INTRODUCTION
INSTALLING YOUR DIMMER MODULE
Leviton’s ViziaTM RF components are designed to
communicate with each other via Radio Frequency
(RF) to provide remote control of your lighting. Using
RF technology allows Leviton to provide the greatest
signal integrity possible. Each module in Leviton’s
ViziaTM RF component line is a Z-waveTM enabled
device. In a Z-waveTM network, each device is
designed to act as a router. These routers will
re-transmit the RF signal from one device to another
until the intended device is reached. This ensures that
the signal is received by its intended device by routing
the signal around obstacles and radio dead spots.
The RZPØ3 Plug-in Dimmer Module is fully compatible
with any Z-wave™ enabled network, regardless of the
manufacturer and can also be used with other devices
displaying the Z-wave™ logo.
CAUTION:
Remember to exercise good common sense when
using the Home Automation features of your remote,
especially when scheduling unattended devices.
There can be some unexpected consequences if not
used with care. For example, an empty coffee pot can
be remotely turned on. If that should happen, your
coffee pot could be damaged from overheating. If an
electric heater is turned on by remote control while
clothing is draped over it, a fire could result. DO NOT
USE the remote for the control of high power heating
appliances such as portable heaters. This device
will not control lighting that is used with electronic
low-voltage and high frequency power supply
transformers, nor high pressure discharge lamps
(HID lighting). This includes mercury-vapor, sodium
vapor and metal halide lamps.

NOTE: In order to use your ViziaTM RF Module in a
Z-waveTM network, it must be enrolled into the network
using a Primary Programmer/Controller, such as
Leviton’s Cat. No., RZCPG-1LG. Before enrolling your
module, please refer to the Primary Programmer/
Controller instruction sheet for complete information.
Refer to Step 3 for further details.
• Locate lamp to be controlled by Plug-In Dimmer
Module and ensure it is fully operational. Attach lamp
plug into Plug-in Dimmer Module receptacle noting
proper polarity of blades.

Some non-Leviton programmers may be built on older
Z-Wave™ libraries which may require your module to
be replicated in the network instead of enrolling it to
the network. First try to enroll module in your network.
If it is unable to enroll, refer to the Primary Controller/
Programmer instruction sheet for replicating a device.
A) When first powering Plug-In Dimmer Module, there is
a 30 second enrollmemnt access period before your
module times out.
Within 30 seconds, depress and hold the
programming button located on the front of the
module until the LED beneath the button turns to solid
Amber (approx. 10 seconds).
NOTE: If Plug-In Dimmer Module Programming and
ON/OFF Button
times out, unplug module from
receptacle and plug back in. The
30 second enrollmemnt access
period will then begin again.
B) After LED turns solid Amber,
release the button. The LED will
start to blink Amber.
The unit is now in the Enrollment/
Un-enrollment mode.
If necessary to exit the
Enrollment/Un-enrollment mode,
press the programming button.
E) The Primary Programmer/
Controller will prompt you to chose
a node ID number (Name) for this
module.
NOTE: Keep a record of the ID
number (Name) associated to this
module for future reference.
F) After the module is enrolled, the
Z-waveTM Programmer/Controller
will give a confirmation message

Step 4 Un-enrolling Plug-In Dimmer
Module from Network:
TROUBLESHOOTING
OPERATION
NOTE: It is very important to accurately un-enroll
devices from the network. This ensures that all
information has been removed from your Primary
Programmer/Controller’s information table and is not
counted on to be a part of the mesh network.
A) To un-enroll module refer to Step 3A and 3B to
enter programming for Enrollment/Un-enrollment
mode.
B) With the module now in the Enrollment/Unenrollment mode, use your Primary Programmer/
Controller to un-enroll or to remove the module
from your network.
NOTE: Only one module may be removed at a
time.
NOTE: After initial enrollment, some Z-wave™
Programmer/Controllers will allow you to enter
Enrollment/Un-enrollment mode using just the
Z-wave™ Programmer/Controller and not having to
press the programming button on the module. Follow
the directions for the Z-wave™ Primary Programmer/
Controller for that module.
Factory Default:
If your module is not responding, or you are unable
to control it after you have tried to Enroll/Un-enroll
it multiple times, it may be necessary to reset the
module to its original factory settings. To accomplish
this, proceed as follows:
• Unplug the module and wait 5 seconds. Plug the
module back in and within 30 seconds press and
hold the programming button until the LED turns
RED. The module is now reset. Once the module
is reset, it will be necessary to re-enroll it into a
network before it can be used.
NOTE: For complete details on operating the Primary
Programmer/Controller, refer to the individual device’s
instruction guide.
ON: This command will BRIGHTEN the lights to the last
level set.
OFF: This command will DIM the lights to OFF.
BRIGHTEN: This command will BRIGHTEN the lights to
the desired level.
DIM: This command will DIM the lights to the desired
level.
MANUAL ON: If Plug-In Dimmer Module is OFF, turn
the switch located on the controlled lamp OFF for a few
seconds, then ON again. The Plug-In Dimmer Module
will turn the lamp ON to full BRIGHT. This procedure
can be used to turn ON the lamp without accessing the
transmitter.
NOTE: If a power interruption should occur while the
device is ON, the light load will return to its previous state
when power is restored.
NOTE: The RZPØ3 Plug-In Dimmer Module can control
the Load before being enrolled in the Z-waveTM network.
After powering up Plug-In Dimmer module, wait 10
seconds, then the Programming ON/OFF button to turn
the Load ON or OFF.
OUT OF NETWORK OPERATION:
DEFAULT DOES NOT UN-ENROLL THAT DEVICE
FROM A NETWORK. THE UN-ENROLLMENT
PROCEDURE MUST STILL BE FOLLOWED TO
REMOVE THE DEVICE FROM THE PRIMARY
CONTROLLER’S INFORMATION TABLE. FAILURE
TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN SYSTEM THAT IS
SLOW TO RESPOND, OR MAY FAIL TO RESPOND
TO SOME DEVICES.
1. Confirm that the device is being supplied from a 120V,
60Hz AC source ONLY.
2. Confirm that the load being controlled is in proper
working order (local switch is ON) and check for
burned-out bulbs.
