Getting Started
Microsoft® Wireless BlueTrack™ Mouse

Setting Up the Mouse
1 Insert the battery or batteries
The mouse requires one or two AA batteries (included in the package).
Note Always use new batteries whenever you need to replace them.
1 Remove the battery compartment cover on the underside of the mouse.
2 Insert the new battery or batteries. Be sure to properly orient the positive (+) and negative
(-) ends as shown in the battery compartment. Replace the battery compartment cover.
2 Turn on the mouse (some models only)
● IfyourmousehasanOn/Offswitchontheunderside,ensurethatitisturnedon.
Tip When not in use, turn off the mouse to conserve battery life.
3 Plug in the transceiver
● Withyourcomputerturnedon,plugthetransceiverintoaUSBportonyourcomputer.
Setupiscomplete.
Storing the Transceiver
When on the move, you can store the transceiver on the underside of the mouse.
Ifthetransceivertsintothebatterycompartmentcover,snapitintothecovertoturnoffthe
mouse and conserve battery life.

If you have a vertical slot for the Nano Transceiver, insert the transceiver into the slot. To
remove the transceiver, press the button (as shown below).
Tips for Using the Mouse
● Whenthebatteryindicatorblinksredslowly,replacethebatteryorbatteries.
● Thebatteryindicatorglowsgreenforafewsecondswhenyouinsertanewbatteryor
batteries, or turn on the mouse.
● UsethisBlueTrackmousealmostanywhere,includingkitchencounters,thelivingroomoor,
or a park bench.
Using the IntelliPoint software
The IntelliPoint software was installed on your computer by the computer manufacturer.
To start IntelliPoint
● ClickStart, click All Programs, click Microsoft Mouse, and then click Microsoft Mouse.
To open IntelliPoint Help
● ClickStart, click All Programs, click Microsoft Mouse, and then click Mouse Help. If you
already have IntelliPoint open, just click the Help button.
Software Features
MagnierandFlip3D(orInstantViewerinWindows®XP)areamongthemanyfeatures
providedbytheIntelliPointsoftware.Magnierworkslikeamagnifyingglasstoenlargetext
andimagesonyourscreen,whileFlip3DorInstantViewerallowsyoutoseeallopenitemson
the desktop.
Note If Aero®isturnedoffinWindowsVista®,youwillseeInstantViewerinsteadofFlip3D.
To turn the Magnifier on and off
● ClickthemousebuttonassignedtoMagniertoturniton.Clickthemousebuttonagain
when you are ready to turn it off.
To use Flip 3D or Instant Viewer
● Clickthemousebuttonassignedto Flip3DorInstantViewertoviewthegridofallopen
windows, and then click the window you want to make active.

● Donotjerk,knot,sharplybend,orotherwiseabusethepowercords.

Headset Devices
Extendedexposuretohighvolumeswhenusingaheadsetmayresultintemporaryorpermanenthearingloss.
To prevent damage to your headset, avoid sitting or stepping on the headset, its cable, or the cable connector.
Webcam Devices
Webcam with magnetic and adhesive mounting
After the adhesive attachment disc has been applied to the mounting surface, removing it may damage the cosmetic coating
and/orleaveanadhesiveresidue.
ApplyingtheattachmentdiscnexttoordirectlytoaCRT-baseddisplayscreenmaycausepermanentvisualdistortionofthe
displayed image near the area mounted.
Wireless Devices
Before boarding any aircraft or packing a wireless device in luggage that will be checked, remove the batteries from the
wirelessdeviceorturnthewirelessdeviceoff(ifithasanon/offswitch).Wirelessdevicescantransmitradiofrequency(RF)
energy,muchlikeacellulartelephone,wheneverbatteriesareinstalledandthewirelessdeviceisturnedon(ifithasanon/off
switch).

tendonitis, tenosynovitis, and other conditions.

with(“Run”)one(1)copyoftheSOFTWAREonasingleCOMPUTERtowhichtheHARDWAREisattached.TheSOFTWAREmaynotbeinstalled,
accessed, displayed, shared or used concurrently on or from different computers, including a workstation, terminal or other digital electronic
device.
Back-UpCopy.YoumaykeeptheoriginalmediaonwhichtheSOFTWAREwasprovidedsolelyforbackuporarchivalpurposes.Iftheoriginal
mediaisrequiredtousetheSOFTWAREontheCOMPUTER,youmaymakeasingleback-upcopyoftheSOFTWAREsolelyforarchivalpurposes
onlyiftheManufacturerhasnotincludedaback-upcopy.ItisillegaltomakeunauthorizedcopiesoftheSOFTWAREortocircumventany
copyprotectiontechnologyemployedintheSOFTWARE.ExceptasexpresslyprovidedinthisEULA,youmaynototherwisemakecopiesofthe
SOFTWAREortheprintedmaterialsaccompanyingtheSOFTWARE.
2.OTHERLIMITATIONS.
LanguageandProcessorVersionSelection.Youarelicensedtouseonlyoneofthelanguageversionsandoneoftheprocessorversions
provided,iftheSOFTWAREisincludedinmorethanonelanguageversionand/orprocessorversion.
DualMediumSoftware.YoumayreceivetheSOFTWAREinmorethanonemedium.Regardlessofthetypeorsizeofmediumyoureceive,you
mayuseonlyonemediumthatisappropriateforyourCOMPUTER.YoumaynotRuntheothermediumonanothercomputer.Youmaynot
loan,rent,lease,lendorotherwisetransfertheothermediumtoanotheruser,exceptaspartofanauthorizedpermanenttransferoftheentire
SOFTWAREandHARDWAREasdescribedundertheSection,“SoftwareTransfer.”
SoftwareTransfer.YoumaypermanentlytransferallofyourrightsunderthisEULAonlyaspartofatransferoftheCOMPUTERwiththe
HARDWARE,providedyouretainnocopiesandtransferalloftheSOFTWARE(includingallcomponentparts,themediaandprintedmaterials,
anyupgrades,andthisEULA),alongwiththeaccompanyingHARDWAREandtherecipientagreestothetermsofthisEULA.IftheSOFTWARE
portionisanupgrade,anytransfermustincludeallpriorversionsoftheSOFTWARE.
Rental.Youmaynotrent,lease,orlendtheSOFTWARE.
Upgrades.YoumayuseanupgradeversionoftheSOFTWAREinaccordancewiththetermsofthisEULA,unlessaseparateEULAisprovided
toyouwithsuchupgradeversion,inwhichcasesuchseparateEULAgovernsyouruseoftheupgradeversion,providedyouarelicensedto
useaproductidentiedbyManufacturer,Microsoftoritssuppliersasbeingeligibleforupgrade(“EligibleProduct”).SOFTWARElabeled
asanupgradereplacesand/orsupplements(andmaydisable,ifupgradingaMicrosoftproduct)theEligibleProductwhichcamewiththe
COMPUTER.Afteryouupgrade,youmaynolongerusethesoftwareyouupgradedfrom.
LimitationsonReverseEngineering,DecompilationandDisassembly.Youmaynotreverseengineer,decompile,ordisassembletheSOFTWARE,
exceptandonlytotheextentthatsuchactivityisexpresslypermittedbyapplicablelawnotwithstandingthislimitation.
SeparationofComponents.TheSOFTWAREislicensedasasingleproduct.Itscomponentpartsmaynotbeseparatedforuseonmorethanone
computer.

SingleComputer.TheSOFTWAREislicensedwiththeHARDWAREasasingleintegratedproduct.TheSOFTWAREmayonlybeusedwiththe
HARDWAREassetforthinthisEULA.
SingleEULA.ThisSOFTWAREmaycontainmultipleversionsofthisEULA,suchasmultipletranslationsand/ormultiplemediaversions(e.g.,in
theuserdocumentationandinthesoftware).Inthiscase,youareonlylicensedtouseone(1)copyoftheSOFTWARE.
NotForResaleSoftware.IftheSOFTWAREislabeled“NotforResale”or“NFR”,then,notwithstandingothersectionsofthisEULA,youmaynot
resell,orotherwisetransferforvalue,theSOFTWARE.
Trademarks.ThisEULAdoesnotgrantyouanyrightsinconnectionwithanytrademarksorservicemarksofMicrosoftoritssuppliers.
ProductSupport.ProductsupportisprovidedbyManufacturerandnotbyMicrosoftoritssuppliersortheirafliatesorsubsidiaries.Please
refer to Manufacturer’s support number provided in your user documentation.
3.COPYRIGHT.AlltitleandintellectualpropertyrightsinandtotheSOFTWARE(includingbutnotlimitedtoanyimages,photographs,
animations,video,audio,music,textand“applets,”incorporatedintotheSOFTWARE),theaccompanyingprintedmaterials,andanycopiesof
theSOFTWARE,areownedbyMicrosoftoritssuppliers.Alltitleandintellectualpropertyrightsinandtothecontentwhichisnotcontained
intheSOFTWAREbutmaybeaccessedthroughuseoftheSOFTWAREistheproductoftherespectivecontentownerandmaybeprotected
byapplicablecopyrightorotherintellectualpropertylawsandtreaties.ThisEULAgrantsyounorightstousesuchcontent.Useofanyon-
lineserviceswhichmaybeaccessedthroughtheSOFTWAREmaybegovernedbytherespectivetermsofuserelatingtosuchservices.Ifthis
SOFTWAREcontainsdocumentationwhichisprovidedonlyinelectronicform,youmayprintonecopyofsuchelectronicdocumentation.You
maynotcopytheprintedmaterialsaccompanyingtheHARDWAREandSOFTWARE.Microsoftanditssuppliersreserveallrightsnotspecically

youfailtocomplywithitsterms.Insuchevent,youmustdestroyallofcopiesoftheSOFTWAREandallofitscomponentpartsandHARDWARE.

BEEXCLUDEDORLIMITEDBYAPPLICABLELAWS.THEFOREGOINGLIMITATIONS,EXCLUSIONSANDDISCLAIMERSSHALLAPPLYTOTHE
MAXIMUMEXTENTPERMITTEDBYAPPLICABLELAW,EVENIFANYREMEDYFAILSITSESSENTIALPURPOSE.
2.GOVERNINGLAW.IfyouacquiredtheHARDWAREintheUnitedStatesofAmerica,thelawsoftheStateofWashington,U.S.A.,applyto
thisagreement.IfyouacquiredtheHARDWAREintheEuropeanUnion,Iceland,NorwayorSwitzerlandthenlocallawapplies.Ifyouacquired
theHARDWAREinCanada,exceptwhereexpresslyprohibitedbylocallaw,thelawsinforceintheProvinceofOntario,Canadaapplytothis
agreementandeachofthepartiesheretoirrevocablyattornstothejurisdictionofthecourtsoftheProvinceofOntarioandfurtheragreesto
commenceanylitigationwhichmayarisehereunderinthecourtslocatedintheJudicialDistrictofYork,ProvinceofOntario.Ifyouacquiredthe
HARDWAREoutsideofthecountrieslistedabove,thenlocallawmayapply.
MANUFACTURER’SGUARANTEEANDLIMITATIONOFLIABILITY
NOTE:Thefollowingguaranteeisnotrestrictedtoanyterritoryanddoesnotaffectanystatutoryrightsthatyoumayhave.
MANUFACTURER’SGUARANTEE.Manufacturerguaranteesthat:
(a)theSOFTWAREwillperformsubstantiallyinaccordancewiththeaccompanyingpackaginganddocumentationforaperiodofninety(90)
daysstartingfromthedateyoureceivetheSOFTWARE,and
(b)theHARDWAREaccompanyingtheSOFTWAREwillbesubstantiallyfreefromdefectsinmaterialsandworkmanshipforaperiodofthree(3)
yearsstartingfromthedateyoureceivetheHARDWARE.
IntheeventthateithertheSOFTWAREortheHARDWAREfailstocomplywiththisguarantee,Manufacturerwill,atManufacturer’soption,either
(a)repairorreplacetheSOFTWAREortheHARDWAREor
(b)returnthepriceyoupaidfortheSOFTWAREandtheHARDWARE(ifany),providedthatyoureturntheSOFTWAREandtheHARDWAREto
Manufacturer with a copy of your receipt of purchase.
Youmayexercisethisremedywithoutcharge,exceptthatyouareresponsibleforanyexpensesyoumayincur.ThisManufacturer’sGuarantee
isvoidiffailureoftheSOFTWAREortheHARDWAREhasresultedfromanyaccident,abuse,ormisapplication.AnyreplacementSOFTWAREor
HARDWAREshallbewarrantedfortheremainderoftheoriginalwarrantyperiodorthirty(30)days,whicheverislonger.Manufacturershallnot
beresponsibleforanylossordamagethatyoucouldhavereasonablyavoided,forexample,bybackingupyoursoftwareandlesregularly.
