3. REMOVE THE MOTOR BELTAND THETIMING BELT(A),

*AFTER REPLACING THE UPPER SHAFT SENSOR UNIT, MAKE SUREIT DOESN'T TOUCH THE
UPPRESHAFT SHIELD PLATE(C).

CLEANING THE HOOK RACE
CLEAN THE FEED DOGS, HOOK RACE AND BOBBIN
HOLDER WITHTHELINTBRUSHAND A SOFTDRYCLOTH.
REPLACING THE BOBBIN HOLDER
INSERTTHE BOBBIN HOLDER SO THAT THE KNOB FITS
NEXTTO THESTOPPER IN THEHOOK RACE.
(1) STOPPER
(2) KNOB
INSERTTHE BOBBIN.
REPLACE THE NEEDLE PLATE, INSERTING THE TWO
NEEDLE PLATE GUIDE PINS INTO THE HOLES IN THE
NEEDLE PLATE.
REPLACE THESCREW.

OILING
APPLY A FEW DROPS OF SEWING MACHINE OIL TO THE POINTS INDICATED BY THE AR-
ROWS. RUN THE MACHINE FOR A FEW MINUTES TO LETTHE OIL WORK INTO THE BUSH-
INGS. MOVE THE CARRIAGE BY HAND TO SPREAD OIL OVER THEGUIDE BARS.
NOTE: MAKE SURE TO AVOID STAINING THE UPPER SHAFT SHIELD PLATE OR CIRCUIT
BOARDS WITH OIL WHEN SPPLYING OIL TO POINTS (A) AND (B) BELOW.
