OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION
This d e vic e is a La ird SSD45N ra d io m o d ule w hic h sup p o rts IEEE 802.11a / b / g / n sta nd a rd s via a n
SDIO (Se c ure Dig ita l Inp ut/ O utp ut) inte rfa c e . The ra d io o p e ra te s in unlic e nse d p o rtio ns o f the 2.4
G Hz a nd 5 G Hz ra d io fre q ue nc y sp e c trum . The d e vic e is c o m p lia nt with IEEE 802.11a , 802.11b ,
802.11g , a nd 802.11n sta nd a rd s using Dire c t Se q ue nc e Sp re a d Sp e c trum (DSSS) a nd O rtho g o na l
Fre q ue nc y Divisio n Multip le xing (O FDM). The d e vic e sup p o rts a ll 802.11a , 802.11b , 802.11g , a nd
802.11n d a ta ra te s a nd a uto m a tic a lly a d justs d a ta ra te s a nd o p e ra tio na l m o d e s b a se d o n

fully inte g ra te d d ua l-b a nd ra d io tra nsc e ive r. To m a xim ize o p e ra tio na l ra ng e , the SSD45N
inc o rp o ra te s e xte rna l 2.4 a nd 5 G Hz p o w e r a m p lifie rs (PA) to inc re a se tra nsm it p o w e r. The
fre q ue nc y sta b ility fo r b o th 2.4 G Hz (802.11b a nd 802.11g ) a nd 5 G Hz (802.11a ) o p e ra tio n is +/ 20 p p m .

It is recommended that the peak temperature at the solder joint be within 240°C ~ 250°C and the
maximum component temperature should not exceed 250°C.

It is recommended that time above 220°C for the solder joints is between 60-80s, and with a
minimum of 50s.

Excessive ramp/cooling rates (>3°C/s) should be avoided.
To develop the reflow profile, it is recommended that the user place thermocouples at various locations
on the assembly to confirm that all locations meet the profile requirements. The critical locations are the
solder joints of SiP Module.
When developing the reflow profile, it is recommended that the actual fully loaded assembly be used to
make sure that the total thermal mass is accounted for.
