Overview
L1 SMS mini tracker allows the user to track the location of L1 by SMS with
smartphones that have L1 app installed. The app can be installed on both Android and
iOS smartphones, and tracking can be completed with simple operations. The security
mode safeguards your car, scooter, or bicycle. When you put L1 on the vehicle and
anybody moves it, L1 will serve as your dutiful dedicated security guard that
immediately displays the current location of your vehicle on the map, and will keep
sending the moving route and direction on the app.
The thoughtful L1 satisfies the needs of multi-user tracking. Through a matching
process, up to four smartphones with L1 app installed can track the same L1 at any
time at will. The security setting that the administrator assigned can apply to all of the
smartphones, so that all users will be notified when the security is triggered. With
your car granted extra care, you are giving yourself peace of mind.
L1 provides the location of the tracker and displays it on the map with industry’s
unique SMS communication mechanism. The introduction of prepaid cards eliminates
the need of the monthly fee of the SIM Card commonly used for GPRS or 3G
communication mechanism. Users not only save big bucks but also enjoy three major
functions: ”mobile surveillance”, ”mobile security”, and ”multi-user surveillance”.

3. ”Mobile surveillance” provides users with intuitive operation to query the current
location of L1. ”Mobile security” uses motion-detection technology to continuously
notify matched smartphones of the location and direction of L1. ”Multi-user
surveillance” allows your family and friends to keep an eye on your car with you. It
is a solution with three major functions, repeated care, and triple satisfaction.
4. Prepaid cards replaced the all-you-can-eat contract SIM Card used in other trackers
that rely on GPRS or 3G. You only pay for what you used; no monthly fees and no
contract to worry about.
5. Tiny in size but high in power; no power supply required but with up to 120 hours
standby time. When the battery is low, it will automatically notify the user to
charge.

L1 has been tested and found to comply with the international radio wave emission
exposure guidelines. Since L1 is a radio wave transmitter and receiver, it is designed
not to exceed the limit of the radio wave based on the guideline developed by an
independent scientific organization, ICNIRP. This guideline contains the safety
margins designated to assure the protection of people of all ages and conditions of
health. The Max BODY SAR for 850 baseband is 0.209(W/KG), for 1900 baseband
is 1.16(W/KG).

General Information
1. The operation and positioning accuracy of the Global Positioning System, GPS, is
maintained by the Defense Department of the United States of America. Based
on its public policy and national security, the US government reserves the right
to alter the GPS system and its accuracy without forewarning.
2.
Although L1 has undergone several safety tests and conforms to a number of
national security standards, using the device could become risky in certain
abnormal climatic or seismic conditions without correct operation. Please read the
manual carefully before operating the device.
3. As with other GSM mobiles, the electric magnetic wave may affect the
functioning of medical instruments. If you wear heart-rate monitor, do not
position L1 in front of the chest. It is best to keep a distance of at least 6 inches
between L1 and the monitor. When close to other medical instruments, turn L1
off.
4. For your safety, when aboard on an aircraft follow the L1 power off procedure.
5. In restricted areas such as gas stations or in the vicinity of explosives, please shut
down L1. Under no conditions should you use L1 near fuel or flammable
materials.
6. Only Leadtek service providers have the authority to repair L1.
7. As L1 is not water-proof, make sure to take appropriate precautions in humid or
rainy weather and keep it dry at all times.
8. Before connecting any other device to L1, please read detailed instructions in the
user manual. To avoid any possible damage do not connect L1 to any
incompatible product.
9. It is normal for the L1 to become warm during operation.
10. Specification and functions vary in different areas.
11. A different network setup, various makes of SIM card, and different modes of
operation could be the cause of varying rates of L1's power consumption.
12. L1 is GSM 900/1800 ready. Before using the device you should purchase an
SIM card from a local telecommunication service provider. This service should
include at least the GSM short message service.
13. Try to use L1 with its face up and avoid metal covering its surface, which will
cause bad or no GPS reception.
14. L1 uses an app that
can be installed on both Android and iOS smartphones. The
app can be used for free within one year from the date it was purchased and
installed. Once it expires, the app will send out an automatic reminder. To extend
the period of use, please follow the app reminder to complete the purchase and
you can continue to use it.
Battery Safety Notices
Failing to use the battery correctly could be hazardous. Please pay attention to the
following.
1. Please use the included power adapter and USB cable to charge the battery. Please
refer to the manual for charging instructions.
2. If any of the following occurs during charging, stop charging immediately and
unplug the power adapter:
Power cord or power adapter has wears or ruptures.
The power adapter produces high temperature, heat, smoke, and other
abnormalities.
L1 produces high temperature, heat, smoke, swell, deformation, battery leakage,
and other abnormalities.
The power adapter becomes damp due to water, liquid, or moisture.
3. Your L1 is powered by a rechargeable battery that can be frequently charged and
discharged.
4. Do not attempt to replace the battery in L1. The battery can only be replaced by
Leadtek authorized service providers or dealers.
5. Do not apply any steel tools or any other hard objects to L1 and avoid stepping on
it. Any of the latter could cause battery leakage with adverse results.
6. Do not heat L1 or place it close to the source of fire, a stove, or any heated
environment over 80
℃
; short circuiting could result in smoke emission or a fire.
7. Charge the battery in normal temperature conditions. Avoid direct exposure to the
sun, stove, or any other environment where the temperature exceeds 80
℃
. Follow
the manual for proper battery charging procedure and pay close attention while
this takes place.
8. If the battery is charged in an abnormal environment the battery protection device
will fail. An adverse chemical reaction will result as well as a potentially
hazardous surge in electrical current.
9. Charging the battery for longer than the recommended charging time will shorten
battery life. If the battery does not fully charge in the set time, stop charging
immediately to avoid fire.
10. Avoid direct physical contact with any battery leakage. If there is any contact
with battery leakage, make sure there is no contact between hands and eyes.
Wash eyes with running water and consult with a doctor immediately if any
contact accidentally occurs.
