Get startedInsert the SIM card and batteryThe SIM card and its contacts can be easily damagedby scratches or bending, so be careful whenhandling, inserting, or removing the card.Important: Do not use a mini-UICC SIM card,also known as a micro-SIM card, a micro-SIM cardwith an adapter, or a SIM card that has a mini-UICCcutout (see figure) in this device. A micro-SIM card issmaller than the standard SIM card. 2 If the battery is inserted, lift the battery out (2).3 Insert the SIM card. Make sure the contact areaof the card is facing down (3, 4).4 Line up the contacts of the battery and thebattery compartment, and insert the battery (5).To replace the back cover, direct the top lockingcatches toward their slots (6), and press downuntil the cover locks into place (7).Safe removal. Insert a memory cardUse only compatible microSD cards approved byNokia for use with this device. Nokia uses approvedindustry standards for memory cards, but somebrands may not be fully compatible with this device.Incompatible cards may damage the card and thedevice and corrupt data stored on the card.Your phone supports microSD cards with a capacityof up to 32 GB.English 13CyanCyanMagentaMagentaYellowYellowBlackBlack

A compatible memory card may be supplied with thedevice, and may already be inserted in the device. Ifnot, do the following:1 Open the back cover.2 Make sure the contact area of the card is facingdown. Push the card in, until you hear a click.3 Replace the back cover.Remove the microSD cardImportant: Do not remove the memory cardduring an operation when the card is beingaccessed. Traditional text inputPress a number key, 2-9, repeatedly until the desiredcharacter appears. The available characters dependon the selected writing language.If the next letter you want is located on the samekey as the present one, wait until the cursor appears,and enter the letter.To access the most common punctuation marks andspecial characters, press 1 repeatedly. To access thelist of special characters, press *. To insert a space,press 0.Predictive text inputPredictive text input is based on a built-in dictionaryto which you can also add new words.1 Start writing a word, using the keys 2 to 9. MessagingCreate and receive messages, such as text andmultimedia, with your device. The messagingservices can only be used if your network or serviceprovider supports them.Text and multimedia messagesYou can create a message and optionally attach, forexample, a picture. Your phone automaticallychanges a text message to a multimedia messagewhen a file is attached.Text messagesYour device supports text messages beyond the limitfor a single message. Longer messages are sent astwo or more messages. Your service provider maycharge accordingly. To send messages, the correct message centrenumber must be stored in your device. Normally,this number is set by default through your SIM card.To set the number manually, do the following:1 Select Menu > Messaging > More > Messagesettings > Text messages > Messagecenter.2 Enter the name and number supplied by yourservice provider.Multimedia messagesA multimedia message can contain text, pictures,and sound or video clips.Only devices that have compatible features canreceive and display multimedia messages. Theappearance of a message may vary depending onthe receiving device.The wireless network may limit the size of MMSmessages. ContactsYou can save names and phone numbers in thedevice memory and on the SIM card. In the phonememory, you can save contacts with numbers andtext items. Names and numbers saved in the SIMcard memory are indicated with .Select Menu > Contacts > Names.Add a contactSelect Options > Add new contact.Add details to a contactMake sure that the memory in use is either Phoneor Phone and SIM. The battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times, but it willeventually wear out. When the talk and standby times are noticeably shorterthan normal, replace the battery.
