1. General informationAccess codesSecurity codeThe security code (5 to 10 digits) helps to protect your phone againstunauthorized use. The preset code is 12345. You can change the code, and setthe phone to request the code. See "Security," p. 61.PIN codesThe personal identification number (PIN) code and the universal personalidentification number (UPIN) code (4 to 8 digits) help to protect your SIM cardagainst unauthorized use. 2. Open the SIM card holder (4).Insert the SIM card (5) with thecontact surface facing down intothe holder. Close the SIM cardholder (6).3. Observe the battery contacts (7),and insert the battery (8). Placethe upper part of the back coveron the device (9), and close it(10).Insert a microSD cardUse only compatible microSD cards approved by Nokia for use with this device.Nokia uses approved industry standards for memory cards, but some brandsmay not be fully compatible with this device. Incompatible cards may damagethe card and the device and corrupt data stored on the card.1. Switch the device off, and remove the back cover and the battery of thedevice.2. Slide the memory card holder to unlock (1).3. 4. Close the card holder (4), and slide the card holder tolock it (5).5. Insert the battery, and attach the back cover to the device.Charge the batteryCheck the model number of any charger before use with this device. This deviceis intended for use when supplied with power from the AC-3 or AC-4 charger.Warning: Use only batteries, chargers, and enhancements approvedby Nokia for use with this particular model. The use of any other typesmay invalidate any approval or warranty, and may be dangerous.For availability of approved enhancements, please check with your dealer.When you disconnect the power cord of any enhancement, grasp and pull theplug, not the cord.1. Connect the charger to a wall socket.2. Connect the lead from the charger to the socket on thebottom of your device.If the battery is completely discharged, it may take a fewminutes before the charging indicator appears on thedisplay or before any calls can be made.The charging time depends on the charger used. AntennaYour device has an internal antenna.Note: As with any other radio transmittingdevice, do not touch the antennaunnecessarily when the device is switchedon. Enhanced voice dialingYou can make a phone call by saying the name that is saved in the contact listof the device.Voice commands are language-dependent. Set the Voice recognitionlanguage before using voice dialing. Unplug the charger from the electrical plug and the device when not in use. Donot leave a fully charged battery connected to a charger, since overchargingmay shorten its lifetime. If left unused, a fully charged battery will lose its chargeover time.If the battery is completely discharged, it may take several minutes before thecharging indicator appears on the display or before any calls can be made.Use the battery only for its intended purpose.
