6FEATURE OF THIS TVWhat is a Plasma TV?Using plasma is the best way to achieve flat paneldisplays with excellent image quality and large screensizes that are easily viewable. The Plasma TV can bethought of as a descendant of the neon lamp and ora series of fluorescent lamps. How does it work?Plasma TV is an array of cells, known as pixels, whichare comprised of three sub-pixels, corresponding tothe colors red, green, and blue. Gas in a plasma stateis used to react with phosphors in each sub-pixel toproduce colored light (red, green, or blue). Thesephosphors are the same types used in Cathode RayTube (CRT) devices such as televisions and commoncomputer monitors.Plasma TV offers a rich, dynamic display because eachsub-pixel is individually controlled by advancedelectronics to produce over 16 million differentcolors. This means that you get perfect images thatare easily viewable in a display that is fewer than fiveinches thick.160° - Wide angle range of visionYour flat panel plasma screen offers an exceptionallybroad viewing angle of over 160 degrees. This meansthat the display is clear and visible to viewers anywherein the room. Wide ScreenThe wide screen offers a theater-like experience inyour own home.Multimedia Connect your plasma display to a PC and use it forconferencing, games, and Internet browsing. ThePicture-in-Picture feature allows you to view your PCand video images simultaneously.VersatileThe light weight and thin size makes it easy to installyour plasma display in a variety of locations whereconventional TVs do not fit.The Plasma TV Manufacturing Process: a fewminute colored dots may be present on thePlasma TV screenThe Plasma TV is composed of 0.9 to 2.2 millioncells. A few cell defects will normally occur in thePlasma TV manufacturing process. Several tiny, minutecolored dots visible on the screen should be acceptable. This also occurs in other Plasma TV manufacturers'products. The tiny dots appearing does not meanthat this Plasma TV is defective. Thus a few celldefects are not sufficient cause for the Plasma TV tobe exchanged or returned. Our production technologyminimizes these cell defects during the manufactureand operation of this product. Cooling Fan Noise-This feature is not available for all models. In the same way that a fan is used in a PC computerto keep the CPU (Central Processing Unit) cool, thePlasma TV is equipped with cooling fans to cool theMonitor and improve its reliability. Therefore, a certainlevel of noise could occur while the fans are operatingand cooling the Plasma TV.The fan noise doesn't have any negative effect on thePlasma TV's efficiency or reliability. The noise fromthese fans is normal during the operation of thisproduct. We hope you understand that a certain levelof noise from the cooling fans is acceptable and is notsufficient cause for the Plasma TV to be exchanged orreturned.FOR LCD TVIf the TV feels cold to the touch, there may be a small“flicker” when it is turned on. This is normal, there isnothing wrong with TV.Some minute dot defects may be visible on thescreen, appearing as tiny red, green, or blue spots. However, they have no adverse effect on the monitor'sperformance.Avoid touching the LCD screen or holding your finger(s)against it for long periods of time. Doing so mayproduce some temporary distortion effects on thescreen.OOnn DDiissppoossaalla. The fluorescent lamp used in this product containsa small amount of mercury.b. The Physical number is the actual digital channelnumber, the Major is the number that the channel shouldbe mapped to, and the Minor is the sub-channel. Sincethe ATSC tuner automatically maps the channel to theMajor number, the Physical number is not required whensending a command.Data 0: Physical Channel NumberNTSC air: 02~45, NTSC cable: 01, 0E~7DATSC air: 01~45, ATSC cable: 01~87Data1 & 2: Major Channel Number Data1: High byte Data2: Low byteTwo bytes are available for the Major and Minor, nor-mally only the second byte is used. Data3 & 4: Minor Channel Number Not needed for NTSC.
APPENDIX95Data5:The table above lists the binary code which must beconverted to Hexadecimal before sending. For example:The binary code to tune the sub source to an NTSCcable channel is “1000 0001”, which translates to “81”in Hex.* 7th bit : For which source do you want to change thechannel.* 6th bit: Use a two part or one part channel. Most casesjust use 0 since it’s ignored when using NTSC.* 5th bit: Use 0 with NTSC since it can only use the phys-ical channel number. Normally use 1 for ATSC since mosttimes it doesn’t matter what the physical number is.* 4th bit: Set to 0.* 3-0 bits: Choose signal type.* Tune Command Examples:1.
