It is pre-set with default settings allowing you to use it right away or it
can be congured to your specic needs using the PocketWizard Utility
which can be downloaded at:

ControlTL radios to the latest rmware for best functionality.

You need a FlexTT5 for each remote Speedlight.
• Set all radios to the same channel.
Basic Wireless
1. Slide FlexTT5® Transceiver onto camera.
2. Slide Speedlight onto remote FlexTT5 Transceiver. Set the Zone Switch to your desired
Zone. Repeat for each remote Speedlight.
Note: You need a receiving FlexTT5 for each remote Speedlight
3. Make sure all your PocketWizard® radios are on the same channel and take pictures
normally.

Advanced Wireless CLS / i-TTL
Flash on camera
1. Slide the FlexTT5® Transceiver onto the camera.
2. Slide the Speedlight onto the camera mounted FlexTT5 radio. Set the Zone Switch to
your desired Zone. The On Camera Speedlight will use the power level for its
corresponding zone.
3. Slide Speedlight onto remote FlexTT5 Transceiver.
Note: You need a receiving FlexTT5 for each remote Speedlight
4. Set Zone Switch (A, B, C) on remote FlexTT5. All remote i-TTL Speedlights on the
same group/zone will be treated as one zone of light.
5. Adjust flash output level compensation using the controls on the Panasonic GH4.
Note: See Panasonic Manual for Flash Power Settings
6. Make sure all your PocketWizard® radios are on the same channel and take pictures normally.
ISO, aperture, ash exposure compensation (FEC), and other settings will work with exposure
normally via the PocketWizard ControlTL® system.
Note: Changes to camera ISO, lens zoom, etc, will not appear on remote ash LCD.
Remote ash with or without CLS / i-TTL ash on camera
1. Slide FlexTT5® Transceiver onto camera.

Attach ControlTL or standard PocketWizard® radio to studio ash.
Make sure all your PocketWizard radios are on the same channel and take pictures normally.
Note: Manual remote flashes are not calculated as part of the TTL exposure. For proper
exposure, adjust your camera’s exposure settings, or adjust the power level directly on your
remote ash.

Status LED
Normal “waiting for trigger” operation = short blink every 2 seconds.
Normal short blink color indicates battery level:
Green Good battery
Amber Warning – battery low
Red Very low battery – change immediately
Steady red LED in sync with TEST indicates normal transmission.
(Hold for 10 seconds to teach – see Learn mode)
Short red blink in sync with trigger indicates normal reception.
Rapid red blinking when not triggering or half-pressing camera indicates error condition.
Power off the unit, reset all connections, and power back on.
Other Functions
RESET
RESET A / CHANNEL RESET:
To reset to channels programmed in the PocketWizard Utility, hold TEST on power up.
LED blinks green twice to indicate reset. Release TEST. Advanced features set via
PocketWizard Utility will be retained.
RESET B / FACTORY DEFAULTS:
To reset all advanced features and channels to FACTORY DEFAULTS, hold TEST on power up
for longer than 10 seconds. When LED blinks green 4 times, release.

or the help text in the Utility for detailed descriptions of these settings.

Panasonic cameras and Speedlights compatible with
PocketWizard ControlTL radios:
The FlexTT5 is compatible with the GH4 Camera and the DMW-FL580L and DMW-FL360L
