See the following pictures for the recommended position to place your radio. Figure 2. Recommended positions for radio and devicesNote: Securely tape or strap only the battery side of the radio to your body.Installing the Flexible AntennaWith the radio turned off, set the antenna in its receptacle and turn clockwise to attach it to the radio.   Figure 3. Installing the antennaNote: The tightening torque allowable is 15 lb-f (maximum) to avoid damage to the antenna and radio. To remove the antenna, turn the antenna counterclockwise. 2Strapping the Antenna onto Your BodyProcedure:1Position the spacers along the antenna to maintain 0.5 inch (1.27cm) from your body as shown in Figure 7. Figure 7. Recommended location of the spacers on the antenna2Use a duct tape or strap to fasten the spacer to your body with the methods below. Figure 8. Fastening the spacer with duct tape or strap•Do not twist or coil the antenna because this will result in antenna performance degradation. See Figure 4.  Figure 4. Handling the antenna•To satisfy compliance with RF Exposure standards and improve radio performance, use the spacers provided to maintain a distance of 0.50 inch (1.27 cm) from your body.
