ENGLISH GENIUS WIRELESS TOUCH PAD GT—120005 QUICK INSTALLATION GUIDE CAUTION: INSERT THE DRIVER CD INTO YOUR COMPUTER FIRSTAND THEN FOLLOWTHE INSTRUCTIONS TO COMPLETE YOUR SETUPPROCESS. Power button 4, Dongle & battery slot ' 5 Left button (Resume function) 6 6, Dongle DRIVER INSTALLATION Wind uws: No need to install the device driver in Windows 8/7, you are able to use your fingertip(s) with different gestures to work. Check the User’s manual on the CD-ROM for more information. Note: Win Vista (SP1 or higher) / Win XP (SP2 or higher) (does not support touch function) Macintosh: 1. Insert the driver disc into your computer’s CD-ROM drive. 2. Check to see if the “Genius TouchPad" is shown on the screen. Double click the icon then follow the instructions. 3. Enter your administrator name and password to process the next step till it’s finished. Note: For more information, refer to the MAC user manual on the driver disc. CA U TION: ONCE THE INSTALLATION HAS BEEN COMPLETED, REBOOT YOUR MACIN TOSH BEFORE PLUGGING THE DEVICE INTO YOUR COMPUTER HARDWARE INSTALLATION CAUTION: MAKE SURE TEA T YOU HA VEINSTALLED THEDRIVER SOFTWARE (SEEABOVE) INTO YOUR COMPUTER BEFORE INSTALLING THE HARDWARE. Insmll two AA batteries into the battery tube in the correct direction. 2. Match the arrow on the tube to the dot, and slide the battery tube back into the touch pad in the right direction. When it has been installed properly, the power will turn on directly. ‘ H ll ll 3 Plug the touch pad dongle into your computer’s USB port (located on the us: use computer, display, or keyboard). The touch pad’s LED light will indicate the Pan pun - operational status, and your computer screen will display a “found new hardware” ”mam, mm“, message. “' ‘ ‘ 4. You can also press the power button on the right side underneath the touch pad to turn on the power. Note 2 Do not mix or use different types of batteries at the same time such as Li-Ion, Alkaline, etc; and remember do not put the batleries in the wrong direction. VERIFYING THE INSTALLATION To ensure that everything has been installed properly, follow the procedures below. Check the user’s manual on the CD-ROM and C:\Genius\ioTouch\Manua1 (Windows) or Application/Genius/ioGesture/Emanuel] Macintosh) for more information. ENGLISH VERIFYING HARDWARE AND DRIVER FUNCTIONS The LED light on the touch pad is the main indicator for hardware operation. The light normally stays off, and will light up in various situations. Watch the status of the touch pad LED light as you go through these steps. None of the steps, except the last two, require the touch pad driver to be insmlled. 1. When you have turned on the power of touch pad, the LED light will come on briefly, and will normally stay off. 2. Move your fingertip(s) within the touch pad working area, the cursor on the screen will move accordingly. Ifit doesn't work, change the batteries and make sure that you have pressed the power button or re-plugged the dongle into your PC. 3. Touch the working area by your fingertip(s) or press dovm on the touch pad to activate the left button (resume function) or power button to start working if it has gone into standby mode. A built-in power saving function may have forced the touch pad into standby mode if it has not been used for six minutes. 4. When in low battery status, the blue LED of the touch pad will be blinking continuously; it will stay off when the batteries have been changed. 5. To turn the touch pad off, press the power button for three seconds, the LED will stay on for two seconds, and the power will be turned off. 6. [fthe touch pad driver has been properly installed, a small touch pad icon (Ea) will appear in the system Task Bar area, normally at the lower right comer of the screen. 7. With the touch pad driver properly installed, moving your fmgertip(s) over the working area will cause the cursor on the screen to move accordingly. Note: Sweat, moisture, or oily finger(s) or finger(s) with moisturizing lotion or long fingernail(s) may influence the touch sensitivity of gesture, so make sure your hand(s) are dry before using the touch device. Note: The Gesture function is programmable. Go to the Touch Menu (£21) to set up (check the user manual for more information). BUTTON FUNCTION 1 Power Button (on the right ofthe battery tube): m 1.1 To turn on or off the power of the touch pad. g 1.2 Resume function: Provides resume function when the touch pad has gone into standby mode. 1.3 Push in to open the battery tube and you can also store the dongle when not in use. 2 Left Button (under the touch pad): 2.] Mouse function: Provides traditional mouse functions like click and double click. 2.2 Resume function: Provides resume function when the touch pad has gone into standby mode. NOTES ON BATTERY USAGE When you use the battery, carefully read and strictly observe the ngety Instructions and the notes described below: I Different battery types and surrounding temperatures may affect the battery performance. I Avoid using batteries in extremely cold environments as low temperatures can shorten the battery life and reduce wireless device performance. I Ifyou are using a new rechargeable battery or rechargeable battery that has not hem used for an extended period of time (batteries that pass the expiry date are exceptions) it might affect the period of time you can use this device. Therefore, to maximize their performance and lifetime, we recommend that you fully charge the batteries and discharge them for at least one complete cycle before use. I The battery may feel warm when using the wireless device for an extended period of time or using the flash continuously. This is normal and not a malfunction.
