NOTE You can set the Power indicator to on or off by selecting OPTION in the main menus. yy ASSEMBLING AND PREPARING Setting up the Monitor set Using the Kensington security system 1 Lift and tilt the Monitor set into its upright position on a table. Leave a 10 cm (minimum) space from the wall for proper ventilation. 10 cm 10 cm The Kensington security system connector is located at the back of the Monitor set. For more information of installation and using, refer to the manual supplied with the Kensington security system or visit http://www.kensington.com . Connect the Kensington security system cable between the Monitor set and a table. 10 cm 10 cm 2 Connect the Power Cord to a wall outlet. NOTE AC-IN 3 Press button on the front switch panel to turn the power on. When monitor power is turned on, the 'Self Image Setting Function' is executed automatically. The Kensington security system is optional. You can obtain additional accessories from most electronics stores. ENG ENGLISH Mounting on a table 6 ASSEMBLING AND PREPARING Basic Adjustments of the Stand Push back the panel to the end, and use yy from the point that it automatically returns. ENGLISH ENG 1 Adjust the angle of the panel as follows. Tilt Range : 15° to 66° yy 15° Stand Panel 66° CAUTION Do not push the stand with basic adjustment to the direction of the panel. When you install the Monitor set using the wall mounting interface (optional parts), attach it carefully so it will not drop. Disconnect the power cord first, and then yy move or install the Monitor set. Otherwise electric shock may occur. If you install the Monitor set on a ceiling or yy slanted wall, it may fall and result in severe injury. Use an authorized LG wall mount and contact the local dealer or qualified personnel. Do not over tighten the screws as this may yy cause damage to the Monitor set and void your warranty. Use the screws and wall mounts that yy meet the VESA standard. Any damages or injuries by misuse or using an improper accessory are not covered by the warranty. NOTE Use the screws that are listed on the VESA yy standard screw specifications. The wall mount kit includes an installation yy manual and necessary parts. The wall mount bracket is optional. You can yy obtain additional accessories from your local dealer. The length of screws may differ depending yy on the wall mount. Be sure to use the proper length. For more information, refer to the yy instructions supplied with the wall mount. USING THE MONITOR SET USING THE MONITOR SET 2nd POS (Monitor) AC-IN LAN SERVICE LAN Cable (Not included) USB Cable (Not included) LAN Cable (Not included) Router Switching hub LAN Cable (Not included) LAN Cable (Not included) Not included 1 Connect the router or switching hub to the monitor with a LAN cable. 2 Remove the power cable from the 2nd POS 2nd POS (Monitor) (monitor). Option Install the display link and EST network USB setting utility onto the host POS, and then reboot it. 4 Connect the power cable to the 2nd POS (monitor). 5 Install the LG network service driver, and check Host POS that the screen blinks as many times as the number of 2nd POSs (monitors), and then reboot it. 6 Check that the 2nd POSs (monitors) operate normally and also that the touch response works properly. NOTE 7 Install SoftXpand Xpress. The LAN and USB cables are optional. You can purchase them from an electronics store, online yy stores, or your local LG stockist. You can connect up to five monitors to the host POS. If you need to connect more monitors than the yy number of ports in the router, use the switching hub to connect. CAUTION The display link and EST network USB setting utility should already be installed before connecting yy the power cable for the 2nd POS (monitor). As of April 2011, the host POS authorized by the network POS is the HANASIS MICUS37 model. yy For additional models, visit http://networkmonitor.lge.com. The warranty does not cover any damage caused by the use of products other than the authorized yy host POS. LANGUAGE OSD POSITION HORIZONTAL ENGLISH VERTICAL 4 When you are finished, press EXIT. When you return to the previous menu, press MENU. SOUND ON 1 POWER INDICATOR ON FACTORY RESET NO The available time settings are described in the following: Menu Description LANGUAGE To choose the language in which the control names are displayed. OSD POSITION To adjust position of the OSD window on the screen. SOUND xxxxxxx POWER INDICATOR Use this function to set the power indicator on the front side of the monitor to ON or OFF. If you set OFF, it will go off. If you set ON at any time, the power indicator will automatically be turned on. FACTORY RESET Restore all factory default settings except "LANGUAGE." Press the ▼ , ▲ buttons to reset immediately. NOTE If this does not improve the screen image, restore the factory default settings. yy If necessary, perform the white balance function again. yy TROUBLESHOOTING 15 Check the following before calling for service. No image appears Is the power cord of the display connected? Is the power indicator light on? Is the power on and the power indicator blue or green? Is the power indicator flickering? yy Check and see if the power cord is connected properly to the power outlet. yy Press the Power button. yy Adjust the brightness and the contrast. yy If the display is in power saving mode, try moving the mouse or pressing any key on the keyboard to bring up the screen. yy Try to turn on the PC. Do you see a "OSD LOCKED" message on the screen? Do you see “OSD LOCKED” when you push MENU button? yy You can secure the current control settings, so that they cannot be inadvertently changed. You can unlock the OSD controls at any time by pushing the MENU button for several seconds: the message yy “OSD UNLOCKED” will appear. Display image is incorrect The screen color is mono or abnormal. The screen blinks. yy Check if the signal cable is properly connected and use a screwdriver to fasten if necessary. yy Make sure the video card is properly inserted in the slot. yy Set the color setting higher than 24 bits (Color Quality) at Control Panel ► Settings. yy Check if the screen is set to interlace mode and if yes, change it to the recommend resolution. Touch screen does not work. Did you install the touch screen driver? yy Install the touch screen driver on the installation CD bundled with the product. yy Make sure that the USB cable for touch screen is connected to your PC. yy Make sure your PC and accessories are USB-enabled. Electronic equipment in offices is often left running continuously, resulting in unnecessary consumption of large amounts of energy and additional power generation. From the standpoint of carbon dioxide emissions alone, it is vital to save energy. Ecological requirements Flame retardants Flame retardants may be present in printed wiring board laminates, cables, and housings. Their purpose is to prevent, or at least to delay the spread of fire. Up to 30% by weight of the plastic in a computer casing can consist of flame retardant substances. Many flame retardants contain bromine or chlorine, and these flame retardants are chemically related to PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls). Both the flame retardants containing bromine or chlorine and the PCBs are suspected of giving rise to health effects, including reproductive damage in fisheating birds and mammals, due to the bio-accumulative* processes when not disposed of in accordance with strict standards for disposal. What does labelling involve? The product meets the requirements for the TCO’99 scheme which provides for international and environmental labelling of personal computers and/or displays. The labelling scheme was developed as a joint effort by the TCO (The Swedish Confederation of Professional Employees), Svenska Naturskyddsforeningen (The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation) and Statens Energimyndighet (The Swedish National Energy Administration). Approval requirements cover a wide range of issues: ecology, ergonomics, emission of electrical and magnetical fields, energy consumption and electrical safety. TCO’99 requires that plastic components weighing more than 25 grams shall not contain flame retardants with organically bound bromine or chlorine. Flame retardants are allowed in the printed wiring board laminates due to the lack of commercially available alternatives. Ecological criteria impose restrictions on the presence and use of heavy metals, brominated and chlorinated flame retardants, and other substances. The product must be prepared for recycling and the manufacturing site(s) shall be certified according to ISO14001 or EMAS registered. Cadmium** Cadmium is present in rechargeable batteries and in the colour-generating layers of certain computer displays. TCO’99 requires that batteries, the colour-generating layers of display screens, and the electrical or electronics components shall not contain any cadmium. Energy requirements include a demand that the system unit and/or display, after a certain period of inactivity, shall reduce its power consumption to a lower level in one or more stages. The length of time to reactivate the system unit shall be reasonable for the user. Mercury** Mercury is sometimes found in batteries, relays and switches. TCO’99 requires that batteries shall not contain any mercury. It also demands that mercury is not present in any of the electrical or electronics components associated with the labelled unit. Important parameters are luminance, contrast, resolution, reflectance, colour rendition and image stability. Information for recycling This monitor may contain parts which could be hazardous to the environment. It is important that this monitor be recycled after use.
