Read these safety notes and the operating instructions before putting this machine into operation. This machine may only be employed for its intended use, as described in the operating instructions. All covers, flaps and caps must be installed and closed in the proper manner. The machine may only be operated by persons who have been instructed in its handling and expressly entrusted with its operation. This machine must not be operated with inflammable liquids, health-endangering substances and/or inflammable dusts. Take care not to crush the mains lead or to drag it over sharp corners. If the mains lead is damaged, the machine must not be used until the lead has been replaced with an approved lead. Observe the protection class and type of protection. Repairs and maintenance work may only be carried out by a person authorised by Alto or by an acknowledged organisation. If used for trade purposes the cleaner must be subjected to a regular safety check, normally once per year. Observe the applicable national regulations! This machine is suitable for commercial operation under heavy-duty conditions, such as in hotels, schools, hospitals, factories, shops, rental apartments and all other applications which do not constitute normal household cleaning jobs. Other persons or children must not be in the working area during operation. When using cleaning fluids, a hazard can suddenly arise if these fluids are hot, under high pressure or if the fluids themselves represent a health hazard. Use only the cleaning agents approved by Alto. If either fluid or foam escapes unintentionally from the machine, switch off the machine immediately and observe the notes given in the operating instructions. Check the filling levels at regular intervals and clean the tank as described in the operating instructions. If attachments or accessories are used, the safety notes and operating instructions for this equipment must also be observed. Do not overload the attachment plug sockets on the machine by connecting equipment with a rating higher than the rating of the socket. Use brushes, pads and accessories only as described in the operating instructions. Failure to observe these instructions can lead to a hazardous situation arising. This machine may only be operated on a maximum gradient of 2% unless steeper gradients are approved in the operating instructions. Move the machine carefully on ramps and slopes. Do not change direction on slopes. Do not park the machine on slopes. When leaving the machine, remove the key and secure the machine to prevent unauthorised operation. (Fig. 1/1) Swing handle upward and adjust angle. (Fig. 1/4) Loosen height lock (Fig. 1/3), move handle into operating position (Fig. 1/2), tighten lock. (Fig. 1/1 and 1/3) 2.1.2 Mounting brushes • • • • • • • • Remove tank cover. (Fig. 6) Take brushes out of dirty water tank. Lay back automatic cleaning machine onto handle. Push brushes (2x) into mount. (Fig. 11) Engage brushes by turning slightly. Stand up machine again. Position tank cover at front and engage by pressing lightly toward rear. Make sure that cover is properly mounted. (Fig. 2) CAUTION! Lay suction hose toward rear in fresh water tank. (Fig. 4/1) 2.1.3 Connecting suction hoses • • • Push connection hose of suction unit (Fig 8/1 and 8/2) onto connection piece (Fig. 3/3) on tank cover. (Fig. 8/5) Press drain plug into emptying opening. (Fig. 8/4) Engage spraying hose on back in quick-change coupling. (Fig. 5/2) 2.1.4 Electrical connection • • Make sure that voltage indicated on rating plate of machine matches mains voltage. Connect mains plug to mains. Set ON/OFF switch (A) for suction turbine to ‘ON’ position (Fig. 7). Water is vacuumed off. Regulate vacuum power by turning ring on suction hose. Lift tank off automatic cleaning machine and pull off drain plug. (Fig. 8/4) • To drain dirty water tank, pour out contents via housing corner. Set three-position switch (B) to position ‘1’. (Fig. 7) Spraying pump runs. Flush spraying pump with clean water for approx. 1 min. Catch exiting clean water of vacuum up with machine. Remove tank from automatic cleaning machine before cleaning and draining dirty and fresh water. Drain dirty water tank: • Pull of drain plug. • Pour out dirty water via housing corner. Remove fresh water bag: • Slightly pull up tab of fresh water bag (Fig. 3/1) and unhook from edge. • Lay bag in tank and remove through large tank opening. (Fig. 3/2) • Drain fresh water tank and flush with fresh water. • If necessary, hang up bag to dry and thoroughly flush tank. 9 Servicing/Maintenance 3.1 SSE 350 Hook in fresh water bag: • Hook tab of fresh water bag on left side of tank opening seen in direction of travel. (Fig. 3/1) • Separate cover from suction hoses and flush thoroughly. • Flush suction sieve for cleaning agent (Fig. 4/2) and sieve in cover with clean water. • Clean machine and suction lips with damp cloth. Pull brush and driving disk off mount and wash. (Fig. 11) When remounting, make sure that brush or driving disk engages in groove. • • suction nozzles. (Fig. 10/1) Pull off suction nozzles downward. Release brushes at left and right and pull off (remove by turning). 3.4.1 Warranty Non-compliance with the handling instructions, repairs carried out with non-original spare parts and attempts to carry out the repairs by the user lead to a loss of the right to make claims under the warranty. Allow motor to cool. • Have supply line checked by electrician. > Suction nozzle plugged. > Connection of tank cover open. > Tank cover not properly fitted or seal defective. > Suction sieve in tank cover plugged. > Drain plug on tank not completely closed. • • • • Eliminate plugging. Connect suction hose. Fit tank cover properly or replace seal. Rinse sieve with clean water. • Check seal, press on plug firmly. Stripes form > Suction lips dirty or worn. • Clean or replace suction lips. Insufficient supply of cleaning agent > Lines or nozzles plugged with cleaning agent. • Flush fresh water tank and line system.
