Access codesTo set how your phone uses the access codes and security settings, selectMenu > Settings > Security > Access codes.●The PIN (UPIN) code, supplied with the SIM (USIM) card, helps to protect thecard against unauthorised use.●The PIN2 (UPIN2) code, supplied with some SIM (USIM) cards, is required toaccess certain services.●PUK (UPUK) and PUK2 (UPUK2) codes may be supplied with the SIM (USIM) card.If you enter the PIN code incorrectly three times in succession, you are askedfor the PUK code. If the codes are not supplied, contact your service provider.●The security code helps to protect your phone against unauthorised use. Youcan create and change the code, and set the phone to request the code. Keepthe code secret and in a safe place separate from your phone. If you forget thecode and your phone is locked, your phone will require service and additionalcharges may apply. Thisdevice uses various types of DRM software to access DRM-protected content. Withthis device you can access content protected with WMDRM 10, OMA DRM 1.0, OMADRM 1.0 forward lock, and OMA DRM 2.0. If certain DRM software fails to protectthe content, content owners may ask that such DRM software's ability to accessnew DRM-protected content be revoked. Revocation may also prevent renewal ofsuch DRM-protected content already in your device. Revocation of such DRMsoftware does not affect the use of content protected with other types of DRM orthe use of non-DRM-protected content.Digital rights management (DRM) protected content comes with an associatedactivation key that defines your rights to use the content.If your device has OMA DRM-protected content, to back up both the activationkeys and the content, use the backup feature of Nokia PC Suite. Other transfermethods may not transfer the activation keys which need to be restored with thecontent for you to be able to continue the use of OMA DRM-protected contentafter the device memory is formatted. You may also need to restore the activationkeys in case the files on your device get corrupted.If your device has WMDRM-protected content, both the activation keys and thecontent will be lost if the device memory is formatted. Close the SIM card holder (5).3. Observe the battery contacts (6), and insert thebattery (7). Replace the back cover (8).Insert a microSD cardUse only compatible microSD cards approved by Nokia for use with this device.Nokia uses approved industry standards for memory cards, but some brands maynot be fully compatible with this device. 1. Remove the back cover.2. Insert the card into the memory card slot with thecontact surface facing down, and press until itlocks into place.3. Replace the back cover.Remove the memory cardImportant: Do not remove the memory card in the middle of an operationwhen the card is being accessed. Removing the card in the middle of an operationmay damage the memory card as well as the device, and data stored on the cardmay be corrupted.You can remove or replace the memory card during phone operation withoutswitching the device off.1. Ensure that no application is currently accessing the memory card.2. Remove the back cover.3. Press the memory card slightly in to release the lock, and remove it.4. Replace coversPlace the cover on thedevice, and slide it until itlocks.Charge the batteryYour battery has been precharged, but the charging levels may vary.1. Connect the charger to a wall outlet.2. Connect the charger to the device.3. When the battery is fully charged, disconnectthe charger from the device, then from thewall outlet.You also may charge the battery with a USB cablewith power from a computer.1. Connect the USB cable to the USB port of acomputer and to your device.2. When the battery is full charged, disconnect the USB cable.If the battery is completely discharged, it may take a few minutes before thecharging indicator appears on the display or before any calls can be made.The charging time depends on the charger used. Charging a BP-6MT battery withthe AC-6 charger takes approximately XXX while the phone is in the standbymode.Note: The phone shall only be connected to products that bear the USB-IF logoor have completed the USB-IF compliance program.AntennaYour device may have internal and external antennas.As with any radio transmitting device, avoid touchingthe antenna area unnecessarily while the antenna istransmitting or receiving. See "Left andright selection keys", p. 31.Power savingYour phone has a Power saver and a Sleep mode feature in order to save batterypower in the standby mode when no keys are pressed. These features may beactivated. See "Display", p. 30.Shortcuts in the standby modeTo access a list of numbers you have dialled, press the call key once. To call anumber from the list, scroll to the number or name, and press the call key.To open the web browser, press and hold 0.To call your voice mailbox, press and hold 1.You can use keys as shortcuts. See "Dialling shortcuts", p. 19.Indicators   You have unread messages.   You have unsent, cancelled, or failed messages.   You have missed calls.   The keypad is locked.   The phone does not ring for incoming calls or text messages. If thedevice has been locked, enter the lock code.To activate the Offline profile, press the power key, and select OfflineOffline.When the Offline profile is active, the connection to the cellular network is turnedoff. You can listen to music using the music player when the Offline profile isactive. Remember to switch off your device when wireless phone use isprohibited.To leave the Offline profile, press the power key, and select another profile.Keypad lockTo lock the keypad to prevent accidental keypresses, select Menu, and press *within 3.5 seconds.To unlock the keypad, select Unlock, and press * within 1.5 seconds. If requested,enter the lock code.To answer a call when the keypad is locked, press the call key. When you end orreject the call, the keypad locks automatically.Further features are Automatic keyguard and Security keyguard. Video ShareVideo Share allows you to share live video with another person using a VideoShare capable phone. Both accounts must subscribe to the Video Share serviceand be in a 3G service area during the video share call.During a voice call, Video Share Ready appears. To begin sharing, select VideoShare. After the receiving caller accepts your invitation, the speakerphoneactivates and streams your camera's video. To stop sharing, select Stop.The speakerphone turns off and the connection continues as a voice call. You canchoose to save the video clip.During extended operation X, the device may feel warm. In most cases, thiscondition is normal. If you suspect the device is not working properly, take it tothe nearest authorised service facility.Answer and end a callTo answer an incoming call, press the call key, or open the fold. To end the call,press the end key, or close the fold.To reject an incoming call, press the end key.
