About GPS and satellite signals 66 Note: This function is not available in all countries or regions. Consult with your local network operator for availability of this function. To use Global Positioning System (GPS), you need a compatible GPS receiver. Use Bluetooth connectivity to connect to the GPS receiver. To start using a compatible GPS receiver with Bluetooth connectivity, select Menu ConnectivityBluetooth. A GPS terminal receives low-power radio signals from the satellites and measures the travel time of the signals. From the travel time, the GPS receiver can calculate its location to the accuracy of metres. The coordinates in the GPS are expressed in degrees and decimal degrees format using the international WGS-84 coordinate system. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is operated by the government of the United States, which is solely responsible for its accuracy and maintenance. The accuracy of location data can be affected by adjustments to GPS satellites made by the United States government and is subject to change with the United States Department of Defense civil GPS policy and the Federal Radionavigation Plan. Accuracy can also be affected by poor satellite geometry. Availability and quality of GPS signals may be affected by your location, buildings, natural obstacles, and weather conditions. The GPS receiver should only be used outdoors to allow reception of GPS signals. Any GPS should not be used for precise location measurement, and you should never rely solely on location data from the GPS receiver and cellular radio networks for positioning or navigation. The trip meter has limited accuracy, and rounding errors may occur. Accuracy can also be affected by availability and quality of GPS signals. To enable or disable different positioning methods, such as Bluetooth GPS, select MenuToolsSettings GeneralPositioningPositioning methods. When your device has received enough data from the satellite signal to calculate the coordinates of your location, the bar turns black. Initially your device must receive signals from at least four satellites to be able to calculate the coordinates of your location. When the initial calculation has been made, it may be possible to continue calculating the coordinates of your location with three satellites. However, the accuracy is generally better when more satellites are found. Positioning settings Select MenuToolsSettingsGeneral Positioning. Cyan Magenta Yellow Black 95 Connectivity About Bluetooth Bluetooth technology enables wireless connections between electronic devices within a range of 10 metres (33 feet). A Bluetooth connection can be used to send images, videos, text, business cards, calendar notes, or to connect wirelessly to devices that use Bluetooth technology. Since devices using Bluetooth technology communicate using radio waves, your device and the other devices do not need to be in direct line-of-sight. The two devices only need to be within a maximum of 10 metres of each other, although the connection can be subject to interference from obstructions such as walls or other electronic devices. Several Bluetooth connections can be active at a time. For example, if your device is connected to a headset, you can also transfer files to another compatible device at the same time. Features using Bluetooth technology increase the demand on battery power and reduce the battery life. Send and receive data with Bluetooth 96 1. Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions with the device transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. The actual SAR level of an operating device can be below the maximum value because the device is designed to use only the power required to reach the network. That amount changes depending on a number of factors such as how close you are to a network base station. The highest SAR value under the ICNIRP guidelines for use of the device at the ear is 1.03 W/kg . Cyan Magenta Yellow Black Your mobile device is also designed to meet the requirements for exposure to radio waves established by the Federal Communications Commission (USA) and Industry Canada. These requirements set a SAR limit of 1.6 W/kg averaged over one gram of tissue. The highest SAR value reported under this standard during product certification for use at the ear is 1.06 W/kg and when properly worn on the body is 0.62 W/kg . Additional safety information Use of device accessories may result in different SAR values. SAR values may vary depending on national reporting and testing requirements and the network band. Additional SAR information may be provided under product information at www.nokia.com. 141 Cyan Magenta Yellow Black Index Index Symbols/Numerics 3-D ringing tones 88 802.1x security settings 120
