User Manual
To use your phone safely and effectively, please read the following
information before use.
Safety
Switch on
Do not use your phone whenever it is forbidden to use it, or when it may
cause interference or danger.
Road safety at all times
Do not use your phone while driving so as not to affect driving. Switch off
your phone at forbidden areas. Follow any regulations or rules in force.
Switch off your phone in aircraft or near inflammable articles, chemicals
or medical equipments.
Interference
All wireless phones may be subject to interference, which could affect
their performance.
Water resistance
Your phone is not water-resistant. Keep it dry. Keep the phone and all its
parts (including accessories) out of the reach of small children.
Parts and battery
CAUTION RISK OF EXPLOSION IF BATTERY IS REPLACED BY
AN INCORRECT TYPE. DISPOSE OF USED BATTERIES
ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS
Professionalized service
Please do not disassemble the phone and its parts without authorization.
Only authorized agency may repair the phone.
Your phone
Thanks for your selecting single card and single standby mobile phone.
You can fully learn about the usage of cp18 mobile phone by reading this
manual, experiencing its sound functions and simple operation steps.
In standby state, long press “0” to have a shift among normal mode, mute
mode and vibration mode.
Insert SIM card and battery
This phone is a single card and single standby model which can hold 1
SIM card. Insert and slide the SIM card under the tab. The SIM card and
its contacts can be easily damaged by scratches or bending, so be careful
when handling, inserting or removing the card.
1. Remove the battery cover (The phone is switched off if it is in working
state.)
2. Take out of the battery (Before taking out of the battery, make sure that
the phone is switched off and the phone and the charger are disconnected.)
3. Slide the SIM card under holder
4. Install battery
5. Close the battery cover
Charge the battery
When the battery is weak, the phone will give a warning tone to indicate
low battery with an empty battery icon displayed. In this state, some of
phone functions may not be operated. When the battery becomes too weak
for the phone to operate, it switches off automatically, and please charge it.
When the phone is switched on and charged, the battery icon will flash on
the screen. When charging is finished, the battery icon will show a full
level (no flashing) on the screen. When the phone is switched off and
charged, a charging status will be displayed on the screen. After charging
is finished, an indicator for full charging will be on the screen. In standby
mode, the charging time is approximately 2-3hours.
1. Plug the charger into a standard AC power outlet.
2. A charging indicator displays on the screen. (If the battery power is
completely exhausted, the charging indicator will appear on the screen
after waiting for several minutes.)
3. After the charging is finished, pull the charger out of power outlet, and
then take off the charger from the phone.
Note: If the battery is charged only about 50% of full power, the phone
can be used after being disconnected from the charger. You are advised to
fully charge the phone after it is completely exhausted for the first time.
You are also advised to fully charge the phone after it is completely
exhausted for the second time. After following the above consecutively for
three times, the battery is easy to reach the best use state.
Switch on and switch off
In switch on state, long press [Switch On/Off] key to switch on;
In switch off state, long press [Switch On/Off] key to switch off;
Press the dial icon on standby interface to enter dial interface, input area
code and phone number and then press Call 1 or Call 2; When making an
international call, keep pressing “*” key for 2 times to get “+” and then
input country code, area code and phone number.
When dialing an extension phone number and after inputting switchboard
number, keep pressing “*” keys for three times until “P” number appears
or keep pressing “*” keys for four times until “W” number appears.
Answer a call
When a call comes in, you will be reminded by such ringtone modes as
ring, vibrate, vibrate and ring or vibrate then ring. At this moment, the
backlight is on and the screen displays the incoming call. Press Call key or
press “Receive” key to answer the call; press End key or press “Mute” key
and then press “Refuse” key to refuse the incoming call.
Note:
With the earphone, you can answer a call by pressing the button on
earphone.
View missed calls
In standby state, if there are any missed calls, they will be displayed on
the screen. The function during a call: During a call, you can adjust the
volume via up and down / left and right keys.
Security Password
Phone password
To prevent an illegal use, you can set a password protection for your
phone. After selecting this option, you must input the password to unlock
the phone every time when you switch on the phone. Then, you can send
or receive a call. You can close your phone password, but in this case, you
will not be able to prevent an illegal use.
Input the phone password and press OK to finish inputting. For example,
if your phone password is set as 1122, input: 1122. The ex-factory default
password is “1122”. If you forget your phone password, you must contact
your seller or local authorized maintenance center so as to unlock the
password.
Phonebook
This option allows you view phonebook, save, edit and delete the names
and phone numbers in phone and SIM card. This phone can maximally
store 300 phone numbers.
Enter phonebook to press “Select” to carry out the following operations
for the selected items:
1. Call: You can select voice call;
2. View: You can view the entry’s names and numbers;
3. Delete: Delete entry;
4. Send short messages: Edit short messages;
5. Send multimedia messages: Edit text or picture and send them by
multimedia messages
6. Add an entry: You can add the new entry to your phone or SIM card.
7. Move: You can move the entries to your phone.
8. Phonebook setting: You can set speed-dial entries (long press
numerical keys 2-9 and # for quick call), my number and storing
status.
9. Copy: You can copy the entries from SIM card to the phone and vice
versa.
Settings
1. SOS setting: You can set emergency number, emergency short
message setting, emergency help display setting (only press SOS)
2. Phone setting (The following functions can be set):
a: Time and date (You can set time and date.)
b: Language (You can set Chinese and other languages.)
c: Switch on or off by alarm (The phone can be set as switch on or off
according to your time setting.)
d: Other settings (For LED backlight setting, the light brightness can
be set according to your needs.)
3. Ringtone setting: You can set ringtone, volume and indication type at
your discretion.
4. Voice time: After it is started, voice time is given on the hour.
5. Voice reading: Voice reading is given when dialing a number.
6. SIM card lock: For password setting, an indication is given for you to
enter the password when switching on the phone.
7. Restore factory setting: You can have your set functions restored the
default settings (input password: “1122”
)
Toolkit
1. Alarm clock: This phone provides 3 alarm clocks which can be set
according to your needs. Select “edit” to enter alarm clock setting.
2. Memo: You can add your content or time and will be reminded by
alarm clock.
3. FM radio: You can use your phone to listen to the radio by plugging
the connection wire into earphone jack. The connection wire of
earphone has the same functions as radio antenna, so it can be placed
at your will.
a. Channel list: The phone will display broadcasting channel
locations, names (if any channels have been stored) and
frequencies. If any channels have been stored, you can select
the channel you want to receive by scrolling through the list or
select and channel location by pressing the numerical keys
1—9.
b. Manual input: Input the broadcasting channel you want to
receive (87.5MHz~108.0 MHz). For channel storage, please see
the abovementioned storing channels.
c. Auto search: Press auto search key to search the channels.
d. Setting: you can set your phone as background play and
loudspeaker on or off.
4. Calendar: This option allows you to view and edit your schedule.
5. Calculator: The phone provides you with a calculator for addition,
subtraction, multiplication and division. The calculation can be done by
using function keys.
Messages
Create a message: You can edit short messages and multimedia messages.
Multimedia messages (You can receive, transfer and save multimedia
messages to draft box.)
Inbox
You can carry out the following operations after viewing short messages:
1. Transfer short messages
2. Reply short messages
3. Delete short messages
Draft box
Short messages can be saved after you choose to send it to draft box. You
can carry out the above outbox operation after viewing short messages in
draft box.
Delete short messages: You can delete any or all of messages in inbox,
outbox, draft box and sent box.
Short message setting: You can carry out mode setting, storing status and
preferred storing location
Template: You can edit the commonly used phrases and then save them.
Voice mail: You can set two numbers. Press the number 1 for
speed-dialing.
Call Records
Only when the network supports relevant functions and your phone is in
switch-on state or within network service area, your phone can record the
calls you missed, received or dialed.
Dialed calls
After entering this option, you can select a phone number and press
“option” key to process as follows:
1. View: You can view the detailed information;
2. Call: You can have a voice call;
3. Send a short message: Directly send short messages at current page.
4. Save to phonebook: Add strange entries to the phonebook.
5. Delete: Delete the entry
Received calls
Missed call
Delete call records:
Via this option, you can view the last 20 dialed, received, missed and
refused calls. After entering this option, you can select a dialed call to save,
call or delete. For further information, please refer to “Dialed Call”. Via
this option, you can clear missed, dialed and received call records.
Troubleshooting
To save your time and unnecessary expenses, you are advised to have the
following simple checks before contacting the professional after-sale
service provider:
Fail to switch on the phone

1. Check whether you have pressed the hold key at least for above 3
seconds;
2. Check whether the battery contact is poor. Please remove it and install
it again, and then try to switch on the phone;
3. Check whether the battery is completely exhausted. Please charge it.
When switching on the phone, you are requested to enter the password to
unlock the phone. It means that you have used the automatic lock, so you
have to input your phone password before use.
1. There is dirt on the surface of SIM card. Please use clean fabric to
wipe the gold contacts of SIM card.
2. SIM card is not yet installed well. Please install SIM card correctly by
following user manual.
3. SIM has been damaged. Please contact your network service provider.
Fail to connect the network
1. The signal is weak. Please try it again at area covering strong signal.
2. Out of the provider’s network coverage
3. SIM card is invalid. Please contact your contact your network service

provider.
Fail to make a call
1. Please make sure whether you have pressed call key after dialing the
number
2. Please make sure whether your phone has been forbidden to make a
call due to phone charge owed.
3. Please make sure whether SIM card is valid.
4. Please make sure whether you have set car barring.
5. Please make sure whether you have set fixed dialing.
Poor speech quality
1. Please check whether the volume adjustment is improper.
When the phone is near high building or basement, the radio wave fails to
deliver effectively.
2. Use the phone at call peak period such as commuter time. The network
connection is congested and cannot make a call.
3. Please make sure that your phone has been switched on and connected
with the network.

4. Please make sure whether your phone charge is overdue and thus an
incoming call is not allowed.
5. Please make sure whether your SIM card is valid.
6. Please make sure whether you have set call barring.
The caller fails to hear you
7. Please keep the microphone at the bottom of phone close to your
mouth.
Short standby time
Standby time is related to the network system setting. Your phone is at an
area where the signal is received poorly. When failing to receive the signal,
your phone will continue transmitting to seek base station, which
consumes a great amount of battery power and results in short standby
time. Please use the phone at an area covering strong signal or close it
temporarily. If necessary, please change or replace the battery.
Fail to charge the phone
1. It is poor contact. Please check whether the plug has been connected
well.
2. There is dirt accumulated. Use soft and clean fabric to wipe the

connection port between phone and battery.
3. When charging the phone under 0℃ or above 45℃, please change
the charging environment.
4. Battery or charger is broken and they need a replacement.
In case of problems you meet, please record your phone model and serial
number, authorization or policy information and provide clear problem
description. Then, contact the local after-sale service provider.
Important security information
Battery
1. Do not use the damaged charger or battery. If the battery is under
short circuit, it will be damaged and produce heat to probably cause a
fire. 3. You are not allowed to place the battery under high
temperature or in fire, otherwise it will cause explosion.
2. You should return the battery scrap to supplier or place it to the
designated recovery point. It should not be thrown together with home
scrap.
3. The charging time of battery is determined by the remaining power,
battery type and charger. The battery can be charged for a thousand times,
but it is gradually consumed. When the standby time is significantly
shorter than the normal standby time, please purchase the new battery.
4. Use only the dedicated and authorized charger and battery for the phone.
The unapproved charger may cause danger, which will violate the

recognized maintenance terms for the phone.
5. When the charger is unused, please cut off its connection with power
supply.
6. Do not charge the battery too long, otherwise it will damage the battery
and shorten its service life.
7. When charging the battery, it should be placed at a ventilated place
under 0℃—+45℃.
8. The hot or cold end temperature will affect the charging volume, so
please lower or heat it to normal temperate in advance. (When the
temperature is under 0℃, the lithium battery will be affected.)
Traffic security
The phone has a powerful wireless voice communication function, so you
can make a call anytime and anywhere. You are expected to undertake
some important responsibilities.
1. When driving, you should, first things first, focus on your drive.
Please be alert and abide by the local regulations when driving and
receiving a call.
2. Learn about the wireless phone and its functions, such as speed-dialing
or redialing. These functions can help you make a call more conveniently,
preventing you from being abstracted while driving.

3. If your phone is equipped with a hands-free device, you should use it. If
possible, you will be able to improve the convenience and security in
using a wireless phone if you use one of the existing hands-free
accessories.
4. Please place your wireless phone at a reachable location. If so, you will
not need to divert your attention from road to the phone. When receiving a
call at unwanted time, you can use voice mail to reply it as much as
possible.
5. Tell the caller that you are driving. If necessary, you can hang up the
call during traffic jam or in harsh climate, because it will be rather
dangerous for you to receive the call in a raining, sleet, snowing or icy
day.
6. The air bag, brake, speed control system and fuel injection system
should not be affected by wireless transmission. If you meet the above
problems, you can contact the auto dealer.
7. Please switch off your phone when fueling, so does the areas where
two-way wireless devices are forbidden to use. Do not place the
inflammable and explosive articles with the phone, because the inner
spark may cause a fire.
8. Please switch off your phone before aircraft is about to take off. To
prevent the aircraft communication system from being interfered, using
phone on the fly is strictly forbidden. If you want to use your phone before
the aircraft takes off, you should obtain the aircrew’s consent according to
the security regulations. Please make sure that your phone will not

automatically be switched on due to alarm clock setting and outstanding
matters.
Operation environment
1. You should abide by these special regulations anywhere. Please switch
off your phone if it is forbidden to use or it may cause danger.
2. When connecting your phone to other devices, please read the user
manual to learn about the security description in detail. The phone can not
be connected with incompatible products.
3. For your satisfactory operation and personal safety, you should use your
phone by holding it to your ear at a normal working position and place the
phone antenna above your shoulder.
4. The applicable ambient temperature should be kept between 0℃-45℃.
5. Due to the used enclosure material, the GSM mobile phone shall only
be connected to a USB
Interface of version 2.0 or higher. The connection to so called power USB
is prohibited.
6. The adapter shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily
accessible.

7. Excessive sound pressure from earphones and headphones can cause
hearing loss.
Electric devices
Most of electric devices shield the radio information. Please consult the
manufacturer for related information.
1. Pacemaker: Keep your phone from pacemaker by a distance of above 6
inches (15 cm). You should not take the phone in your lapel pocket. While
using the pacemaker, use the other ear of yours to pick up a call so as to
reduce the possible interference. If you doubt the phone will interfere with
it, please switch off your phone immediately.
2. Audiphones: Some of digital wireless phone may interfere with
audiphones operation. If so, please contact audiphones manufacturer.
3. Other medical apparatuses: If you use other individual medical
apparatuses, please consult the apparatus manufacturer to confirm whether
they shield the radio wave. The doctor can assist you to obtain the relevant
information. If there are any instructions near rehabilitation facilities that
no phone is allowed to use, please switch off your phone.
If the phone may affect the electric devices installed in your auto, please

confirm its related information with the equipment manufacturer.
Emergency call
Like other wireless phone, this phone adopts wireless signal, and it can
not be ensured that the phone can be connectable under all circumstances.
So, please do not only rely on the wireless phone for the important calls
such as medical emergency. To secure making or receiving a call, your
phone must be switched on at the network service area with adequate
signal. If you want to make an emergency call, you can make a call by
pressing dial key after inputting the local emergency call number in a
standby state.
Other Important Security Information
You are requested to use only the accessories first made or approved by
the manufacturer. If any unauthorized accessories are used, it may affect
the use performance of your phone, damage your phone, result in personal
danger or violate relevant national regulations on communication terminal
products.
1. Please use the slightly wet or static-free fabric to clean your phone. Do
not use the dry or electrostatic fabric to clean the phone. Do not use
chemicals such as cleaning agent to clean the phone surface. Switch off
your phone when cleaning.
2. Your phone may generate electromagnetic field. When you use the
phone near some electric appliances and equipments such as computer, it
may cause interference and affect the phone performance.
3. Do not expose your phone under strong sunshine so as to prevent heat.

4. Prevent any liquid from flowing into the inner part of your phone so as
to avoid any damage.
5. Do not throw or knock your phone. Your violent action may damage the
internal circuit board in phone.
6. Do not connect your phone to other incompatible devices.
SAR Information
The SAR limit of Europe is 2.0 W/kg. Device types CP18 has also been
tested against this SAR limit. The highest SAR value reported under this
standard during product certification for use at the ear is 0.381W/kg and
when properly worn on the body is 0.366 W/kg. This device was tested for
typical body-worn operations with the back of the handset kept 1.5cm
from the body. To maintain compliance with RF exposure requirements,
use accessories that maintain a 1.5cm separation distance between the
user's body and the back of the handset. The use of belt clips, holsters and
similar accessories should not contain metallic components in its assembly.
The use of accessories that do not satisfy these requirements may not
comply with RF exposure requirements, and should be avoided.

The SAR limit of USA (FCC) is 1.6 W/kg averaged over one gram of
tissue. Device types CP18 (FCC ID: XY2CP18 has also been tested
against this SAR limit. The highest SAR value reported under this
standard during product certification for use at the ear is 0.688 W/kg and
when properly worn on the body is 0.393 W/kg. This device was tested for
typical body-worn operations with the back of the handset kept 1.5cm
from the body. To maintain compliance with FCC RF exposure
requirements, use accessories that maintain a 1.5cm separation distance
between the user's body and the back of the handset. The use of belt clips,
holsters and similar accessories should not contain metallic components in
its assembly. The use of accessories that do not satisfy these requirements
may not comply with FCC RF exposure requirements, and should be
avoided.
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation is subject
to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful
interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received,
including interference that may cause undesired operation.
NOTE: The manufacturer is not responsible for any radio or TV

limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules.
