Read lhe operating instructions carelully belore using the unit and be
sure to use it properly. After reading the instructions. store them in an
easily accessible place so they can be consulted whenever necessary.

palm thinner. This can cause color changes or delormation ol the CD-R/
RW drive.
Handling the Disc
- Do not lunch the data side ol the disc (the side at the disc with no label
or printing).

This connector is used to connect CD Digital Audio to an audro board

This connector is used to connect CD-Audio to an audio board
110 BUS Connector
This BUS conneclor rs used to control the
CD-Ft/RW drive and sent data. Use a flat
ribbon cable to connect your computer to
the CDrR/RW drive.

Use this to provide operallng power from the host computer,

Preparation
Jumper Setting
A jumper consists at a pair 01 pins and a connector which fits over me
pins When the connemor is in place it establishes an electronic link
between me pins. which enables ihe function being controlled by the
jumper. it ihe connector is removed. the eiecirpnic iink is broken and the
function is disabled.

Installing the CD-RIRW drlve in a host PC
Note
Heler to the guidebook included with your personal computer lor instruc-
tions on installing the CD-R/FlW drive This chapter glves one example 01
installation.
1. Attach the mounting reils to both the left and right sides at the CD-R/
RW drive.
2. Turn off the computer, other peripherals and unplug all the cords and
cables. Then remove the computer cover, face plate. mounting cl'ps.
end keeper bracket. Ruler to the Guide to Operations that came with
your computer for help with this step
3. Slide the disc drive out approximately 50 ~ 70mm 12 - 3 in). but do
not disconnect the cables,
4 Slide the CD-RIRW drive into the computer until it is even with the disc
drive

Inserting/Removing a Disc

Uslng the CD-R/RW Drive Installed Venlcally
When using Ihe CD~FVRW drive. in the Venice] position. load and unload
discs as shown on the diagram below.

Inserting 3 Disc
I. Press the Load/Eject bullon. The disc lray will be ejeclecl.
2. Place the disc in me cenler or the lray with me label side lacing up,
3. Press (he Losd/Eiect bullon. The disc (ray will be reiracled.
Removing a Disc
1. Pres lhe Load/Eieci bulmn. The disc tray will be aimed.
2. Remove lhe disc
3, Press lhe Load/Ejecl bullon. The disc (my will be rerracled,
WARNING:
Do not lorcibly push me disc lray in by hand. Doing so may result in damage.
Note:
ll an eiecl prohibil command has been received lnom the computer. lhe
disc tray will not be eiecied even ii the Load/Ejecl bullon is pressed.
Emergency Eject
The procedure described below can be used to remove a disc (mm the
CD»R/RW drive i! (he Load/Eject button is disabled by sollware or a
power failure occurs
1. Turn all Ihe power I0 lhe compuler installed lhe CD-R/RW drive.
2. The disc lhal is inside may sliII be spinning. Please wait lmrnule unlrl il ©.

1.3mm in diameterl min the emergency ejecl hole and push slowly.
