Setting UpThe Handle
1.

Remove cable tie (if present) securing upper handle to
lower handle for shipping purposes. Remove all protective
plastic wrapping

from handles.

NOTE: Be careful NOT to remove the two loosely fitted
cable ties that will be utilized later to secure cables.
2.

Loosen and remove the wing knob, saddle washer, handle
tab and carriage screw on each side of the lower handle.
See Fig. 3-1.

Two cable ties have been used to loosely tie the control
cables to the lower handle, including the cable tie you
relocated

in step 3. A push clip is also included

on the

lower drive cable. Position cable ties now, as in Fig. 3-3, and
tighten to secure cables to the lower handle. Trim off excess
material of cable ties. If not already installed, push the clip
on the drive cable into the hole in the handle provided as
shown in the left inset below.

the flange bearings found at either end of the shaft.

MTDmustwarrantto the ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat the engineis:
(1) Designed,built,and equippedsoas to conformwith all applicableregulationsadoptedby the Air ResourcesBoardpursuantto its authorityin
Chapters1 and 2,Part 5, Division26 of the Healthand SafetyCode; and
(2) Freefrom defectsin materialsand workmanshipthat causethe failureof a warrantedpart to be identicalin all materialrespectsto the partas
describedin theengine manufacturer'sapplicationfor certificationfora periodof two years.
(b) The warrantyon emissions-relatedpartswill be interpretedas follows:

The limited warranty set forth below is given by MTD LLC with
respect to new merchandise purchased and used in the United States
and/or its territories and possessions, and by MTD Products Limited
with respect to new merchandise purchased and used in Canadaand/
or its territories and possessions (either entity respectively, "MTD").
"MTD" warrants this product (excluding its Normal Wear Parts and
Attachments as described below) against defects in material and
workmanship for a period of two (2) years commencing on the date
of original purchase and will, at its option, repair or replace, free of
charge, any part found to be defective in materials or workmanship.
This limited warranty shall only apply if this product has been
operated and maintained in accordance with the Operator's Manual
furnished with the product, and has not been subject to misuse,
abuse, commercial use, neglect, accident, improper maintenance,
alteration, vandalism, theft, fire, water, or damage because of other
peril or natural disaster. Damage resulting from the installation or use
of any part, accessory or attachment not approved by MTD for use
with the product(s) covered by this manual will void your warranty as
to any resulting damage.
Normal Wear Parts are warranted to be free from defects in material
and workmanship for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of
purchase. Normal wear parts include, but are not limited to items
such as: batteries, belts, blades, blade adapters, tines, grass bags,

care services or for rental expenses to temporarily replace a

In no event shall recovery of any kind be greater than the amount of

Extraiga la uni6n de cable (si la hay) que sujeta la barra
de control superior a la barra inferior para el envio. Saque
de las barras de control todos los envoltorios pl_sticos de
protecci6n.
NOTA:Asegurese de NO extraer las tres uniones de cable
flojas que se utilizar_n posteriormente
para sujetar los cables.

Afloje la perilla de aletas, la arandela c6ncava, la lengOeta de
la barra de control y el tornillo del carro que est_n a ambos
lados de la barra de control inferior y retirelos. Vea la Fig. 3-1.

Dos cables de sujeci6n se han utilizado para atar sin apretar
los cables de control de la manija inferior. Un clip de presi6n
tambi_n se incluye en el cable de la unidad inferior. Posici6n de
las ataduras de cables ahora, como en la figura. 3-3,y apriete
para fijar los cables a la manija inferior. Recorte el exceso de
material de las ataduras de cables. Instale el clip de presi6n en
el orificio en el mango como el indicado en el recuadro a la
izquJerda en la Figura 3-3.

La siguiente garantia Nmitada es otorgada por MTD LLC con respecto
a nuevos productos adquifidos y utiNzados en Estados Unidosy/o
sus territorios y posesiones, y por MTD Products Limited con
respecto a nuevos productos adquifidos y utiNzados en Canada
y/o sus territorios y posesiones (cualquiera de las dos entidades,
respectivamente, "MTD").
"MTD" garantiza este producto (excluidas las PiezasyAccesorios
con Desgaste Normal seg_n se describe mAs abajo) contra defectos
en los matefiales y mano de obra por un perfodo de dos (2) a_os
a partir de la fecha de compra original y, a su opci6n, repararA o
reemplazarA, sin costo alguno, cualquier pieza que presente defectos
en los materiales o de mano de obra. Esta garantia Nmitada s61o
se aplicarA si el producto ha sido operado y mantenido de acuerdo
con las instrucciones del Manual del Operador que se proporciona
con el producto y no ha sido objeto de uso inapropiado, abuso,
uso comercial, abandono, accidente, mantenimiento incorrecto,
alteraci6n, vandalismo, robo, incendio, inundaci6no alg_n da_o
debido a otro peligro o desastre natural. El da_o resultante por la
instalaci6no el uso de piezas, accesorios o uniones no aprobados por
MTD para su uso con el (los) producto(s) incluido(s) en este manual
anularA la garantfa en Io que respecta a esos da_os.
Se garantiza que las Piezas con OesgasteNormal estAn fibres
de defectos en los materiales y mano de obra por un perfodo de
treinta (30) dfas a partir de la fecha de compra. Las piezas sujetas
a desgaste normal incluyen pero no se limitan a: batefias, correas,
cuchillas, adaptadores para cuchillas, dientes, bolsas para pasto,
ruedas, ruedas para la plataforma de la mAquina, asientos, zapatas
antideslizantes para la mAquina quitanieve, ruedas de fricci6n, placas
de raspado, gomas helicoidales, aceite de motor, filtros de aire, bujias
y neumAticos.
Accesorios-- MTD garantiza que los accesorios de este producto
estAn fibres de defectos de material y mano de obra durante un
perfodo de un (1) a_o a partir de la fecha de compra o arrendamiento
original del accesorio. Los accesorios incluyen, pero no se limitan a:
colectores de c_sped y kits para abono.

b. Los artfculos necesarios para el mantenimiento de rutina como

No se aplican garanfias implfcitas, incluidas las garanfias
implicitas de comerciabilidad o de adecuaci6n para un prop6sito
determinado, despu_s del periodo de aplicaci6n de la garantia
escfita expresa extendida m_s arriba para las piezas de acuerdo
consu identificaci6n. Ninguna otra garantfa expresa, oral o
escrita, excepto la mencionada antefiormente, extendida pot
personas o personasjuridicas, incluidos los distfibuidores o
los minofistas con respecto a los productos, obligar_ a MTD.
Durante el plazo de la garantfa el _nico recurso es la reparaci6n o
reemplazo del productocomo se indic6 antefiormente.
Las disposiciones incluidas en esta garantfa proveen el
recurso _nico y exclusivo que surge de las ventas. MTD no
ser_ responsable pot p_rdidas o da_os incidentales o directos,
incluyendosin limites, los gastos incurfidos para los servicios de
cuidado del pasto de reemplazo o cambio, o los gastos de alquiler
para reemplazar de manera transitofia un producto bajo garantia.
Algunos estados no permiten la exclusi6n o limitaci6n de los da_os y
perjuicios incidentales o directos, o las limitaciones sobre la duraci6n
de las garantias implfcitas, por Io que las exclusiones o limitaciones
