BRAND Owner's Manual MW-1680 2.0CH Wireless Sound Bar IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Caution: To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not dismantle the product and do not expose the apparatus to rain or moisture. No user-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified personnel only. Explanation of Graphical Symbols: The lightning flash within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert you to the presence of un-insulated dangerous voltage within the product's enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute an electric shock to a person or persons. The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert you to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the product. To achieve the utmost in enjoyment and performance, and in order to become familiar with its features, please read this manual carefully before attempting to operate this product. This will assure you years of trouble free performance and listening pleasure. Important Notes This safety and operating instruction should be retained for future reference. The apparatus should not be exposed to dripping or splashing or placed in a humid atmosphere such as a bathroom. Do not install the product in the following areas: Places exposed to direct sunlight or close to radiators. On top of other stereo equipment that radiate too much heat. Blocking ventilation or in a dusty area. Areas where there is constant vibration. Humid or moist places. Do not place near candles or other naked flames. Operate the product only as instructed in this manual. Before turning on the power for the first time, make sure the power adaptor is properly connected. For safety reasons, do not remove any covers or attempt to gain access to the inside of the product. Refer any servicing to qualified personnel. Do not attempt to remove any screws, or open the casing of the unit; there are no user serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 1. Read Instructions - All the safety and operating instructions must be read before the product is operated. 2. Retain Instructions - The safety and operating instructions should be kept with the product for future reference. 3. Heed warnings - All warnings on the product and in the operating instructions should be adhered to. 4. Follow instructions - All operating and users’ instructions should be followed. 5. Installation - Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. 6. Power sources - This product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated by the marking adjacent to the power cord entry. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult your product dealer or local power company. 7. Grounding- the product is not required to be grounded. Ensure that the plug is fully inserted into the wall outlet or extension cord receptacle to prevent blade or pin exposure. 8. Power cord protection - Power-supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on, kinked or pinched by items placed on or against them, paying particular attention to cords from plugs, receptacles and the point where they exit from the product. 9. Overloading - Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or multiple sockets, as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock. 10. Ventilation - The product must be properly ventilated. Do not place the product on a bed, sofa, or other similar surface. Do not cover the product with any items such as tablecloths, newspapers, etc. 11. Heat - The product should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other products, including amplifiers that produce heat. No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus. 12. Water and moisture - To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose the product to train, dripping, splashing or excessive moisture such as in a sauna or bathroom. Do not use this product near water, for example, near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, in a wet basement or near a swimming pool (or similar). 13. Object and Liquid Entry - Never push objects of any kind into this product through openings, as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-circuit parts that could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the product. Do not place any object containing liquid on top of the product. 14. Cleaning - Unplug the product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Dust in the woofer may be cleaned with a dry cloth. If you wish to use an aerosol cleaning spray, do not spray directly on the cabinet; spray onto the cloth. Be careful not to damage the drive units. 15. Attachments - Do not use attachments not recommended by the product manufacturer, as they may cause hazards. 16. Accessories - Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table. The product may fall, causing serious injury to a child or adult, and serious damage to the product. Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table recommended by the manufacturer or sold with the product. Any mounting of the product should follow the manufacturer’s instructions and should use a mounting accessory recommended by the manufacturer. 17. Moving the product - A product and cart combination should be moved with care. Quick stops, excessive force and uneven surfaces may cause the product and cart combination to overturn. 18. When the Subwoofer is in standby mode, the power is not entirely cut off. Please set the main power ON/OFF switch on the rear of the unit to OFF position to cut off the power when not in use. 19. Unused periods - The power cord of the appliance should be unplugged from the outlet during lightning storms or when the apparatus is left unused for a long period of time. 20. Servicing - Do not attempt to service this product yourself, as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. 21. Replacement parts - When replacement parts are required, ensure that the service technician has used replacement parts specified by the manufacturer or have the same characteristics as the original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock or other hazards. 22. Do not turn up the volume while listening to a section with very low level inputs or no audio signals. If you do, the speaker may be damaged when a peak level section is suddenly played. 23. The only means of completely disconnecting the product from the power supply is by removing the power cord from the wall outlet or the product. The wall outlet or the power cord entry to the product must remain freely accessible at all times while the product is in use. 24. Try to install the product near a wall socket or extension cord and shall be easily accessible. 25. The highest environmental temperature suitable for this product is 35°C. 26. ESD hints - The normal function of the product may be disturbed by strong Electro-Magnetic Interference. If so, simply reset the product to resume normal operation by following the instruction manual. In case the function could not resume, please use the product in other location. 27. Battery 1).The batteries must not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like. 2).The batteries should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal. 3). Battery usage CAUTION: - To prevent battery leakage which may result in body injuries, property damage, or damage to the apparatus. - Install all batteries correctly, + and – as marked on the apparatus. Warning This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. 1. To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long time periods respectively a sudden high volume level. 2. Never use the device unsupervised! Switch off the device whenever you are not using it, even if this only for a short while. 3. The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote control system. 4. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. 5. Before operating this system, check the voltage of this system to see if it is identical to the voltage of your local power supply. 6. The unit should not be impeded by covering the ventilation opening with items such as newspaper, table-cloths, curtains etc. Make sure that there are at least 20 cm of space above and at least 5 cm of space on each side of the unit. 7. The apparatus must not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that objects filled with liquids, such as vases, must not be placed on the apparatus. 8. To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this equipment to hot places, rain, moisture or dust. 9. Do not locate this unit near any water sources e.g. taps, bathtubs, washing machines or swimming pools. Ensure that you place the unit on a dry, stable surface. 10. Do not place this unit close to a strong magnetic field. 11. Do not place the unit on a amplifier or receiver. 12. Do not place this unit in a damp area as the moisture will affect the life of electric components. 13. If the system is brought directly from a cold to a warm location, or is placed in a very damp room, moisture may condense on the lens inside the player. If this occurs, the system will not operate properly. Please leave the system turned on for about an hour until the moisture evaporates. 14. Do not attempt to clean the unit with chemical solvents as this might damage the finish. Wipe with a clean, dry or slightly damp cloth. 15. When removing the power plug from the wall outlet, always pull directly on the plug, never pull on the cord. 16. The mains plug is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect device must remain readily operable. FCC STATEMENT This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference. (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. NOTE : This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: -Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. -Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. -Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. -Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. This equipment complies with the FCC RF radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be installed and operated with a minimum distance of 20 centimeters between the radiator and your body. Short press this button to select different play mode during power on 3. +Button Press to increase the volume level. 4. USB Port 5. LED DISPLAY 6. Remote Control Sensor 7. Optical Socket 8. AC Socket Remote Control 1. : Switch the unit between ON and STANDBY mode. 2. ▲: Press to adjust volume level up. 3. : In Bluetooth mode, skip to previous track. 4. : Press to adjust volume level down. 5. : In Bluetooth mode, skip to next track. 6. : In Bluetooth mode, start or pause playback. -If the speaker is already connected and you would like to connect to a different device, press and hold for 3 seconds to break the current connection and initiate pairing. 7. MODE : Press to Switch the mode 8. BASS/TREB : Press to set Bass and Tremble. Press this button one time to set Bass, then press ▲/ button to adjust the bass level. Press this button again to set Tremble, then press ▲/ button to adjust the tremble level. 9. MUSIC: Press to choose Music surround sound effect. 10. MOVIE :Press again to choose Movie sound effect. PREPARATIONS Prepare the Remote Control The provided remote control allows the unit to be operated from a distance. • Even if the Remote Control is operated within the effective range (up to 6m), remote control operation may be impossible if there are any obstacles between the unit and the remote control. • If the Remote Control is operated near other products which generate infrared rays, or if other remote control devices using infra-red rays are used near the unit, it may operate incorrectly. Conversely, the other products may operate incorrectly. Replace the battery of remote control The Remote Control has a pre-installed lithium CR2032 battery. If the remote control does not work properly, replace the battery. Use batteries of high quality only. Batteries of low quality might leak and cause damage. Note: Remove the battery, if the remote control is not to be used for a longer period of time, as it might be damaged by leaking batteries. Precautions Concerning Batteries 1. When the Remote Control is not to be used for a long time (more than a month), remove the battery from the Remote Control to prevent it from leaking. 2. If the batteries leak, wipe away the leakage inside the battery compartment and replace the batteries with new ones. 3. Do not use any batteries other than those specified. 4. Do not heat or disassemble batteries. Never throw them in fire or water. 5. Do not carry or store batteries with other metallic objects. Doing so could cause batteries to short circuit, leak or explode. CONNECTING AN EXTERNAL DEVICE USING 3.5-RCA AUDIO (ANALOG) CABLE OR COAXIAL/OPTICAL (DIGITAL) CABLE *Not all TVs have the audio outputs shown above. To connect the Sound Bar directly to your other devices (Blu-ray player, game system, etc) see your device’s user manual. **When using either of the Digital Inputs, if the status indicator light is flashing quickly: (A) Ensure that the Optical cable or Coaxial cable is properly connected; (B) Try setting the TV output to PCM; (C) Connect directly to your Blu-ray or other source, some TVs do not pass through digital audio. BASIC OPERATION TURN ON/OFF THE SOUND BAR - Before connecting the AC power cord, ensure you have completed all other connections. - Ensure that the power supply voltage corresponds to the voltage printed on the back or the underside of the unit. 1. Plug the connector of AC cord into the AC socket on the back of the sound bar. 2. Press the /SOURCE button on the main unit or the button on the remote control to switch the sound bar on. The LED indicator will light up and showing the last used mode. 3. To turn off the sound bar and enter standby mode, press and hold the button on the sound bar or press the button on the remote control. /SOURCE SELECT DIFFERENT INPUT MODE Press the /SOURCE button on the main unit or the MODE button on the remote control repeatedly to select different input mode. Notes: -The LED display will go off automatically if the sound bar is sitting idle and no input signals are being received for about 5 minutes, press any button once to light up the display again. -When the sound bar is sitting idle and no input signals are being received for about one hour, the sound bar will automatically switch to Standby mode. Adjust the Volume • Press the +/– button on the main unit or ▲/ button on remote control to adjust the volume level. • While adjusting the volume, the status indicator flashes quickly. • While the volume level reaches its maximum or minimum level, the status indicator will flash once and then stop flashing. PLAYBACK WITH BLUETOOTH DEVICE This device offers you the possibility to use a Bluetooth enabled device. The functional radius is limited to approx.10 metres depending on the surroundings and the unit used. If your playing device supports the A2DP profile (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) and has a music-player function, then you can also wirelessly transfer music to the device. The A2DP profile involves a multi-vendor Bluetooth profile. By streaming, stereo-audio signals are wirelessly transferred between the playing device (source) and the receiving device. Due to the different device manufacturers, models, and software versions, a full functionality cannot be guaranteed. Logging on devices (Pairing) Before using your speaker with a compatible device, such as a mobile phone, for the first time, you must pair and connect it to the device. 1. Ensure, that the Bluetooth function is activated in your player (e.g. mobile phone). For this, refer to the operation manual of your player. 2. While in Power On mode, press the /SOURCE button on the main unit or MODE button on the remote control repeatedly to select the Bluetooth mode. “bT” flashes to show that the pairing mode is activated. Pair the Speaker 1. If you haven’t paired the speaker with a device, or the paired devices list is empty, pairing mode is activated. 2. Activate Bluetooth on the compatible device, and set it to search for compatible devices. 3. Select the speaker name:”MW-1680” from the list of found devices. Note: Only one playback unit can be connected to the speaker. If the speaker is already connected to another playback unit, the speaker will not appear in the Bluetooth selection list. 4. If your device asks for a passkey (depending on the device manufacturers, model, and software version), then enter digits “0000” (four zeros) and press OK. If pairing has been carried out successfully, “connected” will be sounded and the “bT” stops flashing. 5. After connected completely, you can listen to music wirelessly through Bluetooth and select music in Bluetooth device. 6. Press “▲” / “ ” button on remote control or “+”/ “-” button on the main unit to raise/lower the volume level. 7. To disconnect the Bluetooth function, switch to another function on the unit or disable the function from your Bluetooth device. 8. To stop the unit, press and hold the /SOURCE button on main unit or press the button on the remote control to turn off the device. Tips: 1. If a mobile phone on which you are playing music receives a call, the music will be interrupted. The sound however is not played back via the speaker. After you have ended the call, the devices are connected to each other again and playback continues. 2. If there is an existing connection, press and hold the button on the remote control for 3 seconds to break the current connection and initiate pairing mode 3. The player will also be disconnected when your device is moved beyond the operational range. If you want to reconnect your device to this player, place it within the operational range. 4. If the device is moved beyond the operational range, when it is brought back, please check if the device is still connected to the player. 5. If the connection is lost, follow the instructions above to pair your device to the player again. 6. The Bluetooth compatibility cannot be ensured for devices (e.g. mobile phones) getting released in the future. OPTICAL/COAXIAL (DIGITAL INPUTS) OPERATION 1. Ensure that the unit is well connected to the TV or other audio device via Optical or Coaxial cables (not included). 2. While in Power On mode, press the /SOURCE button on the main unit or the MODE button on remote control repeatedly to select the relevant OPTICAL or COAXIAL mode. 3. Operate your audio device directly for playback features. 4. Press “▲” / “ ” button on remote control or“+”/ “-” button on the main unit to raise/lower the volume level. Note: If there is no sound come out from the sound bar and the status indicator light flashes quickly, Make sure the audio (digital output) setting of your source player (e.g. TV, DVD player, game player) is set to PCM. 3.5MM AUX INPUTS OPERATION 1. Ensure that the unit is well connected to the TV or other audio device via the accompanied 3.5mm-RCA cable. 2. While in Power On mode, press the /SOURCE button on the main unit or the MODE button on remote control repeatedly to select the AUX input mode. 3. Operate your audio device directly for playback features. 4. Press “▲” / “ ” button on remote control or “+”/ “-” button on the main unit to raise/lower the volume level. USB Port This Sound bar has also been developed in line with the latest technical advances in the USB filed. The wide range of different USB storage devices of all types which are currently on the market, unfortunately do not allow us to guarantee full compatibility with all USB storage devices. For this reason, in rare cases there may be problems in playing back files from USB storage devices. This is not a malfunction of the device. 1. 2. 3. 4. While in Power On mode, press the /SOURCE button on the main unit or the MODE button repeatedly to select the USB mode. Connect a USB storage device directly into the port, after a few seconds, it will start music playback automatically. Press the “ ” or “ ” button on remote control to skip to the previous or next track Press “▲” / “ ” button on remote control or “+”/ “-” button on the main unit to raise/lower the volume level. Note: Always directly connect a USB storage medium to the USB port to prevent any malfunctions. The USB port is also designed for charging external devices except for Apple devices. CARE AND MAINTENANCE Do not subject the unit to excessive force, shock, dust or extreme temperature. Do not tamper the internal components of the unit. Clean the unit with a damp (never wet) cloth except metal contact or speaker grille. Solvent or detergent should never be used. Avoid leaving your unit in direct sunlight or in hot, humid or dusty places. Keep your unit away from heating appliances and sources of electrical noise such as fluorescent lamps or motors. CLEANING THE UNIT To prevent fire or shock hazard ,disconnect your unit from the AC power source when cleaning. The finish on the unit may be cleaned with a dust cloth and cared for as other furniture, use caution when cleaning and wiping the plastic parts. If the cabinet becomes dusty wipe it with a soft dry dust cloth. Do not use any wax or polish sprays on the cabinet. If the front panel becomes dirty or smudged with fingerprints it may be cleaned with a soft cloth slightly dampened with a mild soap and water solution. Never use abrasive cloths or polishes as these will damage the finish of your unit. CAUTION: Never allow any water or other liquids to get inside the unit while cleaning. WALL MOUNTING Fix the supplied wall-mounting brackets (marked with “S” symbol) to the bracket fixing holes on the back of the Sound bar with the supplied short screws so that the surface of each wall mounting bracket is as shown in the illustration. Fix the two wall-mounting brackets to the left and right fixing holes on the back of the Sound bar. 1. Make drill hole marks on the wall for the anchors. Make sure the marks are level before drilling. 2. Use a 6mm bit and power drill (not supplied) to drill holes on the marks. 3. Insert the included plastic anchors into the holes and push in until they are flush with the wall. 4. Secure the supplied Metallic Brackets (marked with “W” symbol) to the wall by screwing the included flat head screws into the anchors and tighten until the screw head is fully inserted and flush with the metallic bracket. Note: The distance between the brackets should be 350 mm. Place the Sound bar with wall-mounting brackets (marked with “S” symbol) onto the mounting brackets (marked with “W” symbol) which fixed on the wall, then use the included two short screws to tight them. Make sure the Sound bar is attached firmly to the wall. Troubleshooting Guide Should you experience difficulties in the use of this player, please refer to the following chart.
