YAMAHA・SECURITY・SYSTEM (YSS)/L-MODE
Operating the remote control switch can set YSS and L mode.
YAMAHA ・SECURITY・SYSTEM (YSS)
This system is a function to prevent a marine jet from no permission use and the theft.
You can’t start the engine under locked conditions, you can do it only under unlocked conditions.
And you can switch “LOCK” and “UNLOCK” only with a special remote control switch for the marine jet.
“LOCK” and “UNLOCK” of YSS
“LOCK” and “UNLOCK” of YSS can be switched only while the engine is stopping.
The buzzer rings once when you push “LOCK” button.
When you push it under unlocked conditions, “SECURITY” lamp goes out and the engine cannot be started.
When you push it under locked conditions, which conditions continue.
The buzzer rings twice or three times and “SECURITY” lamp is turned on when you push “UNLOCK” button slightly, and
then the engine starting becomes possible.
(Refer to “Switch of Normal mode / L-mode” on the next page for details of operation mode.)

Points:
The signal to lock or to unlock is transmitted as soon as you release from “LOCK” button or “UNLOCK” button.
But if you push “UNLOCK” button for 4sec or more and release from it, the signal to unlock isn’t transmitted because the
signal to switch of a mode has already transmitted.
Switch of Normal mode /L-mode
The mode can be switched only while the engine is stopping under unlocked conditions.
Normal mode and L-mode are switched by pushing “UNLOCK” button for 4sec or more.
Points:
・Normal mode and L-mode aren’t switched by pushing “UNLOCK” button for 4 sec or more under locked conditions.
・The operations other than slight push of “UNLOCK” aren’t accepted under locked conditions.
Normal mode
It becomes normal mode when the buzzer rings twice. It is possible to do normal operations.
L-mode (Low RPM mode)
It becomes L-mode and “L-MODE” lamp is turned on when the buzzer rings three times.
In this mode, the maximum engine speed is suppressed to about 80% of Normal mode.
Points:
・The display and the lamp go out when there are no operations of the engine starting switch and the remote control switch
for 25sec or more. Push “LOCK” button once slightly in order to switch to locked conditions if you want to switch a
mode again.
・The remote control operations wouldn’t be accepted while the engine is operating.
Attentions:
・The range of operation of the remote control switch is within 10m in radius. (When there are no obstacles.)
When it is impossible to operate it within a range of operation, the consumption of the battery is thought as a reason.
As for the battery exchange, we want you to request it to the Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. shop without fail.
If you exchange it by yourself, the guarantee is excluded.
・Please contact the Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. shop when the remote control switch breaks down or is lost.
