Congratulations on your purchase of the LG—600 phone that has been designed
to operate on the latest digital mobile communication technology, Code Division
Multiple Access (CDMA). This CDMA digital technology has greatly enhanced
voice clarity and can provide various advanced features It is a new and
compact phone with many useful and advanced features :

1.2. Important Information
1.2.1. Check Components
Each Standard unit comes with a one-slot desktop charger, two larger extended
battery packs. a hand strap, and a user guide.
1.2.2. Caution
Any changes or modifications not expressly approved in this document could
void your warranty for this equipment and void your authority to operate this
equipment.
You don’t need to fully charge the battery before the first use of the phone.
Please do not hold the antenna while on line.
Make it sure to keep your phone at safe places when not in use and avoid
shock or impact.
The phone may cause TV or radio interference (i.e., when using the telephone
in close proximity to receiving equipment).
Only use the batteries, antennas, and chargers provided by LGiC. The use of
any other type will invalidate the warranty and may be dangerous.
Exposure to high temperature or humidity should be avoided. Trouble may arise
out of wetting your phone by rain or liquid spills.

1.4. Function Keys Description
The following keys perform these functions when pressed during most
procedures:
[END] Power key to turn power On and Off
[MENU] Displays menu text.
[SEND] Places a call.
[STO] Stores your settings, phone numbers into memory usually at the
end of your setting process. it is also used to enable and
relearn the mute feature while on line.
[END] Disconnects a call. Also exits all the way out of a menu back
to the phone’s most basic standby display without changing the
setting.
[RCL] Search and recalls phone numbers in memory.
[CLR] Clears letters/numbers from the screen. Press once to erase one
digit or letter. Press and hold to erase all digits. When in a
menu, press to go back one level and press and hold to go back
to the standby display.
[<',# b] Scrolls through phone book entries and menu items.
[1 ,2,] Enters numbers, characters, and chooses menu items.

1.6. Using the Battery
The phone comes with a rechargeable battery pack. The battery pack is not
fully charged so you have to charge it immediately after purchasing the phone,
Remember to charge the battery as soon as possible in order to maximize the
talk time and standby time.
1.6.1. Installing the Battery
1. Fit the lower end of the battery pack into the corresponding lower end of the
phone.
2. Push the battery pack forward the phone until you hear ”clicking".
1.6.2. Removing the Battery
1. Turn the power off; otherwise, you may lose stored numbers and
messages.
2. Press down the battery release latch and then pull out the battery pack.
1 ,6.3. Charging the Battery
The battery charge level is shown at the top right of the display panel.
When the battery charge level becomes low, the low battery sensor will alert
you by sounding an audible tone, by flickering the battery icon and also
displaying “LOW BATI'ERY WARNING". If the battery level becomes too low,
the phone will switch off and any function in progress will not be saved.
Batteries may be charged using the standard LGIC desktop charger, optional
travel charger. or cigarette lighter adapter.
1.6.4. Using the Desktop Charger
Warning: Only use the desktop charger and AC adapter provided with the
phone. Using the wrong adapter may cause damage.
1. Plug the charger into a wall outlet.
" Only 110V is available.
’ If the AC power connected to the desktop charger, green and red
lamps blink once.

Insert either the battery pack alone or the phone with installed battery pack
into the slot. You should then see a red light on the charger indicating that
the battery is being charged. A green light indicates a fully charged battery.
If battery is completely discharged, it takes approximately 4 hours to fully
charge for the extended battery.
You do not need to completely discharge the battery before charging. Unlike
other battery systems, there is no memory effect which could degrade the
battery performance.
1.6.5. Battery Care
Only use LGIC battery packs and chargers. Do not use any other battery
pack or charger. LGIC’s chargers are designed to maximize the battery life
performance.
Do not attempt to disassemble or short-circuit the battery pack.
Do not charge the battery pack in temperatures outside of 32 ' F to 122 ' F
(0 ' C to 50 ' C) because damage could occur.
Never dispose of the battery pack by a fire that may cause explosion.
Keep the metal contacts at the bottom end of the battery pack clean.
Replace the battery when it no longer provides acceptable performance.
The battery pack may be recharged hundreds of times before it will need to
be replaced.
Recharge the battery if it has not been used for a long time.
Do not use the battery charger in direct sunlight or in places with high
humidity such as bathroom.
2. GETTING STARTED
This section includes drawings of the important phone pans and instructions on
getting your phone powered up and ready to use.
2.1 . Turning the Phone On and Off

Make sure that the charged battery pack has been installed in the back of the
phone or that you have external power (using the cigarette lighter charger or car
kit).
Press < m for a few seconds until red light at the top of the earpiece is lit.
(about 1 second)

0 If LCD displays "LOCKED", read security on page 77. Factory initial
security code is "0000" and will be replaced with the last four digits
of your phone number assigned to you by the telephone company.

3.1. Making a Call
First, check that your phone is on. The display indicators should be visible on
the screen.

problem. Enter the Lock Code.

3.3. Receiving Calls
Your phone must be turning on to receive calls.

This function prevents your voice from being transmitted, but you can still hear
the other party‘s talking.

3.6. Emergency Dialing
As long as your phone is registered on a system. you can call to emergency
number 911 even if your phone is locked or restricted.

This function allows you to carry the phone safely. While carrying a phone, it
makes the keypad is not working except menu key.

8. PHONE SAFETY AND CARE
8.1. Background
First introduced in 1984, the hand-held portable cellular telephone is one
of the most exciting and innovative electronic products ever developed.
With it you can stay in contact with your office, your home, emergency
servlces, etc.
Your LG-600 telephone is a radio transmitter and receiver. When it is ON, it
receives and also sends out radio frequency (RF) energy. The phone operates
in the frequency range of 824 MHz to 894 MHz. When you use your phone, the
system handling your call controls the power level at which your phone
transmits. The power level can range from 0.006 of a watt to 0.6 of a watt.
8.2. Exposure to Radio Frequency Energy
In 1991, the Institute of Electronical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and in
1992, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) updated the 1982 ANSI
Standard for safety levels with respect to human exposure to RF energy. Over
120 scientists, engineers, and physicians from universities, government health
agencies, and industry, after reviewing the available body of research,
developed this updated standard.
In March 1993, The US. Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
proposed the adoption of this updated standard.
The design of the LG—600 phone oomplies with this updated standard. Of
course, if you want to limit RF exposure even further than the updated ANSI
Standard, you may choose to control the duration of your calls and operate
your phone in the most power efficient manner.
8.3. For Best Performance
To properly operate the phone and maintain safe and satisfactory service,
follow these mles.
Extend the antenna fully.
Hold the phone with the antenna up and over your shoulder.
Do not hold the phone antenna at any time.
Do not use the phone with a damaged antenna.
Speak directly into the mouthpiece.
Use the phone when the car is stopped.

Remember to follow any special regulations in force in any given area. Always
turn off the phone wherever its use is forbidden or when it may cause
interference or danger.
8.5.1. Electronic Devices
Most modern electronic equipment is shielded from RF energy. However. RF
energy from Cellular telephones may affect inadequately shielded electronic
equipment.
RF energy may affect improperly installed or inadequately shielded electronic
operating and entertainment systems in motor vehicles. Check with the
manufacturer or its representative to determine if these systems are adequately
shielded from external RF energy.

8.5.2. Aircraft
Turn the phone off before boarding any aircraft. Use it on the ground only with
crew permission. Do not use it in the air. To prevent possible interference with
aircraft systems, U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations require
you to have permission from a crewmember to use your phone while the plane
is on the ground. To prevent interference with mobile phone systems, FCC
regulations prohibit using your phone while the plane is in the air,
8.5.3. Children
Do not allow children to play with your phone. It is not a toy. Children could hurt
themselves or others (by poking themselves or others in the eye with the
antenna for example). Also, children could damage the phone or make calls
that increase your telephone bills.
8.5.4. Blasting Areas
To avoid interfering with blasting operations, turn your phone OFF when in a
“blasting area" or in areas posted: “Turn off Mo—way radio.” Construction crews
often use remote control RF devices to set off explosives.
8.5.5. Potentially Explosive Atmospheres
Turn your phone OFF when in any area with a potentially explosive
atmosphere. It is rare but your phone or its accessories could generate sparks.
Sparks in such areas could cause an explosion or fire resulting in bodily injury
or even death.

marked. They include fueling areas such as gas stations; below deck on boats;
fuel or chemical transfer or storage facilities; areas where the air contains

Do not transport or store flammable gas, liquid, or explosives in the
compartment of your vehicle which contains your phone or accessories.
Vehicles using liquefied petroleum gas (such as propane or butane) must
