The system thathandles the call controls the power level at which the phonetransmits.Exposure to radio frequency energy• The phone is designed not to exceed the limits forexposure to RF energy set by national authorities andinternational health agencies.* These limits are part ofcomprehensive guidelines and establish permittedlevels of radio wave exposure for the generalpopulation. The guidelines were developed byindependent scientific organisations such as ICNIRP(International Commission on Non-ionizing RadiationProtection) through periodic and thorough evaluation ofscientific studies. The limits include a substantial safetymargin designed to assure the safety of all persons, regardless of age and health and to account for anyvariations in measurements.• *Examples of radio frequency exposure guidelines andstandards that the phone is designed to conform to:• ICNIRP, Guidelines for limiting exposure to time-varyingelectric, magnetic and electromagnetic fields (up to 300GHz)-International Commission on Non-IonizingRadiation Protection (ICNIRP). Health Physics, vol.74.pp, 494-522, April 1998.• 99/519/EC, EU Council Recommendation on thelimitation of exposure of the general public toelectromagnetic fields 0 Hz-300 GHz. 6Radio Frequency (RF) SignalsTHIS MODEL PHONE MEETS THE U.S. GOVERNMENT'SREQUIREMENTS FOR EXPOSURE TO RADIO WAVES.Your wireless phone contains a radio transmitter andreceiver. Your NEC phone is designed and manufacturednot to exceed the emission limits for exposure to radiofrequency (RF) energy set by the Federal CommunicationsCommission of the U.S. Government. These limits are partof comprehensive guidelines and establish permitted levelsof RF energy for the general population. The guidelines arebased on standards that were developed by independentscientific organizations through periodic and thoroughevaluation of scientific studies. The exposure standard for wireless mobile phones employsa unit of measurement known as the Specific AbsorptionRate (SAR). The SAR limit set by the FCC is 1.6W/kg.*Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operatingpositions accepted by the FCC with the phone transmittingat its highest certified power level in all tested frequencybands. Although the SAR is determined at the highestcertified power level, the actual SAR level of the phonewhile operating can be well below the maximum value. Thisis because the phone is designed to operate at multiplepower levels so as to use only the power required to reachthe network. In general, the closer you are to a wirelessbase station antenna, the lower the output. Before a phone model is available for sale to the public, itmust be tested and certified to the FCC that it does notexceed the limit established by the U.S. government-adopted requirement for safe exposure. The tests areperformed on position and locations (for example, at the earand worn on the body) as required by FCC for each model. The highest SAR value for this model phone as reported tothe FCC when tested for use at the ear is (TBD) W/kg, andwhen worn on the body, is (TBD) W/kg. (Body-wornmeasurements differ among phone models, dependingupon available accessories and FCC requirements). Whilethere may be differences between the SAR levels of variousphones and at various positions, they all meet the U.S.government requirement. The FCC has granted an Equipment Authorization for thismodel phone with all reported SAR levels evaluated as incompliance with the FCC RF exposure guidelines. SARinformation on this model phone is on file with the FCC andcan be found under the Display Grant section at http://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid after search on FCC ID A98-KMP7N2E1.For body worn operation, this phone has been tested andmeets the FCC RF exposure guidelines when used with anNEC accessory designated for this product or when usedwith an accessory that contains no metal and that positionsthe handset a minimum of 1.5 cm from the body.**In the United States, the SAR limit for wireless mobilephones used by the public is 1.6 watts/kg (W/kg) averagedover one gram of tissue. SAR values may vary dependingupon national reporting requirements and the network band.Copyright NoticeThe video/audio recordings you make/download areprotected by copyright laws.
