Unplug the charger from the electrical plug and the device when not in use. Do notleave a fully charged battery connected to a charger, since overcharging mayshorten its lifetime. If left unused, a fully charged battery will lose its charge overtime. If the battery is completely discharged, it may take several minutes before thecharging indicator appears on the display or before any calls can be made.Use the battery only for its intended purpose. Never use any charger or battery thatis damaged.Do not short-circuit the battery. Accidental short-circuiting can occur when ametallic object such as a coin, clip, or pen causes direct connection of the positive(+) and negative (-) terminals of the battery. (These look like metal strips on thebattery.) This might happen, for example, when you carry a spare battery in yourpocket or purse. Short-circuiting the terminals may damage the battery or theconnecting object.Leaving the battery in hot or cold places, such as in a closed car in summer or winterconditions, will reduce the capacity and lifetime of the battery. Always try to keepthe battery between 15°C and 25°C (59°F and 77°F). A device with a hot or coldbattery may not work temporarily, even when the battery is fully charged. Batteryperformance is particularly limited in temperatures well below freezing.Do not dispose of batteries in a fire as they may explode. Batteries may also explodeif damaged. Dispose of batteries according to local regulations. Please recycle whenpossible. Do not dispose as household waste.Do not dismantle or shred cells or batteries. The exposure guidelines for mobile devices employ a unit of measurement knownas the Specific Absorption Rate or SAR. The SAR limit stated in the ICNIRP guidelinesis 2.0 watts/kilogram (W/kg) averaged over 10 grams of tissue. Tests for SAR areconducted using standard operating positions with the device transmitting at itshighest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. The actual SAR level ofan operating device can be below the maximum value because the device isdesigned to use only the power required to reach the network. That amountchanges depending on a number of factors such as how close you are to a networkbase station. The highest SAR value under the ICNIRP guidelines for use of the deviceat the ear is 0.57 W/kg.Use of device accessories and enhancements may result in different SAR values. SARvalues may vary depending on national reporting and testing requirements andthe network band. Additional SAR information may be provided under productinformation at www.nokia.com.Your mobile device is also designed to meet the requirements for exposure to radiowaves established by the Federal Communications Commission (USA) and IndustryCanada. These requirements set a SAR limit of 1.6 W/kg averaged over one gramof tissue. The highest SAR value reported under this standard during productcertification for use at the ear is 0.48 W/kg and when properly worn on the bodyis 0.16 W/kg. Information about this device model can be found at www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid by searching the equipment authorization system using FCC ID:PPIRM-217.Additional safety information98CyanCyanMagentaMagentaYellowYellowBlackBlackfile:/D:/temp/overmode/GUID-E1544AC5-7061-4AE9-A1A4-A210498F82B9.en.200611241647272031164380388562/en/1/GUID-7C1BD2F4-DE90-4CA6-8F0C-D6CE2FEB7F7D.xmlPage 98 Nov 24, 2006 5:00:27 PM
