ThisequipmentcomplieswithPart68oftheFCCrulesandtherequirementsadoptedbythe
ACTA.Ontheexteriorofthecabinetofthisequipmentisalabelthatcontains,amongother
information,theFCCRegistrationNumberandRingerEquivalenceNumber(REN)forthis
equipment.AproductidentifierintheformatUS:SX5DL01BDL4311R.Ifrequested,thisnumber
mustbeprovidedtothetelephonecompany.
FCCcomplianttelephonecordandmodularplugisprovidedwiththisequipment.This
equipmentisdesignedtobeconnectedtothetelephonenetworkorpremiseswiringusinga
compatiblemodularjackthatisPart68compliant.SeeInstallationInstructionsfordetails.The
RENisusedtodeterminethequantityofdevicesthatmaybeconnectedtothetelephoneline.
ExcessiveRENsonthetelephonelinemayresultinthedevicesnotringinginresponsetoan
incomingcall.Typically,thesumofRENsshouldnotexceedfive(5.0).Tobecertainofthe
numberofdevicesthatmaybeconnectedtoaline(asdeterminedbythetotalRENs)contactthe
localtelephonecompany.Ifthisequipmentcausesharmtothetelephonenetwork,the
telephonecompanywillnotifyyouinadvancethattemporarydiscontinuanceofservicemaybe
required.Butifadvancenoticeisn’tpractical,thetelephonecompanywillnotifythecustomeras
soonaspossible.Also,youwillbeadvisedofyourrighttofileacomplaintwiththeFCCifyou
believeitisnecessary.Thetelephonecompanymaymakechangestoitsfacilities,equipment,

Methodone:PlugoneendofthetwistedpairADSLcableintotheADSLportontherearpanelof
DL4311,andinserttheotherendintothewallsocket.
Methodtwo:Youcanuseaseparatesplitter.Externalsplittercandividedigitaldataandvoice,
andthenyoucanaccessinternetandmakecallsatthesametime.Theexternalsplitterhasthree
ports:
LINE:Connecttothewalljack.
PHONE:Connecttothephonesets.
MODEM:ConnecttotheADSLportofDL4311.PlugoneendofthetwistedpairADSLlineinto
theADSLportontherearpanelofDL4311.ConnecttheotherendtotheMODEMportofthe
externalsplitter.
Step2:ConnecttheEthernetcable.Attachoneendofanetworkcabletoyourcomputer’s
Ethernetportoraregularhub/switchport,andtheotherendtotheLANportontheDL4311.
Step3:Attachthepoweradapter.ConnecttheACpoweradaptertothePWRconnectoronthe
rearofthedeviceandplugintheadaptertoawalloutletorpowerextension.
Step4:TurnonyourcomputersandpowerontheModemRouter.

Aftertheinitialconfigurationisdone,youcanlogintotheWebbasedUI.Herearethestepsto
logintheUI.
Step1:Startyourwebbrowserandenterhttp://192.168.1.1inthebrowseraddressbar.
Step2:WhenADSLconnectionisOK,thefollowingloginboxwillpopup.Enterdefaultuser
name(admin)andpassword(admin)asshownbelow.Theusernameandpasswordare
casesensitive,theyarebothinlowercase.Click“Login”toentertheWebbasedUIofthe
ModemRouter.
