speed in this positron. This is one at easy techniques for beginners.
®®’ The yacht is sailin with the quartering wind and can sail as fast as in the @®'
case. However, iit 9 wind is too strong, the rudder may become uncontrollable for
you to collect the yacht. Do not sail when it is windy,
The yacht runs with the wind uomin right behind (without depending on the Bernoulli‘s
théorglrn). The point is to extend t e sails across the sides to get as much wind as

orem makes a yacht sail
e theorem that RC ya sail lonuard is similar to the theorem that airplanes fly. it
is because the cross sentinns oi the wings and sails are similar and propulsive force of
both airplanes and yachts is obtained from the eflect of wind. When a wind blows, the
speed of the wind on the surface of the front side and reverse side of the sail varies,
thereby generating running lift “2”. Running lilt "Z" has lcrce “Y" which pushes the RC
yacht sideways. To resist this tome “Y", the keel is uselul. Running lift “2" transient-2d
through the keel becomes resistance “V“ which negates the opposite force “Y". Then the
remaining lorce “X' moves the RC cht lorward. (The above theory is called Bernbulii‘s
théorem that explains how planes y and how yachts move lorward.)
