SELECTiNG THE PROGRAM SOURCE
Press the TVNlDEO button on the Hermie Control or LCM-70 Control Panel to select the desired
program source. Repeatedly pressing the human will swttch between inputs as follows

- The Audio Outputs always teed a lovHevel audio signal lrom the selected input,

audio signal to g. a monophonic hroadoastfiom the bill-in TV Tuner, or the signal from a Monophonic
VCP connected to the NV 1, 2 or 3 irpm terminals).

(eg. a stereo broadcast received by the builtin TVTuner, or Ihe Signal trom a Hi—fi Stereo VCP or DVD

- The EXTERNAL SPEAKERS OUTPUT CONECTOR leech a ligh level mono or stereo signal whose
level is Variable up to 2.0W maximum when oonneded to 44mm speakers.

The built~in lR Transmitter allows you to Isten lo the Stereo or Monophonic audio signal trom the selected
program source (T V. AN l. ANZ or Alt/3) on IR Wireless Headphones manuiactured by UnWiredtfc
Technology LLC. We do not otter these headphones oursewes. but lhey are widely available under the
Uriwired® brand name Headphones sold under other brand names that are compatible With Unwlred®
may also be used. The IR signal IS always we.

This model incorporates 3 sets of STEREO AUDIO/VIDEO INPUTS (NVl. NVE. lit ANS) for direct connection
or up to 3 external program sources (Videocasette Player. Video Game, DVD Player. Camcorder, etc.)

IMPORTANT NOTE - NEGATIVE 8: POSITIVE DOOR CIRCUITS:
The 3-wire harness lor the LSM-70‘s builtin dome lights is colorcoded for use in vehicles that employ
a negative door circuit This includes most US and imported vehictes.
Most Ford Motor Company vehicles and some imported vehicles employ a positive door cirou'n.
First verity which type at circuit is used in the irsiallaiion vehicle and then lollow the instructions in the
appropriate section below
(1) NEGATIVE Door Circuit
Red wire - Connect to 12V unswitchedpouer
Black wire - Connect to chassis ground.
This we provtdes a gromd. The lights wrll illuminate when the LSM-70‘s Srposition dome
light swttch IS in the ON position. Failure to connectthis wire to ground will prevent the
dome lights lrom illuminating wilh the switch In the ON position
White wire - Connect to negative door switch
This wire will short to ground when a door is opened. The lights will illuminate ii the
LSM-70‘s S-poswion dome light switch is in lhe DOOR position
(2) POSITIVE Door Circuit
Red wlra - Connect to chassis ground.
Black wire - Connect to 12V unswztched power.
It there is no constant power wire underthe factory dome light a constant power lead will
have to be run to a source oi unswitcheo 12V power.
White wlne - Connect to positive door swnch.
This we WlII have 12V power when a door is opened.

ONDITION SHOULD THE LCD DISPLAY BE MOUNTED IN ANY POSITION WHERE A
PICTURE MIGHT BE VISIBLE TO THE DRIVER. EVEN IN THOSE CASES WHERE SUCH AN
INSTALLATION IS NOT PROHIBITED BY LAW. DOING SO MIGHT INCREASE THE LIKELIHOOD
OF A SERIOUS ACCIDENT

1. INITIAL PREPARATION
- Insert batteries into the Remote Control unit wlollowing the procedure descnbed in the
"REMOTE CONTROL BATTERY INSTALLATION' section in this manual.
- Follow the procedure described in the 'MENU OPERATION" and "AUTO PROGRAM”
sections that tollow to automatically scan and store active television channels into memony.
2. BASIC OPERATION PROCEDURE
1 Lowering the LCD Screen releases the AUTO POWER
SWITCH (see item x12 on page 8) and turns power on.

2. Press the TVNIDEO button on the LSM~70 Control
Panel or Flemote Control to select the desired mode
(TV,VIDE01.VIDEO 2. VlDEO 3).
3. It TV mode has been selected. select the desired channel using the CHANNEL V/A but-
tons on the LSM-70 Control Panel or Remote Control. Pressmg the '/A buttons
advances to the next lower or higher channel stored in memory.
Channels can be selected directly by using the 10~digil Keypad on the Remote Control.
Example, To select Channel 5. press '0' first, than press '5". (It “0” is not pressed first,
there Will be a delay at about 5 seconds betore the channel changes.)
4. If external speakers are connected to the EXTERNAL SPEAKERS OUTPUT CONNEC—
TOR. the VOLUME —/+ buttons on the Remote Control may be used to adjust the speak-
er's volume.
The volume level wrll be shown on the screen wilh 3 VOLUME 33
bar scale and a reference number (0-63) as shown. _
NOTE atottrme level can be muted instantly by pressing the MUTE button on the Remote
“ Control. See "MUTE Eunon' on page 26.

(2) AUTO PROGRAM
This function allows automatic memorization of all active TV channels in your viewing area. Once
memorized. channels can be selected with the CHANNEL VIA buttons on the Remote Control or on
the LSMtOA‘s Control Panel.
Procedure
- Press the TV/Vldeo button as necessary to switch to TV Mode.
- Press the CHANNEL VIA buttons (if necessary) to higilight
- Press the VOLUME + button to bring up the SEI'UP menu.

FREQ", then press the VOLUME - or , button to choose any FM Frequency from 88.3MH1 to
95.0MHZ in 0 tMHzttOOKHzt increments.
Tune the vehicle‘s radio to the frequency chosen m step 3 above.
it may be necessary to repeat step 3. mousing a titlerenl lrequency each time, betnre you are able to
receive a satistactory signal. The best signal rs usually obtained by choosing a trequancy that is not
acuvety broadcasting in your area. Also note that better results may be obtained it the vehicle‘s antenna

(5) NOISE TIME Mode(Automatic power shutflff)
It the system is not swrtched of! when a TV Statlon stops broadcasting, (or any other program
source ends) the system witl automatmlly go 10 power on made after approximatety 15 mrnutes
have passed.
The most common types of television interterenoe are as iollmvs :
IGNI'I10N NOISE:
Black spots or horizontal lines may appear, picture may
Ilutter or driIt. Usually caused by interference from
automobile ignition systems neon lamps, electric drills
and other electric appliances.
GHOSTS :
GhOGB are caused by the televismn signals following two
pams One is a direct path and the other is reflected from
tall tunings hills or other cbiects.
Changing the direction or position ot the antenna may
improve the reception.
SNOW :
it you are located on the tnnges at a television receptlon
area. the Signal will be weak, and your picture may contain
many small dots.
When the Signal is extremely week It may be necessary to
install an external sensitive antenna to improve the picture.
RADIO FREQUENCY INTERFERENCE :
This interference produces moving ripples or diagonal
streaks. and in some cases causes loss at contrast in the
picture,
IMPORTANT NOTE :
WHEN USED N A VEHICLE. THIS SYSTEM IS INTENDED PRiMARILV AS A MONITOR FOR A
VIDEO CASSETTE PLAVER, ViDEO GME, OFI CAMERA.
TELEVISION BROADCAST RECEPTION WILL BE ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY CONDITIONS
SUCH AS MOTiON, CHANGE OF DiRECTION, ATMOSPHERIC ACTIVITY, AND LOCAL SUR-
ROUNDINGS
lT IS THEREFORE LIKELV THAT BROADCAST PICTURE QUALiTV WiLL BE MARGINAL WHEN
