If the size of the end product is larger than 8x10cm, then the following FCC part 15.19 statement has to also be available on the label: This device complies with Part 15 of FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
Page 4 of 7 9/13/2016 IC Statement: This device complies with Industry Canada license-exempt RSS standard(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device. For product available in the USA/Canada market, only channel 1~11 can be operated. Selection of other channels is not possible. Pour les produits disponibles aux États-Unis / Canada du marché, seul le canal 1 à 11 peuvent être exploités. Sélection d'autres canaux n'est pas possible. This device and its antenna(s) must not be co-located with any other transmitters except in accordance with IC multi-transmitter product procedures. Refering to the multi-transmitter policy, multiple-transmitter(s) and module(s) can be operated simultaneously without reassessment permissive change. The maximum antenna gain permitted for devices in the band 5725-5850 MHz shall be such that the equipment still complies with the e.i.r.p. limits specified for point-to-point and non-point-to- point operation as appropriate. le gain maximal d’antenne permis (pour les dispositifs utilisant la bande 5725-5850 MHz) doit se conformer à la limite de p.i.r.e. spécifiée pour l’exploitation point à point et non point à point, selon le cas. For indoor use only. Pour une utilisation en intérieur uniquement.

Page 6 of 7 9/13/2016 End-Product Integration The engineering reference design instructions are for compliance with FCC modular approval requirements of Part 15.212 and KDB publication number 996369. The model 1804 radio module is intended for integration into end-product platforms. The module includes 3 50-ohm RF ports for connection to antennas on the end-product. The integrator must utilize 50-ohm RF traces to connect the module’s 50-ohm RF ports to the antennas. This is shown in the figure below. The integrator must calculate the RF trace width depending on the PCB stack-up design utilized for the end-product PCB. Use of microstrip trace type is recommended. With microstrip RF trace on outer PCB layer, ground-plane reference on inner layer 1, and dielectric thickness of 0.1mm, the 50-ohm trace width will be 0.18mm. The RF traces must have 10dB minimum return loss as measured at the connection points for the radio module’s RF ports. The RF traces must also have minimum insertion loss of 0.5dB for RF Trace 1, 1.0dB for RF Trace 2, and 1.5dB for RF Trace 3. In addition, the integrator must include keep-out areas on the end-product PCB where the radio module is mounted to avoid disturbing the 50-ohm RF traces on the module itself. These keep-out areas must restrict copper fills, and must extend from the centerline of the radio module RF pad and extend to the edge of the radio module case. This is shown conceptually in the figure below. Other RF trace layout designs must be approved through permissive change before being used by the OEM.
