Before using Rock Band 3 (the “software”) or the drum, guitar, keyboard and/or microphone intended for use with the software (each, a “controller”)
with the PlayStation 3 system , please read the PlayStation 3 system instruction manual for safety, health, and all other information and instructions
regarding the proper use of the PlayStation 3 system. For ease of reference, the term “game” shall refer collectively to the software and any and all
controllers.
All questions regarding the PlayStation 3 system should be directed to the manufacturer.
WARNING: NO CHILD UNDER 36 MONTHS OF AGE SHOULD USE OR PLAY WITH THE GAME. Controllers should be kept out of reach of young children
at all times. Controllers are suitable and intended only for use by adults and, if they are under strict adult supervision, for children who are at least 12
years of age.
CAUTION: Controllers must be handled and used with care to avoid injury. Controllers are to be used only where sufficient space is available to
prevent injury (by contact with any controller or other player) or damage (including to personal property). Care must be taken to never place fingers
under the keyboard during use. There is a potential risk of epileptic attacks that may be caused by video games.

FAQ
QUESTION: Is the Keyboard Controller backwards-compatible?
Answer: The Rock Band Keyboard Controller is not supported by previous Rock Band titles.  
Question: Is it okay to leave my wireless receivers plugged in even when the PlayStation 3 system is off?
Answer: It’s best to remove your wireless receivers from the USB connectors when not in use.
Question: How long should I hold down the sync buttons for?
Answer: The sync buttons only require a quick press and release in order to start the sync process.  As soon as you see the LED state change, you can
release pressure on the button.
QUESTION: What is that black port on the side of the Keyboard?
Answer: The Rock Band Keyboard Controller has built-in MIDI functionality that allows this peripheral to act as a MIDI controller when used with other
compatible devices.  Please see www.rockband.com/MIDI for more information about this feature and to download the MIDI manual.
Problem: My Keyboard Controller keeps disconnecting.
Solution 1: Ensure there are no 2.4 GHz wireless devices around that could potentially interfere with your Rock Band 3 Keyboard Controller. Common
offending devices include cordless phones, Wi-Fi routers, and microwaves.
Solution 2: Make sure that the batteries are not jarring loose during play. A thin layer of duct tape, cardboard, or weather-stripping foam on the inside of
the battery door can help secure the batteries during insane solos.
PROBLEM: My Keyboard Controller doesn't always engage Overdrive when I want it to.
Solution: Because it is designed to be played either on a level surface or while standing, there is no traditional “tilt” functionality in the Rock Band
Keyboard.  You can engage Overdrive by pressing the Sustain button, or by using any Rock Band kick pedal; simply plug the pedal into the 3.5 mm jack
on the side of your Keyboard Controller and depress the pedal to engage.
PROBLEM: I cannot tell if my Keyboard Controller is synced to the PlayStation 3 system.
Solution: Follow the graphical instructions on the previous pages to sync your Keyboard Controller to the PlayStation 3 system.  Remember, a successful
sync should result in a steady red LED on the wireless receiver, coupled with a steady red LED on the Keyboard Controller indicating the assigned
player number.
PROBLEM: The game is asking me for a microphone. I don’t want to be the singer.
Solution: If you want to play keyboard parts, sync the Keyboard Controller to your PlayStation 3 system, and then use it to navigate the in-game menus.  
Since the SIXAXIS™ wireless controller is used to control the vocal players’ settings, when one is connected to the Wii console, the game will look for
a microphone.
You should also be sure that the peripheral you are using is compatible with the software title you are playing. Please see
RockBand.com/compatibility for more information.
PROBLEM: I have multiple peripherals and I cannot plug them all in – there are only two ports!
Solution: Many of our Rock Band peripherals have wireless receivers that also have USB passthroughs that will allow you to attach multiple peripherals
using only two USB connectors.  Most powered USB hubs will expand your capabilities.  Please remember to never "daisy chain" a Rock Band wireless
receiver that has a USB passthrough into another Rock Band hub with a USB passthrough.  For examples of popular setups, please

For service under the warranty, DO NOT return the game or any portion of the game (including keyboard) to any retail store, even if that is where you originally purchased it. Retailers are NOT part of

2-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY (EUROPE ONLY)
Mad Catz warrants this product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the warranty period. This non-transferable, 2-year limited warranty is only to you, the first end-user purchaser. If
a defect covered by this warranty occurs AND you have registered your product with Mad Catz AND you provide proof of purchase, Mad Catz, at its option, will repair or replace the product at no charge.

IMPORTANT BATTERY INFORMATION FOR WIRELESS CONTROLLERS:
• Use only fresh AA standard alkaline batteries.
• Replace all used batteries at the same time and with the same type of batteries.
• Be sure to replace the batteries correctly by matching the + and – as shown in the instruction manual and the controller’s battery compartment. Never insert batteries backwards.
• If you know that you will not be using the controller for an extended period of time, we recommend that you remove the batteries.
• Do not mix old and new or different types of batteries.
• Remove exhausted batteries from the controller.
• Supply terminals are not to be short circuited.

Use this unit only as intended.

SEIZURES
Some indivduals may have seizures or black outs triggred by the flashing lights on television or in video games, even if they have never before had a seizure. Anyone who has had a seizure, loss of awareness, or other symptom linked to an epileptic condition should consult a doctor before playing a video game. Parents should be aware when their children play video games and observe them regularly.  
Stop playing and consult a doctor if you or your child have any of the following symptoms:

Loss of Awarenes
Involuntary Movements
Eye or Muscle Twitching
Altered Vision
Disorientation
When playing video games:
1. Sit or stand as far from the screen as possible.
2. Play video games on the smallest available screen.
3. Do not play if you are tired or need rest.
4. Play in a well-lighted room.
5. Take a 15-minute break every hour.
REPETITIVE MOTION INJURIES
Playing video games (and the repetitive motion involved) can make your muscles, joints or skin hurt.  Playing video games in moderation can help avoid such damage.  Also:
Take a 10- to 15-minute break every hour, even if you don’t think you need it.
If your hands, wrists or arms begin to hurt or feel sore or tired, stop playing and rest them for several hours before playing again. If pain and soreness continues, stop playing and consult a doctor.
