IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON SAFE AND EFFICIENT OPERATION. READ
THIS INFORMATION BEFORE USING YOUR HANDS FREE IMAGER.
Users are not permitted to make changes or modify the device in any way. Changes or modifications
not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to
operate the equipment.
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two
conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any
interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
Electromagnetic Interference/Compatibility
Note: Nearly every electronic device is susceptible to electromagnetic interference (EMI) if
inadequately shielded, designed, or otherwise configured for electromagnetic compatibility.
Facilities
To avoid electromagnetic interference and/or compatibility conflicts, turn off your Hands-free Imager
in any facility where posted notices instruct you to do so. Hospitals or health care facilities may be
using equipment that is sensitive to external RF energy.
Aircraft
When instructed to do so, turn off your Hands-free Imager when on board an aircraft. Any use of a
Hands-free Imager must be in accordance with applicable regulations per airline crew instructions.
Medical Devices
Pacemakers
The Health Industry Manufacturers Association recommends that a minimum separation of 6 inches
(15 centimeters) be maintained between a handheld Hands-free Imager and a pacemaker. These
recommendations are consistent with the independent research by, and recommendations of,
Wireless Technology Research.
Persons with pacemakers should:
•
ALWAYS keep the Hands-free Imager and Bluetooth data terminal more than six inches (15
centimeters) from your pacemaker when the Hands-free Imager is turned ON.

Battery
Note: The battery is charged within the
Hands-free Imager. Once installed, the battery
should not be removed from the Hands-free Imager, unless it is damaged.
When to Charge
First-Time Use — Before you can use your Hands-free Imager, you need to charge its selfcontained battery for four hours.
Recharging— When you hear five rapid high tones through the Hands-free Imager beeper,
repeated at 20-second intervals, the Hands-free Imager battery needs to be recharged.
Over extended periods of time, batteries gradually wear down and require longer charging times.
This is normal. The more you capture images with the Hands-free Imager, the less standby time your
battery has.
The rechargeable batteries that power this product must be disposed of properly and may need to be
recycled. Contact your local recycling center for proper disposal methods. Never dispose of batteries
in a fire because they may explode.
How to Charge
A fully charged Hands-free Imager

work. The Imager captures digital images, such as signatures or pictures of any mail object or form.
The images are stored in the Hands-free Imager memory.
To capture an Image:
1. Aim and hold the Hands-free
2 to 9 inches
Imager at approximately 2 to 9
inches (5 to 22 cm) away from the
target.
2. Press once the Multifunction button
and aim the green line pattern light
towards the barcode symbol.
Release the button – A successful
scan will be followed by green blinks of the LED indicator and three beep sounds.
To initiate continues automatic scanning, press the Multifunction button twice – the imager
will go to automatic scanning mode and will continue to scan barcode symbols that will be
placed in front of it.
Note that, when the Hands-free Imager is held closer to the barcode the green line is shown
smaller, and larger when farther from the barcode. Barcode symbols with small elements should
be read closer to the Hands-free Imager and large elements farther from the Hands-free Imager.
To capture a barcode symbol, position the green line of light in any angle, as shown in the following
picture:

Troubleshooting
Whenever there is a problem, check the battery, power cable, and other physical items that might be
loose, disconnected, or failing. It is also possible, though unlikely, that Hands-free Imager or charger,
which once was operative, might become damaged.
In the case of charger operation failure, power supply is properly connected, and no physical item is
visible, it is recommended to reset charger by unplugging the power supply, waiting a few second,
and re-plugging it.
Defective battery - In this case try a different Hands-free Imager that once worked properly, if
problem is solved, the Hands-free Imager has bad battery.
