Bluetooth Speaker with calendar RECHARGEABLE WIRELESS BATTERY ALARM SNOOZE CLOCK BUTTON DC-1012 USER’S MANUAL Important Safety Precautions When using your Vivitar Bluetooth Speaker Clock, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following: 1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING YOUR SPEAKER. 2. Do not use your speaker near water. Clean using a soft cloth or paper towel. 3. Do not place your speaker on any wet surfaces. 4. Do not allow children or the infirm to play with your speaker without adult supervision. 5. Do not expose your speaker to excessive heat, flames or fire. 6. Always press all buttons or switches carefully. Do not manhandle your speaker. 7. Do not use in extremely dry environments, as this can lead to static discharge during usage. 8. Do not expose your speaker to temperatures above 40°C. Keep out of direct sunlight. 9. Do not attempt to repair this product yourself. Contact a qualified service center if your speaker is in need of service. 10. Do not drop, puncture or expose your speaker to excessive trauma. 11. Your speaker is not intended for commercial use. 12. Do not place near objects that generate a strong magnetic field. 13. You can use your speaker with iPads, iPhones, iPods and many other types of smartphones and Bluetooth devices to stream music. In order to get the best results when using this device, please read this manual first before using. To avoid damage, do not attempt to remove the battery. The full performance of the battery is only achieved after a few charging-discharging cycles. Charge the battery fully before first use. To do so, follow the steps below: 1. Connect one end of the included micro USB charging cable to the Micro USB Charging Port on the rear of your speaker. Then plug the other end of the micro USB charging cable into a USB port on your computer or a suitable power adapter in order to recharge the internal rechargeable battery. NOTE: The internal battery of your speaker takes approximately three hours to charge when completely drained. 2. When the battery is charging, the LED Indicator Light will turn red. The LED Indicator Light will turn off when the battery is fully charged. Unplug when charging is complete. NOTE: Overcharging could reduce the life of the battery. A charged battery will lose its capacity if it is not used on a regular basis. Important! To avoid a complete discharge of the battery, charge your speaker at least once every six months. Pairing Your Speaker with a Bluetooth Device Your speaker can be paired with most Bluetooth devices including iPads, iPhones, iPod Touches, and most smartphones, laptops and tablets. In order to pair your speaker with a phone, follow the steps below: 1. Slide the On/Off Switch to the ON position in order to turn on your speaker. The LED Indicator Light will start alternately flashing red and then blue repeatedly. This indicates that your earbuds are in pairing mode. 2. Go to the Bluetooth Manager of your Bluetooth device. 3. Search Bluetooth devices and select “Vivitar BT clock” to start connecting. 4. Enter “0000” if your device asks for the PIN code. 5. Once paired, the LED Indicator Light will stop blinking and steadily shine blue. Note that anytime music is playing, the light will slowly blink blue every few seconds. Using Your Speaker: Listening to Music Powering Your Speaker On and OFF 1. Slide the On/Off Switch to the ON position in order to power on your speaker. If you have already paired your speaker to your Bluetooth device, they will automatically remain paired each time you power on your speaker. 2. Slide the On/Off Switch to the OFF position in order to power off your speaker. Listening to Music • Button: Press to play or pause a track. • Quickly tap the “ ” button to advance to the next song in a playlist. • Quickly tap the “ ” button to go back to the previous song in a playlist. • Press and hold the “ ” button to increase the volume. • Press and hold the “ ” button to decrease the volume. Note: You can also adjust volume and playback settings on your phone or connected audio device. Using Your Speaker: Setting the Date & Time 1. Press the MODE button repeatedly until the symbol “TIME” is displayed in the upper right hand corner of the display screen. 2. Press the SET button to enter the date and time settings mode. 3. Press the DOWN or UP buttons to increase or decrease a setting. Press the SET button to confirm a setting and move to the next setting. 4. In the date and time settings mode you can adjust the hour, minute, year, month and day. Using Your Speaker: Setting the Alarm Clock 1. Press the MODE button repeatedly until the symbol “AL” is displayed in the upper right hand corner of the display screen. 2. Press the SET button to enter the alarm setting mode. 3. Press the DOWN or UP buttons to increase or decrease a setting. Press the SET button to confirm a setting and move to the next setting. 4. In the alarm settings mode you can adjust the alarm time (hour and minute), snooze interval (1 to 60 minutes), and alarm sound (choose among 7 tones). Using Your Speaker: Turning the Alarm On 1. Press the MODE button repeatedly until the symbol “AL” is displayed in the upper right hand corner of the display screen. 2. Press the DOWN and UP buttons repeatedly to choose between turning on the alarm ( itself, or turning it on with snooze ( and ) or turning it off. 3. To stop the alarm from going off, press either the MODE, DOWN, or UP buttons. 4. Unless stopped, the snooze function will remain on until it has rung 4 times. ) by Using Your Speaker: Additional Functions Temperature Display When the symbol “TIME” is displayed in the upper right hand corner of the display screen, press the DOWN button repeatedly to select between °C and °F. If the “TIME” symbol is not on the screen, press the MODE button repeatedly until it appears. Maintenance and Care -Before using your speaker, inspect the ports to make sure that they are clear of dust and debris before charging or inserting any cables. -Use a soft cloth to clean your speaker. Never use any harsh chemicals or detergents. Make sure your speaker is dry before using. -When your speaker is not in use, it should be stored in a cool, dry place. -Never tug or yank on the USB charging cable while it is connected to your speaker. Connect and disconnect cables as carefully as possible. -Never expose your speaker to high temperatures, extreme cold, high humidity or excessive moisture or water. -Please recycle or dispose of your speaker properly based on the laws and rules of your municipality.
