Important Safety Instructions
When used in the directed manner, this unit has been designed and manufactured to ensure your personal safety.
However, improper use can result in potential electrical shock or fire hazards. Please read all safety and operating
instructions carefully before installation and use, and keep these instructions handy for future reference. Take special note
of all warnings listed in these instructions and on the unit.
1. Water and Moisture
The unit should not be used near water. For example: near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, swimming
pool or in a set basement.
2. Ventilation
The unit should be situated so that its location or position does not interfere with its proper ventilation. For example, it
should not be situated on a bed, sofa, rug or similar surface that may block the ventilation openings. The ventilation
should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items, such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc.
Also, it should not be placed in a built-in installation, such as a bookcase or cabinet, which may impede the flow of air
through the ventilation openings, a minimum distance 20 cm around the apparatus for sufficient ventilations.
3. Heat & Flame
The unit should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other appliances
(including amplifiers) that produce heat.
No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus.
4. Power Source
The unit should be connected to a power supply only of the type described in the operating instructions or as marked on
the appliance. Where the power Adaptor is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect device shall remain readily
operable.
5. Power Cord Protection
Power supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or
against them. It is always best to have a clear area from where the cord exits the unit to where it is plugged into an AC
outlet.
6. Cleaning
The unit should be cleaned only as recommended. See the section "Care and Maintenance" of this manual for cleaning
instructions.
7. Object and Liquid Entry
Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and liquids are not spilled into any openings or vents located on the
product. It shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be
placed on the apparatus.
8. Attachments
Do not use attachments not recommended by the product manufacturer.
9. Lightning and Power Surge Protection
Unplug the unit from the wall outlet and disconnect the periods of time. This will prevent damage to the product due to
lightning and power-line surges.
10. Overloading
Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience receptacles as this can result in a risk of fire of
electric shock.
11. Damage Requiring Service
This unit should be serviced by qualified service personnel when:
A. The power supply cord or plug has been damaged.
B. Objects have fallen into or liquid has been spilled into the enclosure.
C. The unit has been exposed to rain.
D. The unit has been dropped or the enclosure damaged.
E. The unit exhibits a marked change in performance or does not operate normally.
12. Periods of Nonuse
If the unit is to be left unused for an extended period of time, such as a month or longer, the power cord should be
unplugged from the unit to prevent damage or corrosion.
13. Servicing
The user should not attempt to service the unit beyond those methods described in the user's operating instructions.
Service methods not covered in the operating instructions should be referred to qualified service personnel.
14. Environment
Attention should be drawn to the environment aspects of battery disposal and the use of apparatus in moderate
climates.

Thank you for purchasing the AM/FM Portable Bluetooth Radio.
The model incorporates following features:

iPad, iPhone and iPod touch are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries.
Smart phone, iPad, iPhone and iPod models are not included.
Installation
Battery charging power connection
The unit operates on a built-in rechargeable battery.
Its battery can be recharged by connecting an USB cable with external DC5V / 500mA power supplied.
Battery
For the first time usage:
The unit was set to idle mode ex-factory, where the LCD display is blank.
(1) Press the RESET button to activate the unit and the LCD will still be blank.
(2) Press and hold the LOCK button for around 3 seconds and clock displays.
(3) Connect an USB cable and start charging the battery.
(4) Watch the battery symbol status on LCD display until the full battery symbol displays steadily.
Battery symbol indication:
Case A: USB cable disconnected (without external power supply):
Normal battery status
--- No battery symbol displays.
Low battery status
--- Empty battery symbol blinks
Case B: USB cable connected (with external power supplied):
Full battery status
--- Full battery symbol displays steadily
Battery charging status
--- Running battery symbol displays
Note:
(a) The unit will turn into standby mode automatically after the empty battery symbol blinks for around 5 minutes.
In Bluetooth mode, whilst the empty battery symbol blinks and the unit will disconnect the current Bluetooth
connection as well.
Suggested that recharge the battery as soon as possible.
(b) If the battery further discharges to a very low level which can not maintain the system memory , the previous settings
and the unit will not operate. To resume the unit operation, you may implement the steps mentioned in the section “For
the first time usage” above.
For battery low status:
(1) Connect an USB cable and start charging the battery.
(2) The running battery symbol displays.
(3) Operate the unit whilst the full battery symbol displays steadily.
Warnings:
- Batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
- Be sure that the batteries are installed correctly. Wrong polarity may damage the unit.
- Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommend are to be used.
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire, battery may explode or leak.
- Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced.

Key Lock Function
In order to prevent accidentally activate an undesired button operation, the model was designed with the Key-Lock function.

(1) To lock key, press and hold the LOCK button for few seconds until the key-lock symbol
(2) To unlock key, press and hold the LOCK button for few seconds until the key-lock symbol disappears from the LCD
display.
Bluetooth Operation
The unit playback smart phone music through Bluetooth operation.
Note :
The unit is designed mainly for Bluetooth pairing Apple device, like iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.
It also operates on other brand of smart phone / mobile device which has Bluetooth function.
Although some of the earlier mobile phone models which have lower version of Bluetooth function, it may not compatible
with this unit.
Before you did the Bluetooth pairing / connection, following information will help:
(A) Whilst the unit is searching for Bluetooth device, the Bluetooth mode indicator “BT” blinks.
Whilst the unit paired/connected with a Bluetooth device, the Bluetooth mode indicator “BT” lights steadily.
(B) The Bluetooth device name of this model:
RS1201480
In case the mobile phone/device pops up a dialog box which requests a PIN, enter:
“0000”
Bluetooth pairing/connection
1. Press the POWER
button to turn on the unit.
2. Press the MODE button to select Bluetooth mode. The Bluetooth mode indicator “BT” displays.
3. The unit will search neighboring Bluetooth device and the Bluetooth mode indicator “BT” blinks.
4. From the iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch or smart phone, turn on its Bluetooth function and it will also search for the
neighboring Bluetooth device.
5. From the Bluetooth device list of your iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch or smart phone, tap on Bluetooth device name
“RS1201480” of this model for the connection. In case it prompts for the PIN, please enter “0000”.
6. Once the smart phone or Apple device is paired with the unit, the Bluetooth mode indicator “BT” will light steadily.
Playback smart phone or iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch music
7. Playback your iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch or smart phone music.
8. You may adjust both the volume control of your smart phone/Apple device and the volume control of this unit to find the
most desirable volume setting.
9. (a) You may tap the
button from the mobile device (or the
button from the unit) to Play / Pause the mobile
device music.
(b) Press the
button to skip tracks forward / backward.
Operation hints
(A) Auto-pairing/connection : With your mobile device is paired, in the case of Bluetooth communication link disconnected
(i) pressing the MODE button a round trip back to the Bluetooth mode or (ii) turn the unit off and on again, the unit will
auto-pair with the previously connected mobile device.
(B) Manual pairing/connection: In the case you would like to pair/connect other mobile device,
(1) Switch off the Bluetooth function of the currently paired/connected mobile device.
(2) In Bluetooth mode, the Bluetooth mode indicator “BT” will blink. At the first 10 seconds after entering the
Bluetooth mode, the unit will try to connect the last connected mobile device and it will not respond to other
mobile device’s connection request. If it cannot find the last device, where it will search for the other neighboring
Bluetooth device. For connecting other mobile device, wait for 10 seconds after entering the Bluetooth mode.
(3) Turn on the Bluetooth function of the desired mobile device and pair/connect with the main unit.
(C) Out of range situation:
(1) Whilst Bluetooth music playback, the mobile device is moved to other place which is out of the Bluetooth
communication range, the communication link disconnected then moves back the mobile device within range.
(2) The main unit Bluetooth mode indicator “BT” will blink which also searches for the neighboring Bluetooth device.
(3) In this case, you can reestablish the Bluetooth communication link and connect (pair) the main unit from the
mobile device again. Since different mobile device has different reconnection performance, you may try following
approaches for the reestablishment of the Bluetooth communication.
(a) To resume the Bluetooth communication:
In Bluetooth mode, the Bluetooth mode indicator “BT” blinks. Press the
tap the
button from the main unit, then
button from the mobile device to resume music playback.
(b) If approach (C)-(3)-(a) above cannot wake up the mobile device. In this case, turn the unit off then on again,
like case (A)-(ii) above, to reestablish the Bluetooth communication link again.
Energy Saving Note
In Bluetooth mode, if the Bluetooth communication link disconnected for around 60 minutes, the unit will go into standby
mode automatically.
Radio Tuner Operation
FM Antenna
Fully extend the FM rod antenna for the best FM radio reception.
Radio Tuning
1. Press the POWER
button to turn on the unit.
1. Press the MODE button to select FM or AM radio receiving mode, where the FM radio mode indicator “FM” and AM radio
mode indicator “AM “ display respectively.
2. To manually tune to a desired station, repeatedly press the TUNE +/-
button.
3. To automatically search for stations with strong signals, press and hold the TUNE +/-
button until the
frequency digits on display begins to scan then release the button. The tuner will stop on the first strong signal it finds.
Notes:
Manual tune to select weaker stations that might be skipped during automatic tuning.
If the automatic tuning does not stop on the exact frequency of the station, for example, it stops on 88.9 MHz instead
of 88.7 MHz, use the manual tuning method to "fine tune" to the exact frequency of the desired station.
In order to prevent interference in AM radio receiving mode, the USB charging cable should not be connected.
Radio Preset Stations
The unit allows you to store up to 10AM and 10 FM stations for easy recall at any time.
Preset Station
1. Press the POWER
button to turn on the unit.
2. Press the MODE button to select AM or FM radio mode.
3. Tune to the radio station you want to store in memory by pressing the TUNE +/4. Press the MEM button. The preset channel number appears on display and blinks.

5. To select desired preset station number, press the
button from the main unit.
6. To confirm preset location, press the MEM button.
7. Repeat steps 3 to 6 to store other stations, if apply.
Notes:
- There is a few seconds delay when programming, after this delay time, the unit will automatically switch back to normal
tuner mode.
- You can overwrite a preset station by overwriting and storing the new frequency in its place.
Recalling Preset Station
1. Press the POWER
button to turn on the unit.
2. Press the MODE button to select AM or FM radio receiving mode.
3. To select desired preset station, press the PRESET button then press the
button from the main unit.
Clock Setting
When the unit is OFF (at standby mode):
Set 12/24 Hour format
1. Press and hold (around 2 seconds) the TIME button until the display digits blink then entered the 12/24 hour format
setting mode.
2. Press the TUNE +/-
button to select 12 or 24 hour display format.
Set Clock
3. Press
the TIME button again and the clock hour digits blink.
4. Press
the TUNE +/-
5. Press
the TIME button once again and the clock minute digits blink.
6. Press
the TUNE +/-
button to set hour.

Exit setting mode
7. To
save all settings and exit the setting mode, press the TIME button or wait for a few seconds.
Sleep Timer Function
Sleep to timer
This feature allows you to fall asleep to the radio or Bluetooth music to 90 Minutes.
The unit shuts off automatically when the time expires.
1. Press the POWER
button to turn the unit on.
2. Either tune to the desired radio station in radio mode or playback Bluetooth music from smart phone or iPad/iPhone.
3. To select the sleep timer to turn the unit off after 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 or 90 minutes, press the SLEEP button
repeatedly. The display shows the sleep time and the sleep indicator
. The unit plays for the selected length of time
then automatically turns off.
4. To turn the unit off before the sleep timer counts down to zero, press the POWER
button at any time.
Notes:
* To check the remaining sleep time, press the SLEEP button once.
* If you are falling asleep to Bluetooth music from an iPad/iPhone or smart phone, the sleep timer will shut off the power
to this system but it will not turn off the Bluetooth mobile device.
Care and Maintenance
- Do not subject the unit to excessive force, shock, dust or extreme temperature.
- Do not tamper the internal components of the unit.
- Clean your unit with a damp (never wet) cloth. Solvent or detergent should never be used.
- Avoid leaving your unit in direct sunlight or in hot, humid or dusty places.
- Keep your unit away from heating appliances and sources of electrical noise such as fluorescent lamps or motors.
Resetting the Unit
If the unit experiences a power surge or electric shock, it is possible that the internal micro-controller
may lock up and the unit will not respond to any commands from the panel controls.
In this event, use a straightened paper clip, toothpick or similar objects to press the RESET button located at rear of the
unit (see the below figure) then press and hold the LOCK button for around 3 seconds.
The reset operation clears the system memory and all of your previous settings will be erased.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE SHARP, POINTED OBJECT TO PRESS THE RESET BUTTON.
IT MAY DAMAGE THE RESET SWITCH INSIDE THE UNIT.
