACKKNG buttons lunctlon.
All other buttons are deactivated.
4. TRACKING BUTTONS
Use these buttons to minimize the noise bars that may occur at the top or bottom ol the screen
during playback
5. TAPE IN lNDICATOR
The TAPE tN light Will illuminate whenever a VIdEU cassette is in the unit and power is on
DEW INDICATOR:
The DEW light Will illuminate whenever excessive moisture condenses inside at the VCP If this light
is ON‘ the unit Will not operate ll this occurs. leave the unit in the POWER ON model and let it
remain at room temperature until the light goes otl. Please refer to the detailed description oi this

6. WIRELESS REMOTE SENSOR
Receives the inlrared signal Irorri the unified wireless remote controller that is packaged with KEC
Mobile Applications TeleVision/Monitors. Please note that the remote controller is not packaged with
this VCP.
7. REW(REWIND) BUTTON
This button has several Iunctions depending on the current operating mode of the VCP. See the
SPECIAL EFFECTS PLAYBACK Section oI this manual tor a complete description.
NORMAL REWIND:
Press HEW button when the VCP is in the STOP or FAST FORWARD modes and the tape wlll
rewmd.
REVERSE SEARCHfHEVIEW):
Press REW button when the VCF‘ is In the PLAY mode and the tape will be played back at high
speed in the Reverse direction.
8. PLAY BUTTON
Press to begin tape playback. The light above the button Wl" illuminate
9. FF(FA5T FORWARD) BUTTON
This button has several functions depending on the current operating mode at the VCP. See the
SPECIAL EFFECTS PLAYBACK Section 01 this manual for a complete description
NORMAL FAST FORWARD:
Press FF button when the VCP is in the STOP or REWIND modes and the tape will last lorward.
FORWARD SEARCH(CUE).‘
Press FF button when the VCP is in the PLAY mode and the tape will be played back at high speed
in the Forward direction
10. STILL BUTTON
Press this button during PLAY to temporarily stop the tape With a Still picture on the screen. Push
the PLAY BUTTON to resume normal playback.

For connection to television monitors equipped with a Direct Video Input.

Please note that it is not necessary to connect the FIF OUTPUT & ANTENNA lNPuT
TERMINALS(#15 & 16 below) if these jacks are used.
15. RF OUTPUT TERMINAL
Connect to the VHF Antenna Input terminal on the back at Ihe television With the supplied 759
Cable. It your television does not have a 75 12 input terminal. you will need to purchase a 75.62 to
3003? adaptor.
1G. ANTENNA INPUT TERMINAL
Connect the Signal lroni the VHF Antenna to this terminal When the VCP is not operating.
the antenna signal Will be passed to the teleVision through the RF OUTPUT TERMlNAL connection
(see tlts above), and normal television viewing will be enabled,
17. CHANNEL 3l4 OUTPUT SELECTOR
Set this selector to Channel 3 or 4~whichever is not active in your area. This will be the channel that
you swrtch to in order to view Video tapes

inSide with a dry cloth to insure a good connection.
9 Check the battery's charge level regularly when the television is used in a vehicle. It the vehicle’s

possible with the VCF‘ connected through the antenna and viewed on Channel 3 or 4

LOADING AND UNLOADING
LOADING
Insert Video Cassettes so that their label area is
lacing up, Push the middle ot the cassette inward
gently. The VCP's transport will activate and load the
cassette properly. The TAPE IN indicator wrll light.
UNLOADING
Push the STOP/EJECT button once to stop the tape. Push the STOP/EJECT button a second time to
elect the tape. The cassette compartment will open and the tape will be partially ejected Grasp the
cassette and remove it from the VCP.
NOTES:
0 Do not use torce to insert the cassette into the VCP,
0 Loading and unloading ol the cassette is only possible when power is connected to the VCF,
0 The STOP button on the Unified Remote Controller packaged With KEC Mobile Applications DC-Only

DEW WARNING
ll condensation occurs inside the unit. the DEW indicator will illuminate and bullt~in protection circurts will
not allow the VCP to operate ll this occurs, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PLAY A TAPE, but leave POWER
ON. When humidity has evaporated trom the VCP, the DEW indicator will go all. We recommend that
you wait lor an additional hour belore playing a tape to make sure that all moisture has Ielt the VCP.
Please read the other DEW precautions throughout this manual. Avoid locating the unit in an area where
DEW conditions are likely to occur. For example. do not locate the VCP directly in the path or an air
conditioner

AVOID MAGNETIC FIELDS
Do not bring a magnet or a magnetized object near the VCP or recorded video cassettes. Magnets can
erase tapes, and hurt the perlormance ol the player.

The Video Cassette is a precision mechanism. Treat them With care observing the manutacturer‘s

0 Video Cassette Tapes and VCP's can be wonderful and educational tools lor a child, but it is a good
idea to properly instruct the child in their proper operation

To watch a tape, you can just lnsert a video cassette wtth VCP Power OFF. The VCP will automatically
POWER ON and automatically begun tape playback.
AUTOMATIC END OF TAPE HEWIND:
ll you allow the Vldeo Cassette to PLAY all the way through, the VCF’ thI automatlcally go into the
HEWlND mode when the end ot the tape lS reached and rewind to the beglnhing ot the cassette,
POWER OFF AUTOMATIC EJECT:
When the VCP's power ls turned all and a vtoeo cassette is stlll loaded, the tape thI be ejected

Please note that this Video cassette Player is not normally packaged with a remote control unit.
A Unified Remote Controller is packaged with selected 9-inch and 13-inch KEC Mobile Applications
televisions.
You must install batteries in the remote control hand unit belore use, Follow the instructions on battery
installation in the TV Owner's Manual.
All VCP lunctions except AUTO REPEAT may be accessed with the remote controller. For proper
operation, the remote control unit must have a clear line oi sight to the WIRELESS REMOTE SENSOR
on the tront of the VCP. it should be within 25 ieet ol the SENSOR and no more than 30 degrees oli
center. It operation is sluggish, it is probably time to replace the batteries.
To EJECT the video tape with the remote controller, press the POWER button VCP Power will be
turned oil and the tape will be ejected.
IF THE VIDEO CASSETTE PLAYER IS NOT RESPONDING TO SIGNALS FflOM THE REMOTE

CLEANING THE VIDEO HEAD
0 Periodic head cleaning is necessary to maintain the high
quality picture and reliable operation ol th|s(or any other)
Video Cassette Player or Recorder Il tape playback gives you
a picture that looks something like the picture on the Ielt, but
the picture looks line when watching a regular TV broadcast,
you probably need to clean the video head.
0 The head cleaning procedure is very simple. Visit your local
video store and purchase any ol the widely available well
known Video Head Cleaning Tapes. Follow the instructions
that come with the Cleaning Tape-overuse can shorten video
head life.
0 Il good quality tapes are used, head cleaning will not be
required very olten. But continuing failure to perform this
operation may result in gradually deteriorating picture quality,
0 ii poor quality or damaged tapes are used in this unit, much more irequent head cleaning will be
necessary It is possible that the video heads can become so badly clogged that protessional service is
