INSTALLATION
1. Download the Nanoleaf
Smarter App.
2. Turn the Nanoleaf Hub
on by connecting to
power with the USB
cable (takes up to 40
seconds to power up).
Connect the Hub to
your router using the
Ethernet cable.
3. Pair your phone to the
same router via WiFi
– to ensure proper setup,
your phone and hub
should be connected
to the same router.

4. Start the app and follow
the setup guidelines.
5. You will see the Hub
listed in the 'New
Device List.’
6. Turn on the Nanoleaf
Ivy LED light bulb.

7. Press the Hub’s discovery
button. The Hub’s lights
should start ashing in
a circular motion. The
Hub will search for the
Ivy for up to 2 minutes.
8. Ivy will pulse gently when
searching for the Hub, and
will ash strongly to indicate
a successful pairing.

listed in the 'Hub
Accessory List.’

ADDITIONAL DIMMING FUNCTIONALITY
The Nanoleaf Ivy LED light bulb also has Nanoleaf Bloom functions, which means it is dim-
mable without a dimmer switch. It can be dimmed using a standard on/off light switch.
Dim* the Lights Using your Existing Light Switch
*Nanoleaf Ivy LED light bulb is not compatible with a standard dimmer switch.
**Quickly flick the switch within 0.5 seconds.

REBOOT AND FACTORY RESET
1. Make sure the Hub has been on for at least
1 minute.
2. Use a paper clip or eject tool to press the
reset button once.
3. The Hub will be restored to factory settings
within 10 seconds.
1. At any time while the light is on: turn the light
OFF-ON quickly 8 times. Each repetition,
make sure to let the light come back on but do
not let the light stay on for more than 1 second.
2. When performed correctly, the light will start
to flash indicating that it is resetting back to a
factory condition.

JOINING NANOLEAF IVY TO OTHER ZIGBEE HUBS
Nanoleaf Ivy uses Zigbee HA 1.2 to communicate with the hub, and can therefore connect to
open third-party Zigbee HA 1.2 hubs, e.g. SmartThings, Wink, Almond+.
The steps are typically:
1. Remove Nanoleaf Ivy from the Zigbee network by the Nanoleaf Hub. This is done by a
factory reset of the Nanoleaf Ivy or through the iOS app, see separate instructions.
2. Open the Zigbee network of the third-party hub for joining, see the instructions you
received with the third-party hub.
3. Nanoleaf Ivy should flash if successfully joined to the other Zigbee network, and appear
in the associated app. It is possible to control the brightness of Nanoleaf Ivy like any other
Zigbee connected light bulb.
We do not guarantee this feature, since it depends on the hub supplier. For more informa-
tion, check with the third-party hub supplier.

SEARCHING FOR A NEW NETWORK
After performing a factory reset operation, the bulb will attempt to nd and join a new net-
work. It will make three attempts to join on the commonly used Zigbee channels (11, 14, 15,
19, 20, 24, 25), which will be followed by another three attempts on all Zigbee channels (11
to 26). If a network could not be found and joined after the six attempts then the light bulb
will stop searching and operate without wireless control. Another six attempts can be trig-
gered right away by turning the bulb o for 5 seconds and back on. If no network is joined
and the light bulb remains on for over 30 minutes, then it will no longer search for networks
even if it is turned o and on. It will simply work like a regular light with no wireless control
function. To initiate a search again, the bulb must be reset to factory settings.

VISUAL INDICATORS
While searching for a joinable network, the LED bulb will pulse its brightness gently. Once it
has joined a network, it will flash strongly five times.
During rejoining, the LED bulb will pulse its brightness gently 3 times and upon successful
rejoin will flash strongly 5 times.

TROUBLESHOOTING
If the Nanoleaf Hub does not pair with your phone:
· Ensure your phone and Hub are connected to the same Wifi. The Hub is only able to pair
with your phone if the two devices are connected to the same router. Ensure no one has
already paired. Internet control must be enabled using an Apple TV.
If the Nanoleaf Hub’s lights do not flash after pressing the discovery button:
· Reboot the Nanoleaf Hub using the instructions in the Reboot Section.
If your Nanoleaf Ivy LED light bulb does not pair with the Hub:
· Move the Nanoleaf Ivy LED light bulb closer to the Hub.
· Remove obstacles in the path between the Nanoleaf Ivy LED light bulb and the controller (ie
large appliances, mirrors, file cabinets).
· Try to reboot the Ivy.
· If does not work, factory reset Ivy.
If your Nanoleaf Ivy LED light bulb was communicating with the Hub before, but is no longer:
· Ensure the Nanoleaf Ivy LED light bulb is powered on, and has not been powered off using
the wall switch.
· Reboot the Nanoleaf Ivy LED light bulb using the instructions in the Reboot Section.

SAFETY WARNINGS
Electrical shocks are not as fun as they sound, please avoid getting one by powering off the Nanoleaf bulb/light
switch before inspecting, installing, or removing the bulb.
Though the Nanoleaf bulb is cute and dainty, please ensure that the lighting fixture can support the weight of this
lovable invention prior to installation, to prevent any property damage or injury from a falling bulb.
Please resist from touching the Nanoleaf bulb when it is on. However, if you must, do so at your own risk.
The Nanoleaf bulb, or any other bulbs, should never be installed by children or pets.
The Nanoleaf bulb is not designed to be dissected. Please do not disassemble or open the bulb. Once disassem-
bled, the bulb will no longer function and may expose you to electrical shock as punishment for murdering it.
The Nanoleaf bulb is suitable for reasonable damp locations but not for use where directly exposed to water/liquids.
Like a cat, the Nanoleaf bulb prefers to stay dry.
To ensure a long and happy life for your Nanoleaf bulb, only use in operating environments ranging between
-20°C to +45°C. (-4F to 113F). All other conditions may result in extreme sadness and early death of the bulb.
Product intended for indoor use ONLY. We do not recommend using the bulb in other environments, but please
let us know the results if you choose to take the path less travelled.
Emergency exit lights or fixtures are not ideal homes for the Nanoleaf bulbs, they will be hopelessly unhappy there.
The Nanoleaf bulb is extremely bright... and shy...please refrain from staring directly at it when it is turned on. If
you cannot resist, please admire it while wearing sunglasses, or your eyes may be upset with you.
The Nanoleaf bulb excels in both open and enclosed fixtures, because our awesome scientists gave it built-in
safety features to avoid overheating.
Once the Nanoleaf bulb is damaged, it will be polluted with evil thoughts. Stop using immediately if the bulb becomes
damaged or open, or experience its terrible wrath and mood swings.

Nanoleaf LED Lamps Limited Warranty.
Limited Warranty: 3-year free replacement limited warranty.
The warranty period is based on lamp operation of 6 hours a day/7 days a week.
If a Product fails to operate in accordance with this limited Warranty, Nanoleaf will, at its sole option, replace the
Product with the same or a functionally equivalent Product or grant purchaser a credit for a future Product purchase.
For avoidance of doubt, "to replace the Product" does not include any removal or reinstallation costs or expenses,
including without limitation labour costs or expenses, shipping costs to return non-conforming Products or any
damages that may occur during the return of Product to Nanoleaf.
This limited Warranty is subject to the following additional conditions:
· The Products have been installed and operated in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and precautions.
· The Products have not been subject to accident, neglect, abuse, misuse or acts of God.
· A Nanoleaf representative will have access to the failed Products and the fixtures used to operate them. If the fixture
or other parts become suspect, the representative shall have the right to invite other manufacturers’ representatives
to evaluate the lighting system components.
· The Product has been purchased directly from an authorized Nanoleaf distributor/dealer/store.
· This warranty is limited to lamps purchased for use in regions that are within the jurisdiction of the United States
and Canada.
· Purchase receipt must be returned along with the Products to the Nanoleaf returns center before refund or replace-
ment is issued.
· It is the purchaser’s responsibility to contact to purchaser’s original point of purchase to initiate the replacement
process The warranty and remedy set forth herein do not apply to Products, parts, advice, assistance or service which

Nanoleaf furnishes to purchaser as a business courtesy.
The warranty is not applicable to any Product which is used in violation of any applicable standard, code or instructions
for use, including those contained in the Standards for Safety of Underwriters Laboratory, Inc. (UL), Standards for the
American Standards Institute (ANSI), in Canada, the Canadian Standards Association (CSA),

RECYCLE YOUR NANOLEAF IVY BULBS
The Nanoleaf Ivy LED light bulb is made out of materials used in electronic equipment,
such as computers and laptops. Therefore, it can be recycled just like any other computer
electronic equipment.
