J- c l Installing the Transceiver WAfiMNGI FOR PASSENGER SAFETY, INSTALL THE TRANsCE/VEH SECUFIELX USING THE SUPPLIED MOUNTING BRACKET, SO THE TRANSCEIVER WILL NOTEREAK LOOSE IN THE EVENT DFA COLLISION 1 Locate the holes in the dash by using the mounting bracket as a template. Drill the holes, Attach the mounting bracket using the supplied 5 x 16 mm screws. - Be sure to mount the transceiver in a location where the controls are within easy reach of the user. and where there is sutticient space at the rear oi the transceiver tor cable connections. I Time-nut Timer (TOT) The purpose of the Time-out Timer is to prevent any single person from using a channel tor an extended period of time. If you continuously transmit tor a period ol time that exceeds the programmed time, the transceiver will stop transmitting and an alert tone will sound. To stop the tone, release the PTT switch. Your dealer can program the TOT time in the range of 15 seconds to 10 minutes. Systems, groups, and their lunctions are programmed by your dealer. l Conventional Fnrmat This format can handle up to 250 groups with 250 channels in each group. The transceiver can be used only in conventional mode. When a call is received, scanning stops and the system and group digits appear. Press the PTT switch and speak into the microphone to respond to the call.
