III.BATTERY INSTALLATIONRequires 6 AA Alkaline Batteries (2AA for transmitterand 4 AA for vehicle). Batteries included are for demon-stration purposes only.Vehicle1. Use a screwdriver (not included) to unscrew thepower clip cover screw, open the battery cover asshown.2. Remove 3 "AA" batteries (included for Try-Me Lights andcool music sounds ONLY) and replace with 4 new  "AA"alkaline batteries (not included) with polarity (+/-) asshown inside the battery compartment.3. Replace the battery door.Transmitter1. Remove the battery cover as shown.2. Install 2 AA alkaline batteries (not included) with polarity(+/-) as shown inside the battery compartment.3. Replace the battery door.*Your transmitter is equipped with a special automaticON battery-saving feature. Just turn your vehicleON. They’re for realcars!• DO NOT pick up vehicle while in motion.• Keep fingers, hair and loose clothing away from thetires and the wheel hubs while the vehicle is switchedON.XCAUTION: To  prevent entanglement, keep hair awayfrom wheels.• Adult supervision is recommended when this vehicleis being operated.• To avoid accidental operation, remove all batterieswhen not in use. Always turn the vehicle OFF beforeremoving batteries.BATTERY SAFETY INFORMATIONIn exceptional circumstances batteries may leak fluidsthat can cause a chemical burn injury or ruin your product.To   avoid battery leakage:• Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.• Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the productbefore being charged (if designed to be removable).• Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged underadult supervision (if designed to be removable).• Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.• Do not mix old and new batteries.• Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.• Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity.• Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the product.• The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.• Dispose of battery (ies) safely.• Do not dispose of this product in a fire. The batteries inside may explode or leak.Battery Performance Note:For best performance use regular or high-performance alkaline batteries (where disposable batteries are calledfor). If your vehicle is supplied with standard (carbon-zinc)batteries for initial use and/or demonstration purposes, werecommend replacing them with alkaline batteries whennecessary. Battery life may vary depending on batterybrand.II.VEHICLE OPERATIONFORWARD REVERSE RIGHTLEFT
1. When your vehicle starts to lose power, it may losefunctions or performance. It's time for fresh batteries(or a recharge). Your vehicle's running time maychange depending on your driving style.2. Radio interference can make your vehicle run badly.Interference can be caused by other R/C vehiclesrunning on the same frequency; electrical wires;large buildings; or CB radios. Try to stay away fromthese!3. Point your transmitter antenna up - not down towardyour  vehicle. If your vehicle gets too far away, itwon't work properly. If your transmitter has an antenna carry-loop feature, make sure the antenna isremoved from the holder and straightened beforeoperating.4. Don’t drive your vehicle in sand or through water orsnow.5. Don’t store your vehicle near heat or in direct sunlight. Always turn switches OFF and remove all batteries for storage.V.QUICK TIPSSYMPTOMVehicle runs slowly or will not run.Power indicator light on transmitter does not light.Erratic operation or only short range possible.Vehicle doesn’t work after going through water or snow.• PROBABLE CAUSE• Loose battery connection or vehicle switch not ON.• Weak or uncharged rechargeable NiCd battery. • Weak AA batteries (Power Clip) or transmitter battery.• Transmitter battery weak or not connected.• Radio interference likely.• Water in the electronics area.• CORRECTION• Check battery connector and vehicle switch.• Charge battery or replace.• Replace with fresh alkaline battery.• Check connections and replace battery if required.• Change location - see Point 2, “Quick Tips.”• Vehicle will take several hours to dry. Allow to dry thoroughly overnight before trying again.• Avoid driving in water or snow.TROUBLESHOOTING  -  PROBLEM? - SOLUTIONS90-DAY LIMITED WARRANTY – TYCO® R/C PRODUCTSMattel, Inc. warrants to the original consumer purchaser that this product will be free of defects in material andworkmanship for ninety (90) days (unless specified in alternate warranties) from the date of purchase. Mattel willreplace the product in the event of such a defect within the warranty period.In the event of a defect covered under this warranty, first call the toll-free number listed below. Many problemscan be solved in this manner. If necessary, you will be instructed to return the product, postage prepaid andinsured, to the address below. Enclose your name, address, dated sales receipt, and a brief explanation of thedefect. Replacement and return shipment will be free of charge.This warranty does not cover damage resulting from unauthorized modification, accident, misuse or abuse. If theproduct is returned without a dated sales receipt the product may be excluded from coverage under this warranty.Mattel’s liability for defects in material and workmanship under this warranty shall be limited to replacement, andin no event shall we be responsible for incidental, consequential, or contingent damages (except in those statesthat do not allow this exclusion or limitation).
