TravellingNeed directions? Looking for a restaurant? Your Eseriesdevice has the tools to get you where you want to be.About GPS andsatellite signalsThe Global Positioning System (GPS) is a worldwideradio navigation system that includes 24 satellites andtheir ground stations that monitor the operation of thesatellites. Your device has an internal GPS receiver.A GPS terminal receives low-power radio signals fromthe satellites and measures the travel time of thesignals. From the travel time, the GPS receiver cancalculate its location to the accuracy of metres. The coordinates in the GPS are expressed in degreesand decimal degrees format using the internationalWGS-84 coordinate system. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is operated by thegovernment of the United States, which is solelyresponsible for its accuracy and maintenance. Theaccuracy of location data can be affected byadjustments to GPS satellites made by the United Statesgovernment and is subject to change with the UnitedStates Department of Defense civil GPS policy and theFederal Radionavigation Plan. Accuracy can also beaffected by poor satellite geometry. Availability andquality of GPS signals may be affected by your location, buildings, natural obstacles, and weather conditions. The GPS receiver should only be used outdoors to allowreception of GPS signals.Any GPS should not be used for precise locationmeasurement, and you should never rely solely onlocation data from the GPS receiver and cellular radionetworks for positioning or navigation. The trip meter has limited accuracy, and roundingerrors may occur. These guidelines were developed by theindependent scientific organisation ICNIRP and includesafety margins designed to assure the protection of allpersons, regardless of age and health. The exposure guidelines for mobile devices employ aunit of measurement known as the Specific AbsorptionRate or SAR. The SAR limit stated in the ICNIRPguidelines is 2.0 watts/kilogram (W/kg) averaged over10 grams of tissue. Tests for SAR are conducted using101CyanCyanMagentaMagentaYellowYellowBlackBlackCyanCyanMagentaMagentaYellowYellowBlackBlack
standard operating positions with the devicetransmitting at its highest certified power level in alltested frequency bands. The actual SAR level of anoperating device can be below the maximum valuebecause the device is designed to use only the powerrequired to reach the network. That amount changesdepending on a number of factors such as how closeyou are to a network base station. The highest SARvalue under the ICNIRP guidelines for use of the deviceat the ear is 1.37 W/kg.Use of device accessories and enhancements mayresult in different SAR values. SAR values may varydepending on national reporting and testingrequirements and the network band. Additional SARinformation may be provided under productinformation at www.nokia.com. 102CyanCyanMagentaMagentaYellowYellowBlackBlackCyanCyanMagentaMagentaYellowYellowBlackBlackYour mobile device is also designed to meet therequirements for exposure to radio waves establishedby the Federal Communications Commission (USA) andIndustry Canada. These requirements set a SAR limit of1.6 W/kg averaged over one gram of tissue. The highestSAR value reported under this standard during productcertification for use at the ear is 1.33 W/kg and whenproperly worn on the body is 0.45 W/kg.
