From the ChairmanCongratulations on your purchase of the limitededition reissue of the offset JTM45 halfstack. Theoriginal versions of this amp and cabinet were builtback in 1962, the very year in which MarshallAmplification was born. In fact, the offset head was thefirst version of the JTM45 my company made and onlya mere handful of these heads and cabinets were everconstructed. In case you are wondering, the reason theamp's chassis was offset like this was to help ensurethat the head balanced properly when carried. Despitethe practicality of this design however, we quicklydiscovered that most people preferred the symmetricallook of a centrally placed chassis, so that’s how we’vebeen building heads ever since!A few years ago one of these extremely rare offsethalfstacks came back into my possession and Iimmediately placed it in the Marshall Museum at ourheadquarters in Milton Keynes, England. Since then, allwho have seen and heard it have commented mostfavourably - not only on its unique looks but also on itsrich, fierce, majestic tone.To celebrate the dawn of a new century I wanted tooffer something truly special - hence this reissue. Tomake this unique product as authentic as possible, wehave sought out and reproduced all of the originalcomponents and methods of construction we used backin 1962. From the hand-wired tag-board circuit housedin an aluminium chassis, through to the original silverCelestion Alnico loudspeakers. We have evenresurrected the original ‘coffin’ logo! I sincerely hope that this eye-catching reissue of oneof the first Marshall amplifiers ever made, will provideyou with countless hours of playing pleasure. I'm sureit will. I'm also sure it will prove to be a quite aconversation piece too!
