Snap the Mini USB adaptor to the bottom of the unit from keyboardside down, all the way until it snaps on its place on the back cover. ① ② ③ ④ CHARGE charging stand (optional) Denomination Arrow up (B1) Arrow down (B2) Return (B3) Alarm buttom (B4) Connect the unit’s USB cable to CHARGE and either the accompanying AC Adaptor or a computer USB port. Power supply CHARGE ONLY supports configuration in Single Kit! Before using the device for the first time, the battery should be fully charged. Mains charger The AC Adaptor can be used either with the MiniUSB Adaptor (included) or the Charging Cradle (optional). TREX2G User manual NE41 11005-02 v1.4 If TREX2G is powered on when connecting the mains charger, the Battery charging pop up screen appears. Power off Press B1 for 3 seconds (remove USB cable before power off). General functions TREX 2G first setup Power on Press B1 and hold for 3 seconds. After start up, the home screen is displayed. • Navigate up and down in the menus by pressing B1 and B2. • The present value is highlighted in blue. • Confirm/enter/select a value/setting by pressing B3. • Return to the home screen by selecting Quit from the main menu. • Selecting Back in a menu, returns to the previous menu. • Selecting Back and pressing/holding B3, returns directly to the home screen. • Pop up screens closes automatically after 5 seconds. TREX2G User manual NE41 11005-02 v1.4 Statusbar Set time and date Set the date and time in the Main The six icons in the statusbar are from left to right: menu > Preferences > Date and time. • Sound on • Vibration enabled • New alarm • RFID enabled • USB connected • Battery charging/battery status Enter the menus Enter the menus by pressing B2. Select hours and minutes by pressing B1 and B2, confirm by pressing B3. Repeat for the date. TREX2G User manual NE41 11005-02 v1.4 Transmitters Adding a transmitter Example: adding an ATOM, used in Room 1. After confirming date/time, the current date/time is displayed. Go to Programming > Add transmitter. A popup window appears, asking for activation of the transmitter. TREX2G User manual NE41 11005-02 v1.4 Activate the transmitter. When a transmitter is received, the TREX2G displays the Add transmitter screen. Scroll down to the four digit field just below and enter the number 1 in the rightmost position. Select identification Select Room from the drop-down list Select equipment Select Trigger from the equipment and confirm. dropdown list. TREX2G User manual NE41 11005-02 v1.4 Saving is confirmed. Confirm selection by pressing B3. Select Save to confirm the transmitter settings or Cancel to discard. The transmitter is saved. Erase a transmitter Go to Programming > Erase transmitter. TREX2G User manual NE41 11005-02 v1.4 Select transmitter and press B3. Select B3 to delete (or B2 to cancel). Positions For more information about adding/ erasing positions, please refer to the D-POS/D-ATOM Positioning system Technical Handbook, NE41 08001-02. Receiving alarms Activate an added transmitter. TREX 2G beeps and a popup window appears displaying the alarm. The transmitter is erased. The lettersymbol in the topbar indicates that this is a new alarm and the 1(1) in the bottom indicates this is the first alarm of a total of 1 new alarms. The data displayed is: • The transmitter (Room) and number (1). • The equipment (Trigger). • The alarm reason (Alarm). 10 TREX2G User manual NE41 11005-02 v1.4 Press B3 to acknowledge the alarm and close the popup screen. To look at the alarm again, enter Alarm list. Select the alarm and press B3. The alarms are sorted as newest alarms first. Press B1/B2 or B3 to return to the Alarm list. It is not possible to delete alarms from the alarmlist! Multiple alarms Normal mode If two or more alarms are received at the same time, the displays shows how many new alarms is received. The alarm is displayed except for the letter symbol and now the bottom indicates 0(0), i.e. no new alarms. TREX2G User manual NE41 11005-02 v1.4 11 As long as the alarms are not acknowledged TREX2G alerts with sound and vibratation. To silence, press B2. The alarm popup remains on the screen. Press B3 to display the first/oldest latest alarm in the list, indicated by the 1(3) (I.e. the first/oldest alarm of a total of three new alarms) in the bottom. To acknowledge the alarms in consecutive order, keep pressing B3. Alarm list browsing Pressing B3 again will acknowledge this first/oldest alarm and directly display the second alarm in the list, indicated by 1(2). However, if the user wishes NOT to acknowledge the first/oldest alarm in the list, browse the alarms in the popup list and press B3 to acknowledge the alarm desired. The popup list will remain on screen until the user or someone else acknowledges the alarm(s). It is not possible to navigate in the TREX 2G without acknowledging the remaining alarms. Log mode In log mode, only the last/newest alarm is displayed on the alarm popup screen. The user must enter the alarm list from Alarm list to acknowledge other alarms. 12 TREX2G User manual NE41 11005-02 v1.4 The letter symbol in the status bar indicates there are new, unhandled alarms in the list. Vibration Assistance alarm Backlight Press and hold the B4 for 3 seconds to send an assistance alarm (default is emergency alarm)to all other TREX 2Gs in the system. When it has been sent, the pop up screen below appears. Enable or disable vibration in Main menu > Preferences > Vibration. Enable or disable the automatic backlight function and set the corresponding timeout parameters in Main menu > Preferences > Back light. Selecting backlight always on, significantly reduces battery operating time. Tech info Displays technical information about the TREX2G. Advanced settings The settings below are further explained in TREX 2G Technical handbook. Receive mode Decides whether the TREX2G should receive alarms from: Misc settings Other settings Sound Adjust the sound in Preferences > Sound level. • Programmed transmitters (default) • All transmitters Configuration Select whether the TREX2G is alone in a system. • One TREX2G • Many TREX2G (default) TREX2G User manual NE41 11005-02 v1.4 13 Troubleshooting Frequency Select what frequency the TREX2G should operate in. Q: The TREX2G does not start A: Is the battery fully charged? A: Is the TREX2G connected via USB to a computer? If yes, disconnect and try again. Alarm display Select whether alarms should be displayed in • Normal mode (default) • Log mode Q: The TREX2G does not respond to alarms from transmitters TREX 2G Technical handbook A: Is the transmitter correctly added to the TREX2G? TREX 2G Programmer TREX2G is a a powerful tool to configure and customize the TREX2G. All parameters and values in the TREX2G can be programmed with this software. The software can be downloaded from our homepage. Use • • • • • Use only original parts. Keep away from dust, moist and dirt. Do not drop, knock, twist or shake the device. Do not warm up the device or use it near fire. For repairs, contact a NEAT dealer. Cleaning • All parts in the product kit can be cleaned with a mild soap solution and a damp cloth. Dry with a dry cloth. • Strong chemicals, alcohol, grease or other harsh substances must not be used when cleaning or handling the parts in the product kit. • The product must be disconnected from the power socket before cleaning. • After cleaning, control that the product works properly by sending a test alarm to the alarm receiver/central. Disposal At the end of the product’s use life, please dispose of it at appropriate collection points provided in your country. For disposal or recycling information, please contact your local authorities or the Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA, www.eiae.org). In the European Union, the bin label indicates that this product should not be disposed of with household waste. It should be deposited at an appropriate facility to enable recovery and recycling or returned to NEAT Electronics.
