Our cellular phones are approved for GSM networks conforming to communications

industry standards of the People's Republic of China, complies with FCC rules and

regulations, and meeting stringent European standards.

To use this phone you must subscribe to a GSM service from a provider. We have

included many features in this device but their function depends on the features available

with your subscribed wireless network. Please contact your service provider for more

information.

We strongly recommend you to carefully read and understand this manual before

using your phone in order to keep it under best conditions for your effective usage and

utmost satisfaction.

SAR

Your phone, a radio transceiver designed and manufactured not to exceed exposure

limits to radio waves or radiofrequency (RF) energy set by the FCC of USA. Given in

terms of a unit referred to as the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), which is a measure of

the amount of radio frequency energy absorbed by the body when using a mobile phone,

these limits are part of comprehensive guidelines adopted and consistent with

recommendations by independent scientific organizations through periodic and thorough

scientific evaluations. The standards include a substantial safety margin designed to

assure the safety of all persons regardless of age and health.

The FCC limit for public exposure from cellular telephones is an SAR level of 1.6

watts per kilogram (1.6 W/kg) ave. over 1 gram of tissue.

Tests are conducted with the phone transmitting at its highest certified power levels in

all tested frequency bands. Thus, the actual operating SAR level can be well below the

maximum value. This is because your phone is designed to use only minimum power

required to reach the network. As a general rule, the closer you are to wireless base

station antenna the lower the power output.

The tests are performed in positions and locations (e.g.: at ear or worn on the body)

as required by the FCC for each model. The highest SAR for this model when tested for

use at head is 1.22 W/kg (1900MHz) and 0.962 W/kg (850MHz), while 0.731 W/kg

(1900MHz) and 0.746W/kg (850 MHz) at body.

To comply with RF exposure requirements, a minimum distance of 1.5 cm between

the body and the device must be maintained. Third party holsters and similar accessories

must not contain metallic parts. Body-worn accessories that do not meet these

requirements may not comply with the RF exposure requirements and should be avoided.

Unauthorized antenna, modifications, or attachments could impair call quality, damage the

phone, or result in violation of regulations. Do not use the phone with a damaged antenna,

if a damaged antenna comes in contact with the skin, may result to a minor burn. Contact

your dealer for a replacement.

This transmitter must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other

antenna or transmitters.

Safety Precautions

Please read and remember the following safety precautions. Failure to observe these

instructions may be dangerous, may lead to suspension of cellular service, or even

resulting into legal consequences. Always follow safety regulations in your area.

Road Safety

Obey local Laws, always park your properly vehicle first and avoid using hand-held

telephone while driving. If unavoidable and allowed, use hands-free mode or hands-free

devices when driving. For best performance, use with external antenna while inside a

vehicle. Some electronic device in the car may interfere or be interfered by cellular phones.

Allow only qualified technician to install your phone to your vehicle. Do not place your

phone atop an airbag or air bag deployment area.

Refueling Safety

For maximum safety, switch off your cellular phone when refueling or inside a

refueling station.

Interference

Mobile radio transmitting equipments including cellular phones may cause and are

susceptible to interference, which may cause danger. Please follow special regulations in

your area. Switch OFF your cellular phone whenever and wherever its use is restricted.

Hospital Safety

The use of cellular equipment may interfere with operation of medical devices in

medical facilities. Remember to follow special regulations enforced in these area and

switch OFF your phone when necessary.

Aircraft Safety

Using cellular telephones in an aircraft may disrupt radio transmission and signals that

may be dangerous to aircraft operation. Be sure to switch off your cellular telephone while

inside an aircraft. For maximum safety, remove the battery pack from the phone unit.

Electronic Device Safety

Health Industry Manufacturers Association recommends that a minimum distance of 6

inches be maintained between a hand-held wireless phone and a pacemaker. These

recommendations are consistent with the independent research and recommendations of

Wireless Technology Research.

Persons with pacemaker should take note of their conditions. If there is any reason to

suspect that interference is taking place, please switch OFF your phone immediately.

Observe the following diligently:

9 Should always keep the phone at a distance of more than 6 inches from

the pacemaker when the phone is switched ON.

9 Should never carry the phone in a breast pocket.

9 Should use the ear opposite the pacemaker when making or answering

a call to minimize the potential interference.

Chemical & Explosive Site Safety

Follow all restrictions regarding the use of cellular devices in chemical plants, fuel

storage, fuel distribution area, or where blasting operation is in progress.

Sensible Usage

For satisfactory operation, use the equipment in accordance with the instructions in

this manual. When using this device, obey all regulations, be wary of your own personal

safety before convenience of using the phone and respect privacy and legitimate rights of

others.

Child Safety

Keep your phone and all its accessories away from children.

Accessories & Batteries

Use only accessories that are approved or are specifically made for your cellular

phone. Do not connect incompatible devices. Read its user guide carefully first before

connecting other devices.

Qualified Service

Only qualified and authorized persons may disassemble, service or install the phone.

Disposal

As with all electronic equipments, your phone and its accessories should not be

treated as ordinary household waste when the time for disposal comes, it should be

handed to appropriate collection point for proper disposal and recycling. By doing so, you

will be helping in preventing potentially negative consequences to the environment and

human health.

Emergency Calls

Emergency calls may be made using the cellular telephone in network service areas.

Operating Conditions

Your phone is not water and moisture resistant or resistant to extreme temperatures.

Do not use the device in damp or wet areas as moisture and liquids may corrode its parts.

Do not expose your phone to temperature below -10 degrees or above +55 degrees

Celsius.

Operating Distance

This phone model is tested and meets RF exposure guidelines if used as follows when

receiving or transmitting voice or data:

Against the ear: hold the phone as normally would in using a landline phone.

Body worn: place in a carrying accessory with no metal parts at 1.5 cm minimum

distance from the body. Use of other accessories may not ensure compliance. Position the

phone 1.5 cm away from the body if no body worn accessory is used or not holding it

against the ear.

Care & Maintenance

The following suggestions will help you take care of your phone for optimal

performance:

Keep the phone and all accessories out of reach of children.

Keep the phone dry. Your phone is not water resistant. Liquids contain minerals that

can corrode electronic circuits.

Keep the phone away from extreme temperatures. High temperatures can shorten

the lives of electronic components and the device; melt plastics parts; and damage

batteries. Remember to remove your phone from your vehicle when parked at an

open space.

Keep a back up or written copy of important information stored on your phone.

Do not attempt to open or disassemble the phone. Non-expert handling may damage

the phone.

Do not use strong cleaning solvents, either acidic or basic, to clean the phone.

Use the accessories and battery type as specified in the instructions, or as provided

by the manufacturer, use of unqualified accessories will invalidate the warranty.

Press from standby to adjust key tone volume;

press while in call to adjust earpiece volume;

Press and hold from standby to activate Music Player;

Press in Camera mode to capture photo.

OK Key

Press from standby to access web homepage;

Otherwise acts as the confirm key when pressed.

0-9 Numeric Keys

Hit corresponding keys to input number when dialing or numbers and

characters when editing;

long press “1” key to go to voice mail;

press “0” key when editing to enter a space;

long press “0” key when dialing to input “+” for international access..

＊(star) Key

Press in standby to input “*” character;

long press from standby activates and deactivates silent mode;

press when editing to shift to change case;

press when in music player mode to mute player.

＃(pound) Key

Press in standby to input “#” character;

long press from standby to lock or unlock keypad;

press when editing to change input method.

Understanding Display Icons

Icon Description

Signal Strength

Shows the received signal strength. Fuller bar means stronger signal.

Alarm

Appears when an alarm is set and activated.

Battery Status

Shows the charge level of phone battery. Fuller bar indicates more power

left. When charging, the bar will scroll until the battery is fully charged.

SMS

Shows on top of the display to indicate there are unread short text

messages.

MMS

Shows on top of the display when receiving or sending multimedia

messages with the arrow flashing.

SMS Full

Shows when message Inbox is full.

Silent

Shows when your phone is on silent or vibrate only mode (please refer to

* key).

Ringing

Shows when your phone alert mode is on a mode that includes ringing.

Hands-Free

Shows when your phone is on hands-free mode (please refer to the

quick-guide).

Quick Reference

Make a call Dial the number, press the CALL/ANSWER key.

Answer a call Press the CALL key or the ACCEPT key.

End a call Press the END/CANCEL key.

Reject a call Press the END/CANCEL key or the BUSY key.

Muting Press the Mute ON / Mute OFF.

Redial Press the OPERATE/CALL key twice.

Adjust call volume Press the up or down flank key during call.

Hands-free ON/OFF Press OPTIONS, select Amplified mode ON, press OK,

choose YES to activate hands-free during call, follow the

same procedure whilst selecting Amplified Mode OFF to

deactivate. Or press the CALL/ANSWER key during call and

select YES to activate.

Hold a call Press the OPTIONS, select Hold call, press OK, to unhold,

follow the same procedure whilst selecting Take Back Call.

Save a contact Key in the number using the numeric keys, press STORE or

the OK key, select a memory location using the up or down

navigator, and hit OK, enter each field and press OK key to

confirm, then select or press SAVE.

Look for a contact Press the down navigator key or access the Phone Book

menu and scroll to the desired contact.

Compose & send SMS Select Menu Æ Messages Æ New Messages Æ SMS,

compose, press Options and select Send or hit OK key, input

recipient number, and hit OK key.

Compose & send MMS Select Menu Æ Messages Æ New Messages Æ MMS,

compose, press Options and select Send or hit OK key, input

recipient number, and hit OK key.

Read messages Press Read or the OK key when alerted of a new message

receipt. To read inbox messages, press the left navigator key,

scroll to desired message, and press Options and select

Read or hit OK key.

Reply to message Press Options and select a Reply option, then follow

procedure as in composing and sending a new message.

Enter a menu Press the Left Soft Key.

Back out from a menu Press the Right Soft Key. Pressing END/CANCEL key will

back-out to the standby window.

Take a picture Go to Menu Æ Camera Æ Camera, point camera at subject

and press OK key. Or press the up navigator key, point, and

press OK key to capture.

Play a song Press & hold Music Player Quick Key, scroll to desired song

and OK key to play.

Lock/Unlock keypad Press and hold the “#” key to lock or unlock keypad.

Press or Hit Press toward the underside of the phone briefly and release.

Long Press or Press & Hold Press toward phone underside, keep the position for

about three seconds, and release.

Preparing Your Phone

Installing SIM Card

 Please keep your SIM card out of reach of children.

 Scratches and bends can easily damage the SIM card. Please be extra careful when

installing, removing, handling or storing your SIM card.

 Before installing or removing the SIM card, make sure the phone is switched OFF,

then remove the back cover and battery.

1. Push down the back cover latch at the rear lower center portion and slide the back

cover toward the bottom of the phone until it can be removed;

2. Remove the battery (see Removing Battery);

3. Gently slide in the SIM card into the SIM holder flat side first and the beveled corner

at the upper left corner with the metal contact face down.

4. Fit the battery and replace the back cover by pushing and sliding it towards the top of

the phone.

Fitting Battery

Push the battery into place with the label down and metal contacts at the upper left

top side in the back of the phone until the battery fits into place, then replace the back

cover (see #4, Installing SIM Card).

Removing Battery

Remove the back cover (see #1, Installing SIM Card) then push toward the top of

the phone and lift the battery at the bottom side center to remove.

 Settings and data stored in the phone or SIM card may be lost after the battery is

removed.

SIM Card Holder

Charging Battery

Plug the USB connector into the charger (if the connector position is wrong, it

cannot be inserted, do not force it into the port, turn it around and try again) and plug the

charger into an AC outlet with the SAME voltage rating, then plug the mini USB connector

into the USB/charging port at the bottom side of the unit;

During charging, the battery icon on the LCD will scroll until the battery is fully

charged;

When done, pull the connector out of the charging port.

The battery temperature may increase during charging, this is normal, please do

not be alarmed.

 When the battery is low, the phone display will show a warning message and the USB

port will be disconnected if it was connected. Recharge the battery within 15 minutes

to avoid the inconvenience of the phone shutting off during a call. Your phone will

power off automatically if the voltage becomes too low. Prolonged use of battery in

low charge state will adversely affect the quality and life of the battery.

 To ensure normal operations, please use approved chargers.

 Do not remove the battery when charging.

 Before your first use, please charge the battery for at least 4 hours. It will achieve

maximum efficiency after several charge and discharge cycles.

Caring for Battery

¾ This phone uses a rechargeable battery as a power source, when the charge is

weak, recharge immediately to protect the battery life. It is best to drain the battery

charge first.

¾ When not using the charger, unplug it from the power source and the phone. Over

charging will shorten the battery life. Do not leave the charger connected to the

unit or battery for more than a week.

¾ Temperature affects battery charge capacity. Your battery may need to be

warmed up or cooled down before charging. If the battery temperature is more

than 40oC, it will not recharge.

¾ Use the battery for its original purpose. Do not short-circuit the battery by

connecting the positive and negative terminals with a conductor.

¾ Do not use a damaged battery.

¾ The battery will not perform properly and its life will be shortened if exposed to

extreme temperatures.

¾ Do not place the battery in fire, follow local laws and ordinances in disposing of

used batteries.

Security Codes

PIN Code

The PIN (Personal Identification Number) code protects your SIM card against

unauthorized use. It is normally supplied with the SIM card package. Be careful while

entering PIN code. 3 wrong tries in entering PIN code will block the SIM from use,

requiring input of PUK code to unblock. Please contact your operator for further

details.

PIN2 Code

The PIN2 code is required when activating certain special features (such as call

costs and fixed dialing). It is normally supplied with the SIM card package. Be careful

while entering PIN code. 3 wrong tries in entering PIN code will block the SIM from

use, requiring input of PUK code to unblock. Please contact your operator for further

details.

PUK Code

The PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) code is required to unblock a blocked PIN

code. It is normally supplied with the SIM package; otherwise contact your service

provider for the code. Keep your PUK code in a safe place, do not throw it away.

Contact your service provider if it is lost.

If your SIM is blocked，your phone will ask you to enter PUK code to unblock. You

have 10 tries to enter the right PUK code, after which your SIM might be permanently

blocked.

Phone Password

The Phone Code is a 4 to 8 digit security code that protects unauthorized use of

your phone. The factory default code is “0000”. Once activated, the phone will request

you to enter the Phone code every time the SIM card is changed. For every wrong

code entry, the time interval to the next allowed input will be lengthened. For your

protection, change the default phone code as soon as possible. Do not forget your

phone password.

Using Your Phone

Powering ON/OFF

Press and hold to switch your phone ON or OFF. Startup and goodbye

animation will be played during powering ON and OFF.

If there is no SIM card, the SIM card is defective, or the SIM card contact is loose,

you will be prompted with a warning after powering ON. Shut down and check your SIM

and its installation.

If your phone lock is activated and you changed your SIM, you will be asked to

enter your phone code. Input the phone password and press OK.

If the PIN is activated, you will be asked to enter the PIN. Input your PIN code and

press .

If your SIM is being blocked, you will be prompted to enter the PUK. Input the PUK

code and hit .

If you are powering ON during charging, a “Battery charging” prompt will appear.

Press , , or to continue.

If the phone detected an authorized network, the screen will display the network

name and signal strength. If no authorized network is found，the phone can only make

emergency calls or use non-communications features.

Making a Call

In standby mode, press the numeric keys corresponding to the phone number you

are calling, including necessary area codes. Use to erase erroneous inputs. Press

when done to connect.

To dial a number from phone book, please refer to Phone Book section. To redial

a number from call records list, please refer to the Call Records section.

Refusing a Call

Press or (returning a busy tone to the caller) to reject an incoming call.

Answering a Call

When there is an incoming call, the phone will give the corresponding alert

according to your settings (such as Vibrate or Ring). If your network supports caller ID, the

screen will display caller’s name, number, and picture (if available on your phone). You

can answer the incoming call by pressing or .

Adjusting Call Volume

Press the (Flank Up/Down) Key to adjust earphone volume during call,

there are 7 volume levels to choose from. Or you can press (Options) and select

Amplified Mode ON to turn on the hands-free loud speaker.

Ending a Call

Press to end a call or to terminate a connection after dialing.

Locking & Unlocking Keypad

Press and hold the key from the standby mode to lock or unlock the key pad

and prevent accidental key press.

Emergency Services

You can contact emergency service numbers without the need of a SIM card.

Different networks use different emergency numbers, please contact your network

operator for details.

Making an International Call

To make an international call, please long press to display “＋” sign

(international call dial prefix), then enter the country code, area code, and phone number.

Use to erase erroneous inputs. Press when done to connect.

Dialing from Phone Book

Enter the Phone Book (by pressing the down navigator or via the menu), use the

up or down navigator to scroll to the desired contact, or press the first letter of the name of

the desired contact as saved in your phonebook to start the list with names beginning with

the letter, then scroll to the desired name, press to dial.

Playing Music

Your phone’s music player supports MP3, WAV, MIDI and other music file formats.

Long pressing will open the Music Player. For detailed operation of the player,

please refer to the Media Player section.

USB Removable Mass Storage Media

Your phone may be used as an USB removable mass storage media with about

36 MB of memory capacity by simply plugging the USB data cable into the phone and the

desired device.

Please note that you may only be able to access and perform operations on the

files saved on the mass storage but not the files in the phone memory. After downloading,

remember to stop the USB removable mass storage media (if you are using a PC with

WindowsTM OS, click on the USB Mass Storage Device icon at the Task Bar and click to

stop the device) first before removing the data cable to prevent accidental data loss.

Using the In-Call Menu

The feature provides some operations and features while you are in active call

with a party or several parties. Some of them are network dependent. Please ask your

network operator or service provider if they are available. Press to enter the in-call

Options menu while on an active call to choose from the following functions:

¾ Amplified Mode ON/OFF: to activate the loudspeaker for hands-free function.

¾ Hold call/ Take back a call: to hold the active call or resume a held call.

¾ End call: to terminate the call.

¾ Secret Mode ON/OFF: if you need to speak confidentially with another person

present without the other party hearing your conversations, you can choose the

feature to Mute/Un-mute the phone.

¾ Phonebook: to perform search, add, and other phone book operations.

¾ Main menu: to access the Main Menu.

Navigating the Menus

Press from the standby screen to enter the Main Menu. Use the Navigator

keys to scroll or move among the submenu and options; press or to select and

enter; hit the key to back-step or the key to return to the standby screen. The

title bar atop each menu screen is the title of the current screen and at the same time the

previous screen’s selected menu item.

Menu options may have a right arrow on the right, this means that you may enter

its sub-menu by pressing the right navigator key.

There are two types of Option menus. The blue-colored options are operations or

functions on the item or entry that you have scrolled to. The green-colored options are the

operations or functions on the list or menu (as a whole).

Messages

Your phone provides support for two types of messages, SMS (Short Messaging

Service) and MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service). The Messages cluster menu

provides the functions to write, send, read, and save text or multimedia messages. These

are network dependent functions, please obtain further details from your operator

¾ Tip: At the message details interface in any of the mailboxes, scroll to a field that

contains an unsaved number, press (View / Store) twice, and you will be able

to save the number to your phone book.

MMS

A multimedia message is a message that may contain, aside from text, objects

such as photos, voice, music, images, animations, symbols, etc. Enter the MMS edit

mode to input text (please refer to the Input Methods section for more details) of the

message. You can press for the following options during editing:

 Send: confirm sending of message.

 Insert: insert objects into the message such as Take a Photo; Record a voice;

Comment; music from My Ringtones, a picture or an animation from My Images;

Symbols; Business Cards; Calendar events; or items from the Mass Storage.

 Remove: available after an object is inserted, this tool helps you remove inserted

objects.

 ABC Mode: changes input method to ABC mode.

 123 Mode: changes input method to 123 mode.

 T9 options: change to T9 input options like English; Bopomofo; Pinyin; Simplified

Chinese Stroke; Traditional Chinese Stroke.

 Save: save the message to Draft.

 Cancel: quit composing and return to Messages menu.

 Slide: manages the slide. The options are:

Goto (move to a slide, available if more than 1 slide was present);

Remove Slide (remove a slide, also only available when more than 1 slide

is present).

Insert After (insert a slide after current slide);

Insert Before (insert a slide before the current slide);

Slide duration (how long the slide will be played);

 Preview: play a preview of the MMS.

 Help: display helpful hints for the feature.

After composing, you can either press and select Send or hit to go to the

recipient input mode. It is possible to send to multiple recipients by adding one recipient

after the other or if you had set mailing list groups, adding the group. To input a recipient,

you can input the number using the numeric key pad or press for the following

options:

 Contacts: go to the Phone Book and select contacts as recipients (please refer to

Phone Book section for details on phone book operations) .

 ABC: use English input method to input an E-mail address.

 Add Group: add a group from the mailing list previously created.

 Editor: return to the message editor.

When the recipient has been input, press to send or for these options:

 Send: confirm sending of message.

 Add Recipient: add a recipient, you can add as Add To (main recipient) or as

Add Cc (carbon copy).

 Delete: delete the current (highlighted) recipient.

 Editor: return to message editor.

 Add Subject: Add a subject line for the message.

 Send Options: set message sending options such as Request Delivery Report

(Activate/Deactivate); Validity (Max.; 1 Hr.; 12 Hrs.; 1 Day; 1 Week); Priority

(Normal; High; Low); Sender Visibility (Activate/Deactivate); and Early Delivery

Time (Activate/Deactivate).

 Save: Save the message to Draft.

SMS

This lets you compose text messages. Enter the SMS edit mode to input text

(please refer to the Input Methods section for more details) of the message. You can press

for the following options during editing:

 Send: confirm sending of message.

 ABC Mode: change input method to ABC mode.

 123 Mode: change input method to 123 mode.

 T9 options: change to T9 input options like English; Bopomofo; Pinyin; Simplified

Chinese Stroke; Traditional Chinese Stroke.

 Save: store the message to Draft.

 Cancel: quit composing and return to Messages menu.

 Activate Silent: turn off the key pad tone while editing.

 Formatting: manage the format of your text, options are:

Upper Case (use all caps.);

Text Alignment (align the lines to the Left, Right, or Center the lines);

Style (use Normal, Bold, or Underlined style);

 Insert: insert objects to the message such as Emoticons; Sounds; Business

Cards; Calendar events; items from the Mass Storage, or symbols.

 Help: display helpful hints for the feature.

After composing, you can either press and select Send or hit to go to the

Options

When an incoming message is received, you will be notified with an alert screen

and an audio / vibra alert (according to your alert settings), press to read the

message. Or you can press and the message will be stored in the Inbox where you

can read it later. A display icon will be displayed on the top line of the screen indicating

that there are unread messages in the Inbox.

To read messages in the Inbox, press the left navigator key (shortcut to Inbox

messages) from standby or follow the above path to access the Inbox message list. As

you scroll to a message in the list, an icon on the left of the second line of the screen

indicating if it is a SMS ( ) or MMS ( ), and an icon on the opposite side will

indicate if it is stored in the phone or SIM memory for SMS and the size for MMS. Each

message in the list will show the name or number of the sender, the first part of the

message will be in bold if it is unread or normal if it was read. Press to read or view

the message.

MMS

The following options are available by pressing when scrolled to an Inbox

MMS message:

 View: display the MMS by pressing inside the message for options:

Reply…: compose a reply to the sender either as a completely new

message (Reply) or include the received message (Reply with history). It

is the same as composing a new message without the need to enter

the recipient.

Forward: send the MMS to a third party.

Restart: replay the MMS.

Details: display message details (same as Details below).

Call Back: make a return call to the sender.

Delete: erase the message.

Extract: extract the objects in the message such as graphics or audio.

Help: helpful hints for using the MMS feature.

 Reply…: compose a reply to the sender either as a completely new message

(Reply) or include the received message (Reply with history). It is the same as

composing a new message without the need to enter the recipient.

 Forward: send the MMS to a third party.

Composing a reply is the same as composing a new message without

the need to enter the recipient.

Reply with History: compose a reply to the sender including the received

message with it.

Forward: send the MMS to a third party.

Call: make a return call to the sender.

Delete: erase the message.

Activate Silent: turn off the key pad tone while editing.

Extract: extract the phone numbers

Help: helpful hints for using the SMS feature.

¾ Tip: You may want to delete some unimportant messages from time to time. A

full Inbox will affect your phone’s ability to receive new messages and the

phone’s performance as well.

Function: Messages that are being sent or failed to be sent are kept and may be

accessed here.

¾ Tip: Failure to send messages may be due to a lot of possible causes, but

always make sure your recipient’s number is correct before sending or

resuming.

that you have activated the Store Sent Messages option in the Message

Settings.

Sender Visibility: Activate or Deactivate hiding your number from recipient.

Maximum Size: Activate (and set to 50 or 100 kB) or Deactivate maximum

in the Sent box.

 Acknowledgement: set Activate or Deactivate to receive recipient’s

acknowledgement of receipt of message.

Options are: Maximum; 6 Hours; 1 Day; 1 Week..

 Message Format: set message format as Text; Fax; E-mail; Voicemail; Pager;

 Message Center Number: set or edit the network service provider’s Message

¾ Tip: Do not alter preinstalled settings by yourself if you do not understand

them completely or without proper guidance.

¾ Tip: When in a poor coverage area, set MMS retrieval mode to manual to be

Function: Set and activate reception of local information broadcasts from the network.

Voice Mail

Function: Set and call your voice mail number

Your network may provide or support voice mailboxes. It is a service that lets your

callers leave a voice message at a voice mailbox assigned to you for your later retrieval.

You may have to apply for the service and secure the voice mailbox number from your

operator. The number entered here will automatically be saved as your voice mail number.

You may change the number via Settings Æ Call Settings Æ Voice Mail. You may also

long press the “1” key to call the voice mail from standby.

Memory

Function: Check and view the memory consumption status of your messages.

When checking MMS capacity, memory consumption will be displayed as a

percentage of total phone capacity. You can view your memory usage here. If checking

SMS memory, SIM and phone capacity will be displayed as number of available message

spaces.

Group

Function: display the mailing list groups created in the phone book.

Press the key to view members of a group. Press for options: Send

Message, Add group, Modify name, Add contact, Contacts, Properties, Delete, Delete all,

Camera

Use your phone’s digital camera to take photos and use them for different

purposes, i.e. sharing photos with family and friends, using MMS or web, using photos as

wallpaper or incoming call alerts .

¾ Tip: Using the camera during calls will affect the call quality.

When taking a photo, press the up or down Navigator to zoom. Your phone has

two zoom settings, x1 and x2. Press the key for the options:

 Activate/Deactivate Timer: turn on or off the delay timer.

 Mode Setting: set the capturing mode to Automatic, Back Light, or Night mode.

 Timer Duration: set the length of delay timer to None; 10 seconds; 20 seconds;

or 30 seconds. (Appears only if Timer is activated)

 Sound: set the capturing sound to None or any of the 5 click sounds.

 Image Quality: set the image capture to High or Normal quality.

 Resolution: set the image resolution to 640x480 or 160x120. The higher the

resolution, the better the picture quality, especially when enlarged.

 Tip: Higher image quality and resolution photos will require more memory

space, always keep your available memory in mind when setting these

parameters.

After making the settings, go Back to the camera interface, press or to

capture, press again to send the captured photo via MMS, or press the key to

save and for the options:

 Delete: erase the picture.

 Details: browse the picture details such as file name; size; and date taken.

 Send by MMS: send the picture via MMS.

 New: take a new picture.

 Editor: edit the picture with the following options:

Zoom: magnify a certain part of the photo.

Adjustment: improve picture contrast.

Emboss: emboss photo with a gray tint.

Negative: transform the photo to negative.

Gray Scale: transform the photo to black and white.

Contrast: adjust the contrast level.

Sharpen: adjust the picture sharpness.

Blur: add blurring effect to the photo.

Sepia: change the color to sepia.

Shape: shape or change the shape of the photo.

Brightness: adjust the brightness level of the photo.

Solarize: change the solarization level of the photo. A solarization effect is

produced by selectively inverting the pixels below or above a specific

threshold level.

Saturation: adjust the color saturation.

 Rename: edit or modify the name of the photo.

 Add to Contact: attach picture to a contact in the phonebook to be used as

incoming call alert photo.

 Wallpaper: use the picture as wallpaper.

Eliminate rows by arranging the falling blocks to fill up all spaces in a row. Use

to pause and resume a game; “4” key or left navigator to move the block to the left; “6” key

or right navigator to move block to the right; “8” key or down navigator to make block fall

faster; “2” key, “OK” key, or up navigator to turn the block. The more rows eliminated each

time gets higher score, the game elevates to the next level for every 1000 points. Game

ends when the blocks reached the top of the screen and new blocks have no space or

path to fall.

Function: Stores and manages contacts that you often use.

There are two locations where you can store the names and numbers - in the SIM

memory and in the phone memory. The volume of contacts that can be saved in the SIM

card depends on the capacity, only a name and a phone number for each contact. Your

phone can save a lot of contacts, its capacity is limited only by the memory available after

other saved contacts, media files, and other files.

When saving a number in the phone memory, you can add some or all of the

following fields: Last Name, First Name, 1st Number (most often used number), 2nd

Number, 3rd Number, 1st E-Mail (often used E-mail address), 2nd E-Mail, URL, Address,

Company, Comment, Ringtone, and Photo. Fonts of fields that already have a value will

be in red.

You can press the down navigator to display the contact list from standby or follow

the above path. When you scrolled to a contact, an icon will be displayed on top of the

screen indicating its memory location:

To reach a contact in the Phone Book you can use the up or down navigator to

scroll through the list or use the keypad to enter the first or the first few letters (in Pinyin for

Chinese names) of the name, the list will go to the first entry that fits your entered criteria,

then scroll to the desired contact.

Once scrolled to a contact, you can press to view the contact, press to

dial the contact’s number, or to make available the options (if you are using your SIM

and phone for the first time and there are no contacts stored, these options will firstly be

available):

 Call: dial the contact’s number.

 Edit: Edit and modify the contact’s details and fields.

 Send Message: send a message to the contact, this brings you to the New

Message menu with the contact as your default recipient for the composed

message.

 Send By: send the contact information or business card to someone using

either SMS or MMS.

 Copy to SIM/mobile: Copy the contact to SIM or phone memory.

 Export: copy the contact to the USB storage.

 Export all: copy all contacts to the USB storage.

 Add to phone: not available when default memory is set to SIM. Allows you to

add or create a new contact record in the phone memory. Press and input

the contact name (use Options or the key to change input method or

insert a symbol, then press , input number 1 (most often used number) and

press OK, then scroll to the other fields that you want to input (use the key to

confirm and return after inputting each field), then choose Save to store the

contact.

 Add to SIM: not available when default memory is set to Phone. Allows you to

add or create a new contact record in the SIM memory. You can create contacts

in the SIM Card or the Fixed Directory (Fixed Dialing Directory). This operation

is similar to adding a phone contact.

 My numbers: save your own number for easy reference and access later. Press

Options and choose to Add Contact or select to return to Contacts Menu. You

can choose Options at a record later to Edit, Send by, Add Contact, return to

Contacts menu, view Help, or Delete it. You can have a maximum of two own

numbers saved here.

 Groups: these are the groups to whom you can send the same messages to all

the members at the same time. It saves you the effort of entering the numbers of

each member when sending messages. If you have set a group, scroll to it and

hit the will display the list of members. By pressing the following

operations are made available:

Send Message: send a SMS or MMS (depending on which type of message

the group is set to) to the contact.

Add group: add a new group to the mailing list by selecting the type (SMS

or MMS) of messages to be received or send to the group and create a

group name, hit to confirm.

Modify name: edit or change the name of the mailing list group.

Add contact: add a contact record to the group.

Contacts: return to the contact list.

Properties: view type and number of contacts in the mailing list group.

Delete: remove a group.

Delete all: clear all groups.

Help: display useful instructions or tips in using the feature.

 Memory: view the phone and SIM memory consumption status.

 Delete: erase the particular contact.

 Delete all: clear all contact records in the current memory.

 Download SIM: copies SIM contacts to the phone memory, not available when

default memory is set to phone.

 Backup to SIM: copies contacts from phone memory to SIM, not available when

default memory is set to SIM.

 List Choice: set the default memory to SIM, Phone, or SIM and Phone.

 Tip: It may be helpful to keep another copy of your contacts elsewhere, this

saves you a lot of trouble if ever your phone is damaged or lost. You can

easily do this by exporting all contacts to the USB mass storage then using

the USB data cable to move them to your PC.

Call Records

Function: Stores and manages air times and call history.

Call records may be accessed by pressing from standby or accessing

through the menu. Once on the call records list, press to view the details of the call,

then press for the options (also available in the call records list display):

 Delete record: delete the current call record.

 Send SMS: send a SMS message to the contact.

 Send card: send the contact information as Text or as Business Card to another

contact.

 Send MMS: send a MMS message to the contact.

 Block call: add the number to incoming call blacklist.

 Block Mssgs.: add the number to incoming message blacklist.

 Delete All: clear all call records.

 Call: dial the contact’s number.

 Auto redial: set the record for auto redial either as Off, Auto, or Prompt First. If

activated, the phone will automatically redial unsuccessful attempts every

minute until connected or until when you press again.

 Call timers: check and view air time for the Last Call; Received calls; Dialed

calls; All calls; or Reset timers.

 GPRS counters: check and view volume of the Last Received Data; Last Sent

Data; Total Received Data; Total Sent Data; or Reset counters.

 Blacklist: display list of calls from blacklisted numbers. Press to make

available options similar to Call Records options except the options of Restore

Call (remove from call blacklist) and Restore Message (remove from messages

blacklist).

 Dialed: display list of dialed calls.

 Received: display list of accepted incoming calls.

 Missed: display list of missed calls.

 Recorded: display list of recorded or saved numbers.

 Tip: The call records may be lost when you remove the battery, you may want

to save important unsaved numbers from the call records to your phone book

Function: Sets the alarm clock function of the phone.

Use your phone as an alarm clock to alert you on preset time. If an alarm is set,

the alarm clock icon will appear on top of the screen. When the alarm goes off, press any

key to stop it. You may choose snooze to let the phone alert you again in 5 minutes. The

alarm clock is functional even if your phone is OFF or set to silent.

When you select to activate the alarm, you will be prompted to enter the alarm

time. Use the numeric keypad to enter the desired time and hit OK to confirm.

 Tip: When using your phone’s alarm clock as morning alarm, do not place it

under your pillow or at any place where you may accidentally knock it off from

its location.

 Operator name: Activate or Deactivate display of operator name or logo during

standby.

 Energy saving: sets Economy mode; Backlight; or view help

Economy mode: select Complete and input the number of seconds delay

before auto-locking keypad; Unlocked Keys to disable auto-locking of

the keypad; or Deactivate.

Backlight: select whether to have Full Backlight or Screen Only backlight

and use up or down navigator to scroll to a desired duration for the

backlight to stay On after inactivity, choices are 5 seconds, 10 seconds,

15 seconds, 20 seconds, and 25 seconds.

 Contacts: choose a Contact List or phone book memory (SIM, Phone, SIM and

Phone) to use as default. And choose order of Sorting (By Last Name or By First

Name).

Call

Function: Set how your phone handles calls, mostly requires network support.

 Auto redial: set auto redial either as Off, Auto, or Prompt First. If activated, the

phone will automatically redial unsuccessful attempts every minute until

connected or until you press again..

 Call waiting: Activate, Deactivate, or view Status of call waiting feature, if

activated, this feature allows you to know if another call comes in while you are

on a call without returning a busy tone to the calling party. You can then choose

to reject, accept, or hold the calls.

 Call divert: allows the user to forward incoming calls to another number, it is a

network dependent feature, ask your operator for availability and details. Call

divert options (note that you may only set activate one option each time, to

activate one option you have to deactivate the others.) are:

Voice calls: forward all incoming voice calls.

All conditional: forward all incoming calls when the line is busy, you didn’t

answer, or your phone is OFF or outside the coverage area.

Cancel voice: deactivate forwarding voice calls.

If busy: forward incoming calls if your line is busy.

If no answer: forward incoming calls if you do not answer.

If unavailable: forward incoming calls if your phone is OFF or outside the

coverage area.

Data: forward all data calls

Faxes: forward all FAX calls.

Except for the Cancel Voice option, the following sub-menu will be available

when an option is selected:

To Voice Mail: forward to your voice mail number, not available for data and

fax forwarding.

To a Number: select to forward to a number and input the destination to be

forwarded to.

Deactivate: deactivate forwarding.

Status: check the status of the forwarding activation.

 Call barring: network dependent and requires a barring code from your

operator (please ask your service provider for more details), the feature allows

you to restrict Incoming or Outgoing calls. You can select to bar Voice calls; Data

calls; Fax calls; or All calls. For the incoming calls category, you can bar All or

bar If Roaming for the call types. For the outgoing calls, you can bar All,

International, Except to Home. Then choose to Activate, Deactivate or view

Status.

 Headset: select Auto answer and Activate it to have your phone automatically

connect an incoming call after 5 seconds when the headset is plugged in. Use

Kit Volume to adjust volume for the headset.

 Anonymous mode: needs network support, select Preset (default), Yes (turn

ON) or No (turn OFF) hiding your number from the party being called.

 Voicemail: set or edit your voice mailbox number.

 Help: view the help file for the menu.

Connectivity

Function: Set the parameter of how your phone will communicate with other devices it

connects to.

 PIN number: managing your PIN code with:

Modify PIN Code: to change your PIN code, enter the old code first, press

required to enter the PIN every time you turn ON the phone.

Modify: the operation is similar to that of modifying PIN code.

Check: Activate or Deactivate phone code. If activated, you will be required

to enter the code every time you change your SIM.

 Privacy: helps you maintain your privacy in case of unauthorized use.

Calls: automatically clears your call records every time your phone is turned

ON/OFF if Activated.

Messages: automatically clears messages saved in your phone every time

the SIM card is changed.

Calendar: automatically clears calendar events saved in your phone every

time the SIM card is changed.

 Operator: this feature allows you to set and modify your operator code for such

functions such as call barring. For more details, please contact your operator.

The procedure for altering the operator code is similar to modifying the PIN

code.

 Fixed Dialing: this feature limits your phone, allowing you to make calls only to

numbers in the fixed dialing list, it requires the PIN2 code.

Function: configure music player parameters.

Out and use the numeric keypad to enter the number of seconds after which you will

automatically be logged off and the connection will be terminated. To add or modify a

profile, press and input or set parameters or values for the following:

 Provider Title: give the profile a name that you could easily recognize in the

future.

 Homepage: input the homepage URL.

 Protocol: set to use HTTP or WTP protocol.

 Preferred Connection: select GSM, GPRS, or GSM if no GPRS (default).

 Proxy: set a proxy by defining User, Login, Password, Proxy Address, and port

Number.

 GSM Parameters: set GSM parameters such as Login, Password, Dial-up

Number, and Mode.

 GPRS Parameters: set GPRS parameters such as Login, Password, and APN.

 Save: save the settings.

 Tip: An active WAP connection via GPRS will not be severed if there is an

incoming call, you can still answer the call.

Multimedia

Function: organize your image and audio files in your phone’s memory locations.

This menu provides an easy access to the images and audios stored in your

phone and your phone’s USB mass storage media. Entering the page you will find My

Images and My Ringtones options available. The memory location is indicated on the top

line of the display (your phone memory tagged as Mobile is default). Scroll to an option

and press for the options:

 Mass Storage: go to the USB mass storage media or phone memory.

 Select: display the list of items stored in the current memory.

 Memory: view the memory consumption status.

Either access the files in My Images or My Ringtones on the current memory using

select (or you can press the key) or access them in the USB mass storage, scroll to

the root (normally at the first line and represented by “..”). Press to make the

following options available:

 New Photo: available for My Images, open the Camera to take a new photo.

 New Sound: available for My Ringtones, go to the recorder to record a new

sound.

 Copy all: copy all files to the other memory location.

 Delete all: delete all files of the type in the current memory.

 Memory: view the memory consumption status.

 Mass Storage: go to the USB mass storage media or phone memory.

 View: display the image in full screen.

 Send by MMS: send the image via MMS.

can be played here using the music player. Select Media Player and press or , or

press and hold to open the Music Player. A list of songs in your current playlist will

be displayed, use to play or pause. Press for the options:

 Library: press or for available storage media locations and playlist.

Scroll to a memory location and hit to display recognized audio file

contents in the location and press again to add the highlighted song to the

playlist, press to display options:

Player: return to Music Player.

View Content: display recognized audio file contents in the memory

location. Press again to add the highlighted song to the playlist.

Press for the following options:

Player: return to Music Player.

Add Song to player: add the current song to the list on the Music

Player.

Player: Add All: add all songs to the list on the Music Player.

Play song: play the current song.

Play all songs: play all songs in the memory location.

Create playlist: create a new playlist.

Rename: modify the file name.

Delete: erase the audio file.

Details: view details of the file such as the Title, Format, Size, and

Date.

Play Content: play all songs in the memory location.

Create Playlist: create a new playlist.

Scroll to a playlist and hit to play audio files in the playlist. Press

for the following options:

Player: return to Music Player.

Play Playlist: play the songs in the playlist.

Edit Playlist: edit the contents (list of audio files) of the playlist.

Add Song to Playlist: add the songs to the current playlist.

Create playlist: create a new playlist.

Rename playlist: modify the playlist name.

Delete playlist: erase the playlist.

 Play: play the current list.

 Remove from List: remove the current audio from playlist.

 Clear List: remove all files from the current playlist.

 Random: Activate or Deactivate random playing from playlist.

 Play options: select to play One by One or Continuous play. Selecting an option

here deactivates Random play.

 Add to Playlist: add the current file to another playlist.

 Rename: modify the current file name.

 Priority to: set priority to music or message alert. Please refer to Player

Settings in the Settings section for more details.

 Details: view current file’s details such as Title, Format, Size, and Date.

When the music player is playing, use the up or down navigator to move to

preceding or succeeding song, use to adjust volume.

STK*

Enter network service menu, and the first menu is STK sub-menu. STK is the

extra service offered by the network operator.

Your phone supports STK function. This function cannot be used if the SIM card or

the network operator does not support this service.

For more information, please contact the network operator.

STK（SIM TOOL KIT）allows the SIM card based on smart card to operate its

own application software.

STK offers an exploitable environment for the SIM card’s extra services, i.e.,

a simple and easy developing platform. The content of option menu is read from the

SIM card, and cannot be revised by the subscriber. According to STK types, the

content of option menu is not fixed, and can be altered by air interfaces.

The phone supports extra services offered by STK. Different operators offer

different types of business.

Only when your SIM card supports, can the function table be displayed. The name

and content of function table depends on available services. For availability, price and

information about the SIM card, please consult your network operator, service

provider or other dealer.

Be on track for your tasks with the ToDo menu. You can save a task and have the

phone remind you. If you are using this feature for the first time, use the Add To Do to

create and save your task. When you have tasks saved, scroll to a task you want and

below) or press for the details.

 Modify ToDo: go to the edit page (same as that of Add ToDo) to make changes

to the task.

 Delete: delete the selected task.

 Send by MMS: send the task to other party using MMS.

 Export: copy the event to the USB mass storage.

 Add Written ToDo: add a written task, use to enter a field and to confirm

after inputting each field:

Description: make a description of the task for easy reference.

Title: create a title for the task.

Category: set the task type as None; Shopping List; Business; Private; Call;

Idea; Gift.

Due Date/Time: Activate or deactivate alarm and set alarm date like you

would set the date and time (please refer to Settings Æ Date & Time).

Alarm: choose when to alert you as None; At Due Time; 5 Min. Before; 15

Min. Before, 1/2 Hr. Before; 1 Hr. Before; 6 Hrs. Before, 1 Day Before.

Save: store the task settings, you may also save the task by pressing .

 Add Vocal ToDo: add a voice task, options are similar to adding a written ToDo

except that it starts by using the recorder to make a voice recorded description

of the task for easy reference.

 Categories: press options to set a ring tone for a task type alert, or press

on a particular task type to see the number of tasks under that category.

 Delete all: clear all tasks.

 Memory: see the memory consumption for each shared memory type.

must first set the currencies and the exchange rate to be able to do quick currency

conversion computations. Upon entering the Converter interface, press to make the

following options available:

 Rapid Exchange: Activate the function to enter the amount using the numeric

key pad and push up to make instant currency 2 to currency 1 conversion

or push down to do instant currency 1 to currency 2 conversions at

standby.

 Exchange Rate: Input the exchange rate here using the numeric keys, use

for decimal point, use to delete an erroneous entry, press or

to confirm.

 Currency: input the initials of the currencies here.

 GoTo Calculator: go to the calculator function.

To do currency conversions, operate as you would with the Rapid Exchange at the

Converter interface.

Car Kit

Function: configure the Car Kit accessory.

Accessing this function makes options such as Add Written Event, Add Vocal

Event, Delete, Memory, and Delete All available. It allows you to add a schedule to your

calendar. The operations are similar to those of the ToDo function except that here you are

allowed to set a starting time, an ending time and the frequency for an event.

Input Methods

Your phone provides a number of input methods that you may use in many

instances such as writing a message, creating a contact record, etc.. The current input

method is indicated at the upper right corner of the display.

To shift between and select among input methods at the edit page, press (or

press Options and select the desired input method). There are three input methods to

choose from: Numeric (123); Alphabetic (ABC); or Predictive (T9). The T9 method has

some of the following options: English. Not all languages and input method options are

available for all handsets, it is available depending on intended market.

Press and hold to shift between upper case or lower case letters.

In the English inputs (and for similar languages)or Alphabetic input, press

to insert a space; in all input methods, press the “1” key to display a symbols chart, use

the navigator to move the cursor to a desired symbol and hit or SELECT to insert the

symbol. You may also push up or down navigator to a row and press the numeric key

corresponding to the position of the desired symbol to insert the symbol. Another way to

insert a symbol is to access Options Æ Insert Æ Symbols Æ OK to access the symbols

chart.

The key is used to backspace or erase the previous input.

123 Input Method

Press the corresponding numeric keys to input corresponding numeric values.

ABC Input Method

Press the corresponding numeric keys indicated with desired letter repeatedly to

move among the choices as shown on the display as each press is made until it arrives at

your desired letter. The keys with their corresponding available character values are

shown in the table below:

T9 English

Press the corresponding keys to the first parts or the entire word, each time a key

is pressed, a word will be displayed, keep entering letters until the word appears, or push

up or down navigator to scroll to alternative word options, press to select and

continue to the next word.

For example, if you are inputting the word “above”, press the “2” key twice, then

the “6” key, then the “8” and then “3” keys, the word “above” will appear, otherwise use the

navigator to move the cursor to “above” and press to select.

Accessories

Use only batteries, chargers, and accessories approved by the manufacturer with this

device. Use of any other types will invalidate the warranty and may be dangerous. Check

with your dealer for available accessories. You may opt to buy:

Extra Battery: extra batteries are available from our company or through your dealer.

Quick Charger: Light weight, practical quick chargers used to connect with the USB

data cable for charging on wall outlets. Charging time is about 2 to 4 hours. The charging

condition is displayed on screen. You may use your phone while charging.

Desktop Charger: use to charge heavy or extra batteries.

Earphone: a mini, practical, hands-free device; you can use its button to answer and

end calls. Some models may also come with a volume control knob. DO NOT plug or

unplug the earphone when connecting dialed or incoming calls.

USB Data Cable: use the USB data Cable to connect to other devices such as

personal computers, to charge the phone, or use the phone as a removable USB mass

storage media. Please refer to the USB Mode section for more details.

Troubleshooting

When you encounter troubles with your phone, perform following simple checks

before contacting after-sales service, this will save you precious time and effort.

I cannot switch the phone on.

Make sure the phone battery is charged. Remove and check if the battery contacts are

clean, you can wipe off dust from battery contacts using a soft dry cloth, and then reattach

the battery. Attach the charger and charge the phone for about 15 minutes. Check if the

battery icon is scrolling, if not, remove and reattach the charger again. If despite several

attempts you still cannot charge the battery or switch your phone on, contact your nearest

authorized service center. The battery icon will stop scrolling when the battery is fully

charged.

My phone switches off automatically.

You may have accidentally pushed the power on/off key. Try to lock the keypad if the

phone is to be placed in a holster, pocket, or bag.

Otherwise, the problem may lie with your phone, battery, or charger. Before going to

your authorized service center, check the following:

Make sure you are using approved battery and charger.

Fully charge the battery according to the instruction in this user manual.

Remove and reinstall the battery.

If you have access to another approved battery or charger of the type and ratings

as yours, try substituting them to find out if the issue is with your phone, battery, or

charger.

I cannot insert the charger connector or other accessories to their ports.

Do not force them into the accessories and charging ports, check if you are using

the right charger or accessory, if you are trying to attach it to the right port, and if you

are attaching it in the right position.

I cannot see the battery status or the phone do not recognize the battery.

You are probably using unrecognized battery, always use original or manufacturer

approved batteries. Or your battery may be damaged, replace with a new one.

My battery is low.

Charge your battery as soon as possible, this will avoid missing or dropping

important calls. Prolong use of the battery in a low charge state will also shorten

battery life.

The standby and talk time is shorter now.

Mobile phones consume more power in poor signal situations even on standby, try

to move to a better location. Do not place your hand over or cover the antenna area

during a call, it will affect reception and require more power from your phone to

maintain good connection. If you are using a new battery, make sure it is a

manufacturer approved battery, it may take several charge and discharge cycles

before the battery will attain its optimal performance level. If you are using an old

battery, it is probably about time to replace the battery. Battery performance is

affected by ambient temperature; minimize using your phone in extreme temperature.

Check if you are over extending the LCD and keypad backlight time because of your

settings or because of frequent accidental key presses.

My phone cannot detect the SIM card or says the SIM is damaged.

Remove the battery and SIM card, check if metal contacts of your SIM and your

phone are clean, wipe dirty contacts with a soft dry cloth or with an eraser. At the

same time, check if the SIM is damaged or worn in anyway, if so contact your operator

for replacement. Otherwise replace the SIM card and battery. If problem persist,

contact your authorized service center.

I entered an incorrect PIN.

Be careful! You have only three tries to enter the correct PIN, if you forgot your

PIN, ask your operator for assistance.

My PIN is blocked.

Either you or somebody else had entered incorrect PIN three times, you have to (1)

input the PUK, (2) input your PIN, (3) input you PIN again to confirm. After 5 to 10

attempts (depending on SIM card) to enter the right PUK your SIM will be permanently

blocked. You will need to acquire a new SIM from your operator.

I cannot use a new SIM card with the phone.

Your phone may be locked to a network or a particular type of SIM card by or at

the request of your network operator. Or your new SIM access a different network that

is using a different frequency. Check with your network operator for more details.

I cannot make a call.

Check the following:

You are in your network’s coverage area.

The number you had dialed is correct.

You have pressed the Call/Dial key.

You have sufficient credit.

Your SIM card offers the requested service and it is still valid.

You have deactivated outgoing call restrictions.

The network may be saturated, try again later.

If problem persists, contact your authorized service center.

I cannot be reached.

Check the following:

Your phone is switched on.

You are in your network’s coverage area.

Make an outgoing call and see if your phone and the network are working

properly.

Call forwarding (call diverts) is deactivated.

Incoming call restriction is deactivated.

If problem persists, contact your authorized service center.

I cannot hear the other party.

Your earpiece volume may be set too low, try adjusting the volume.

The other party is not able to hear what I am saying.

Your phone may be muted, un-mute it. Or something maybe blocking the microphone,

check and remove any obstruction.

My calls breaks-up, dropped, or have poor call quality.

Avoid placing your finger over your phone’s antenna area. Poor call quality may

also result from poor signal strength or network coverage gaps at either end of the call

connection. Try moving to another location or seek your network operator’s

assistance regarding network coverage.

My phone won’t ring.

Check the following:

You are in a network coverage area and your phone on.

Your phone is not set to silent or vibrate only mode.

Your ring volume is not set too low.

Your headset is not plugged-in. If the headset is plugged-in, your phone will

ring through the headphone.

I cannot use certain call functions.

Some advanced call functions are network dependent or requires subscription. Check

with your operator for its availability and your subscription status.

I cannot send or receive SMS.

Check that you are in network coverage area and your message service center

number is set correctly in the message settings. Contact your operator for more

details. Check if your message mailbox is not full too. The message icon will be

flashing if the mailbox is full, you have to delete some messages to free up memory

space.

I cannot send or receive MMS.

Check that you are in network coverage area with sufficient signal strength and

your MMS settings in the MMS message settings are correct. Check if your MMS

exceeds the supported size or your phone has enough memory to retrieve the MMS

too. Contact your operator for more details.

I cannot use voice mail function.

Check that your SIM card offers voice mail service, your phone and network

operates properly, calls are programmed to be forwarded to the voice mail box, and

your voice mail box is configured properly.

I want to remove message, voice mail, or service message icons displayed or

flashing on the status bar.

These icons are displayed when there are unread messages or un-retrieved voice

mails. Open the message or retrieve the voice mail to hide these icons.

My phone does not display some texts (names, messages, web pages, etc.)

correctly.

These texts may be in a language that your phone does not support. Language

support for the handset varies with the market where it is originally intended. The

languages supported by your phone are shown in the ‘Language’ menu under ‘Settings’.

Contact the manufacturer customer service or inquire with your dealer for details on

availability of language support.

I have problem accessing the web.

Make sure that your SIM support the feature, and that you are in an area with

strong signal. Switch off then on again your phone, clear the cache. Check your WAP

or internet setting, your network operator is always the best source of information on

these settings.

The phone does not respond to my key press.

Wait for a while, maybe your phone is still busy processing your last input or command.

If it still does not respond, try to power off then power on the phone again using the

ON/OFF key. If the power key does not respond, try to remove and reinstall the battery. It

is advisable to have your handset checked by an authorized service center or accredited

technician.

The pictures taken using the camera on my phone are so smudgy or blurry.

Keep your hand steady when taking a photo. Check if the camera window is clean. Try

other image and camera settings. Try taking the photo using another angle, lighting

condition may be affecting the picture quality.

My phone cannot display some images or play some music or video.

The file type may not be supported by your phone. For the audio and video files,

the file type may be supported but the bit rate may be not supported. Try converting

these files to other format or bit rate.

My phone was dropped or gotten wet.

Do not power on the phone immediately especially if it is wet, the best

recommendation is to remove the battery and have your handset checked by an

authorized service center or accredited technician.

How can I lock or unlock the keypad?

Press and hold the “#” key in standby mode.

How do I free up memory?

Access the mailbox, list or folder, delete some old and unimportant records, or

move them to the memory card or your personal computer.

What if the above recommendations did not help?

Take note of the model, serial number, IMEI of your phone, your warranty details,

and a clear description of your trouble. Contact your nearest after-sales or customer

service center.
