seconds after the pause, the unit goes into a
standby mode.
Message Storage

messages (or unplayed and locked messages) and
the system sends you a message that exceeds the
remaining memory capacity, a message pending icon
( P ) displays.The message is stored in the system’s
virtual memory until memory space becomes
available in your LS950v.
Memory is made available by playing unplayed
messages or unlocking locked messages.
A message must be played before it can be deleted.
Messages that are locked ( L ) must be unlocked
before they can be deleted.
9
Selecting a Message from Memory
The I button and the J button allows you to
navigate through stored messages. The function of
each button depends on what the voice unit is doing at
the time the button is pressed.
While Your Unit is idle:
Unplayed Messages–Press and release the I
button to start playback of unplayed messages. The
voice unit plays the oldest, unplayed message first.
If there are no unplayed messages, the LS950v
replays the newest played message.
Played Messages–Pressing and releasing the J
button skips to the previous message. Pressing and
releasing the I button starts playback of the
selected message.
When you scroll to the end of the queue, a tone
sounds.
While Your Unit is Playing a Message:
Press and release the I button to skip to (and
play) the next newer message. If no more messages
exist, an end-of-queue tone sounds, then the voice
unit goes into standby mode.
Pressing and releasing the J button causes the voice
unit to skip to and play the next oldest message.
Deleting Messages From Memory
To delete a message, press and release the I
button to play the message, then press and release
the C button to delete the message. A beep
indicates the message was deleted. Messages that
are locked cannot be deleted.
10
To delete all played messages, press the I
button to start playback then press and hold down
the C button. Messages that are locked or not
previously played are not deleted.
Locking and Unlocking Messages
• Press the L button while listening to the message
to lock it. The lock icon is displayed and a beep
indicates that the message is locked.
• Press the L button while listening to a locked
message to unlock it. The lock icon disappears
and two beeps indicate the message is unlocked.
Up to half of the messages in message memory can
be locked to prevent them from being deleted or
replaced with new incoming messages.
When the memory is full, new messages overwrite
any messages that were previously played and
have not been locked.
