Initial Charging of LifeBeacon™
1.
Remove LifeBeacon™, Charging Cradle
and A/C Power Adaptor from Box
DO NOT TURN ON THE
LIFEBEACON™ YET!
2.
Plug A/C Adaptor into the Charging
Cradle and A/C Power Source.
3.
Make sure the LifeBeacon ™ is
Correctly Positioned in the Charging
Cradle with the watch facing front, the
SOS Button facing up and the Charging
Contacts facing bottom. Improper
placement may accidentally activate
the SOS Button if positioned
incorrectly. Proper charging will be
indicated by a blue light turning on
inside the SOS button.
4.
When the LifeBeacon™ is fully charged,
the watch face will show an image of a
filled in battery and a caption saying
“Charging OK”

Remove the fully charged LifeBeacon™
from the Charging Cradle .

Initial Power Up of LifeBeacon™
1.
Take the fully charged LifeBeacon™
outside under open sky
2.
Press and hold the power button on
the lower left side of the LifeBeacon™
for at least 3 seconds
3.
You will hear a distinctive musical
chime and an audible message saying
“GPS signal …………………………..” The
watch face will display the word
“searching” and the audio message will
repeat until Satellite location is
determined
4.
When the satellite location has been
determined, (usually within 5 minutes)
you will hear an audible message
saying “…………………………………………”
and the watch face will show the
correct time and date.
5.
Your LifeBeacon™ is now properly
initialized and ready to operate

Initial Test of LifeBeacon™
1.
When testing the LifeBeacon™ , press
and hold the SOS Button located on the
left side for 3 seconds
2.
Your will hear an audible message say
“SOS alert activated, please wait while
we contact emergency assistance” and
a message that says “SOS Activated”
will appear on the screen while you
wait for the operator to connect to the
LifeBeacon™
3.
If possible, hold the LifeBeacon™ close
to your head to make sure you can
clearly talk and listen to the operator
when they begin communicating with
you
4.
The operator’s phone number will
display on the watch face when
connected and the operator will begin
talking directly to you through the
LifeBeacon™ to ask if you need help
and assistance.
5.
When Testing, tell the operator you are
simply testing and they will confirm a
successful test and tell you where you
are located if you ask them.
6.
The operator will automatically
disconnect with the LifeBeacon™ when
appropriate and the watch display will
return to normal

Normal Operation and Charging of LifeBeacon™
1.
During normal every day wear, the
LifeBeacon™ operates as a digital watch
which will display the time and date
2.
The LifeBeacon™ battery can last up to 48
hours but should be charged on a daily
basis (suggested during sleep) to ensure
functionality when being worn
3.
When the LifeBeacon™ battery gets too low
on charge, an audible reminder message
will say “The Battery is low, please place
the device in the charging unit provided”
See section “A” for instructions on charging
the LifeBeacon™
4.

Even when the LifeBeacon™ is charging, the
SOS alert button will be indicated by a blue
light and available for use if necessary

5.
The LifeBeacon™ is an electronic device,
please take care not to damage it.

The LifeBeacon™ may be worn when
washing hands but cannot be submerged in
water. Take care not to bathe or shower
while wearing LifeBeacon™ unless it is
covered with a waterproof protective cover.

Emergency Activation of LifeBeacon™
1.
When activating the LifeBeacon™ for
emergency assistance, press and hold
the SOS Button located on the left side
for 3 seconds
2.
Your will hear an audible message say
“SOS alert activated, please wait while
we contact emergency assistance” and
the watch face will display “SOS
Activation” . At the same time, a
message will be sent to your emergency
contacts informing them of your alert.
3.
If possible, hold the LifeBeacon™ close
to your head to make sure you can
clearly talk and listen to the operator
when they begin communicating with
you

The operator’s phone number will
display on the watch face when
connected and the operator will begin
talking directly to you through the
LifeBeacon™ to ask if you need help
and assistance.
If possible, speak clearly to the
operator Explain the situation and your
location as best as you can. Even if you
are unable to speak, the operator will
attempt to locate your position using
GPS and dispatch emergency response
to your location. The operator will
disconnect when appropriate

Accidental Activation of LifeBeacon™
False alarms result if you accidentally activate your LifeBeacon™ as if it were a
real medical emergency.
1.
If you accidentally activate your LifeBeacon™ remain calm and avoid
panic
2.
The LifeBeacon™ will connect to the operator as if it were an
emergency.
3.
When the operator connects to the LifeBeacon™, you must explain
that you accidentally activated the LifeBeacon™ and that you don’t
need any medical assistance as it is a false alarm‐Otherwise emergency
responders may be dispatched for no reason.
4.
The operator will acknowledge the false alarm and disconnect from the
LifeBeacon™.
5.
The LifeBeacon™ will return to its normal state
False alarms should be avoided but if they happen, LifeBeacon™ is
designed so you can communicate directly with the operator to affirm
or negate an alarm before emergency responders are dispatched.

Wearing LifeBeacon™ (Pendant)
The LifeBeacon™ easily attaches to the
included lanyard to be worn as a
pendant around the neck.

Attach the included lanyard to the
LifeBeacon™ by slipping the lanyard
loop through the opening located at the
top of the LifeBeacon™.
Simply place the lanyard around the
neck to wear the LifeBeacon™ as a
pendant.

LifeBeacon™ to be worn as a watch

Turn “OFF” the LifeBeacon™ by pressing the
POWER button located on the lower
left side for at least 30 seconds.

post slots located at the top and

Firmly press the Post Removal Tool
through the slot openings to push out
the posts
4.
Remove the Plastic Blanks located at
the top and bottom of the
LifeBeacon™ please keep the plastic
blanks in order to reinstall for the
purpose of wearing LifeBeacon™ as a
pendant in the future if need be.
5.
Place Long Watch Band into the top
bracket of LifeBeacon™ and begin
sliding post through the slot opening
and Long Watch Band
6.
Use Post Removal Tool to firmly press
posts all the way through and into the
opposite slot opening in order to
secure the Long Watch Band.
7.
Repeat steps 5‐6 using the Short Watch
Band to secure it to the bottom of the
LifeBeacon™
8.
Properly secure the LifeBeacon™ on to
the wrist to wear it as a watch

Changing Battery of LifeBeacon™
If LifeBeacon ™ battery dies and recharging is not
feasible, an extra battery has been provided for such a
situation. It is recommended that you be assisted by a
loved one or care giver to change the battery. You can
charge the included extra battery by placing it in the
charging receptacle located on the top of the charging
cradle

If LifeBeacon™ happens to still be “on”, turn “off”
LifeBeacon™ by pressing the power button on the
lower left side for at least 30 seconds.
Turn LifeBeacon™ over so you are looking at the
back and orient it so the power button is located
on the upper left side and the thumb grip is on
the right side of the battery cover.
Place your thumb on the battery cover and slide
the battery cover to the right.
Tilt the top of the battery cover towards you and
remove.
Lift the battery out by using the battery tab on the
left side of the battery.
Place charged battery in the battery slot with the
writing on the battery facing you and the battery
tab on the left. Press battery into place.
Hold the battery cover with the thumb grip on the
right. Slide battery cover into place by inserting
the bottom of the cover into the battery cover
slots and tilting the top of the battery cover into
place. Then slide the battery cover to the left to
secure it.
Take LifeBeacon™ outside under an open sky and
follow the directions found in section B: Initial
Power Up of LifeBeacon™ to reinitialize GPS
signal.

Important Things to Know About LifeBeacon™
1.
LifeBeacon™ operates like a cellular phone. The strength of the cellular
signal will fluctuate depending on its location. LifeBeacon™ must have
adequate cellular signal in order to function properly. Try and remain in
areas of adequate cellular signal while wearing the LifeBeacon™. There is
a cellular signal strength indicator in the upper right corner of the watch
screen outlined below:

LifeBeacon™ depends on Global Positioning Satellites (GPS) to accurately
locate you when activated. The GPS accuracy may fluctuate depending on
whether you are outside or inside and the type of building you are in.
LifeBeacon ™ is made to locate you in real time and/or your last known
location taken at frequent intervals. The LifeBeacon™ will locate you
either in or near the location where you are at the time of activation.
3.
LifeBeacon™ battery life should last well over 24 hours but can fluctuate
depending on its usage. Make sure to keep it adequately charged.
4.
LifeBeacon™ is resistant to minor water exposure during hand washing or
when it is raining. Please be mindful not to submerge or deluge the
LifeBeacon™ with water or liquid as it is NOT WATER PROOF.
5.
LifeBeacon™ is relatively durable but must be treated with care to
protect the sensitive electronics contained inside.
6.
LifeBeacon™ contains a cellular phone, and as such must be turned off
during an airplane flight according to FCC and FAA rules.

Additional Technical Information
1.
GPS coordinate information is sent to the monitoring center via GPRS
and/or SMS.
2.
Emergency calls are made through GSM voice mode.
3.
The LifeBeacon™ can only initiate and receive voice calls to and from
the Monitoring Center.
4.
GPS coordinates can only be transmitted to the Tracking Information
Center (either by GPRS or SMS).
5.
The Tracking Information Center can change the frequency of GPS
coordinate and location reporting . The shortest interval of GPS
coordinate and location reporting is available once every three minutes.
