Care and Maintenance
Battery information and care
• Do not short-circuit the battery. Accidental
shortcircuiting can occur when a metallic object such as
a coin, clip, or pen causes direct connection of the
positive (+) and negative (-) terminals of the battery.
• Always try to keep the battery between 15°C and 25°C
(59°F and 77°F). Extreme temperatures reduce the
capacity and lifetime of the battery.
• Do not dispose of batteries in a fire as they may
explode. Dispose of batteries according to local
regulations. Please recycle when possible.
• Use the battery only for its intended purpose. Never
use any charger or battery that is damaged.
• Keep your battery out of the reach of small children.
Certification information (SAR)
Your mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is
designed not to exceed the limits for exposure to radio
waves recommended by international guidelines. These
guidelines were developed by the Federal Communications
oCommission of the US Government and include safety
margins designed to assure the protection of all persons,
32
regardless of age and health.
The exposure guidelines for mobile devices employ a unit of
measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate or
SAR. The SAR limit stated by the FCC is 1.6 watts/kilogram
averaged over 10 grams of tissue. Tests for SAR are
conducted using standard operating positions with the device
transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested
frequency bands. The actual SAR level of an operating device
can be below the maximum value because the device is
designed to use only the power required to reach the network.
That amount changes depending on a number of factors such
as how close you are to a network base station. The highest
SAR value for use of the device at the ear is 1.26 W/kg.
The highest SAR value for use of the device at the body is
1.54 W/kg. For body worn operation, position the handset a
minimum of 1.5 cm from your body.
Use of device accessories may result in different SAR
values. SAR values may vary depending on national
reporting and testing requirements and the network band.
Use the mobile device properly to reduce your exposure to
electromagnetic radiation (EMR).
Without permission granted by the National Communcations
Commissions (NCC) of Taiwan, any company,
enterprise, or user is not allowed to change frequency,
enhance transmitting power or alter original characteristic as
33
well as performance to a approved low power radiofrequency devices.
Low power radio-frequency devices shall not influence
aircraft security and interfere with legal communications; If
such influence or interference occurs, the user shall
immediately cease operating the device. Legal
communications is defined as radio communications
operations that conform to the Telecommunications Act.
Low power radio-frequency devices must accept any
interference received from legal communications and
industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) radio wave radiated
devices.
FCC NOTICE
This mobile phone complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules.
Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This
device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this
device must accept any interference received, including
interference that may cause undesired operation.
This mobile phone has been tested and found to comply
with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part
15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide
reasonable protection against harmful interference in a
residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and
can radiated radio frequency energy and, if not installed and
34
used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful
interference to radio communications. However, there is no
guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular
installation If this equipment does cause harmful
interference to radio or television reception, which can be
determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is
encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more
of the following measures:
- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
- Increase the separation between the equipment and
receiver.
- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different
from that to which the receiver is connected.
- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician
for help.
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the
party responsible for compliance could void the user‘s
authority to operate the equipment.
The antenna(s) used for this transmitter must not be colocated or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or
